I think it's been mentioned before, but you need to check out the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics where he is part of the orchestra 🤣
Apart from his brilliant acting, I love how he can use his voice and pull such fantastic facial expressions to make you laugh - he is hilarious! ❤️🇬🇧
He has also addressed student union meetings and other public meetings he is well qualified for serious matters that affect us all, and a knowledgeable person all round.
He was also in a straight role in an ITV production of Maigret (a detective). Maigret was also made decades ago I think by the BBC with the marvellous Rupert Davies in the title role.
itv also made it with Michael Gambon.
@David-yz3uo yes. I thought there was another version but just couldn't remember it.
There's never a bad Graham Norton Show amd some are some of the best entertainment TV anywhere in my opinion. He just winds them up, loosens them up with a little booze and lets them go.
He was brilliant in a series called (A thin blue line)
I enjoyed your video thank you
Yes! JPS - watch The Thin Blue Line!
Yes that was a great programme !
He was the most brilliant Maigret. Truly definite.
Check out a series of Rowan's called "The Thin Blue Line" from the late 90's in which he portrays a police officer. I used to watch it as a kid on the CBC in Canada. It's hilarious even now.
He is also in 4 weddings and a funeral as a vicar in which he steals the spotlight like he does in everything
Check out his invisible drum solo. Absolutely brilliant! 😊
The Elizabethan Blackadder is a personal favourite👍👍
Hey Jps, we've missed you friend. Hope you're safe and keeping well
Joel Rowan isn't just a clever comedian but he is also an electrical and electronic engineer.
He made his name in a comedy sketch show called Not The Nine O Clock news
As a German who loves dry humour, I love the British humour.
You would love this one: Official Rowan Atkinson Live - Full length standup Sketches that you can react to one at a time
Thanks for that. I really needed a laugh today.😂
Great mate, cheers for doing this one
Reminds me of the story of Charlie Chaplin entering a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest at the height of his fame and coming third.
I've heard of same thing happening to, Elvis & Dolly Parton, 😅
In much smaller cases Anthony Daniels and John Leeson have entered impersonation competitions and haven't even got on the podium..... that is for C3PO (Star Wars) and K-9 (Doctor Who)...
Hi Joel - it looks like you saw my suggestion on Patreon. I love this interview. 😉
Have you not seen the Johnny English movies?! Please do!
He also plays a good role in the great movie Keeping mum (along a stellar cast)
He is shooting a sequel to man v bee. Called man v baby. For Netflix
He honed the non-verbal sketch on Not The Nine O’clock News. Some are on YT
You've become quite the establishment figure for RUclips content for my grandsons in Canada, Australia, and the UK. We all miss you when you're absent for a while. Your brother and your roommates seem to have vanished into the ether, somewhere.
I need to properly watch this episode, because Jeff Goldblum is there and he and Rowan Atkinson made The Tall Guy together in 1989. I wonder if they mentioned it.
As was said watch 'The thin blue line' he plays the police stations top guy, and is also living with someone there
He gave a tremendious presentation on Free speech.
Not many people know this, but Rowan Atkinson played a voice actor in the 1995 Walt Disney film, The Lion King, in which he plays Zazu. The talking bird.
That was common knowledge.
Rowan Atkinson on free speech is worth checking out Joel
I really enjoy your videos. I've been watching for a couple of years now. Also now enjoying TimTams. As they are now being sold at Morrisons. I'm obsessed with the caramel flavour. 🇬🇧😊🇺🇸
Watch the thin blue line. Enjoy, you’re welcome 😊
I don't care much for "Mr.Bean" but I do like Rowan in his other roles and he certainly is brilliant at what he does. Have you seen him as 'Toby' the' Devil in charge of Hell'?
He's great. I hope he squeezes out one more Johnny English movie before he retires
He's a fellow Geordie!
Marvellous man...popped in to see his folk here on the wirral..just like 007...Daniel Craig..😊😊
I didn't like Mr. Bean, but Rowan Atkinson was just amazing in Maigret. He was just so good in that. It was him being serious and truly well worth watching.
He’s right up there with the best UK comics. Like you said, his roles in Black Adder and Mr. Bean are so different. But he is brilliant in playing both. If you’ve never seen his live special, I highly recommend it: ruclips.net/video/uw8dW9Hyno0/video.htmlfeature=shared
Derry Girls NOT Dairy Girls
So many different words are pronounced differently between the US and the UK. That’s fine. But people’s names? It’s important to get that right isn’t it? It’s respectful.
With that in mind, Graham has two syllables in Ireland (and also the UK) . It’s Grey-em.
BOB
Hello Joel. Have you seen Mr. Beat's channel?
Do you mean Mr. Beast? If so, then I'm sure he has, as has the rest of the world!
@showmoke No, there is also Mr. Beat who has his own audience of 1.2M subscribers. I did misspell it though.
@@alansmithee8831 - ah ok, fair enough!
That "I bet you wish you were!" story is the expanded "spitting image" of an anecdote previously told by the older comedian Arthur Askey (about two encounters with a man in a hotel lift). Has Rowan been borrowing material?
He Really doesn't like being spoken to in the real world! used to come into a store in Oxford all the time wasn't pleasant at all!!!!!!
Check out Not the Nine O'Clock News Sketch show with Rowan Atkinson, Mel Smith and others
Joel have you ever seen his Johnny English films? They are entertaining. Years ago he did an advertisement where he played a 'posh boss with his assistant' he had that arrogance but was completely accident prone. The film is exactly the same, a sort of James Bond spoof.

I forgot to mention that Graham Norton appeared in one of the « Father Ted shows, as Father Noel Furlong.
Absolutely hilarious.. please check it out.
