honestly i agree with this video alot, the first time i tried a crazed ufo (lv 20), i stacked it like 9 times and it already one shotted the stage i was doing. and yes, its not a bad unit, you just need to use it correctly. great vid!
The flying family is very underrated in general but I think the flying family’s worst weakness is the fact that they’re very expensive with low cooldown which can lead to situations where you run out of money quickly in certain scenarios.
I absolutely love your videos! Although I have some nitpicks about how you consider high knockback counts and low hp/kb to be a bad thing without considering the role of the units. High kb counts and low hp per kb is only a bad thing if the unit is meatshields and tanker, and is actually a beneficial thing for most units as it lets them take less damage to get knocked back and reposition, which increases survivability.
Didn't think of it like that, my thought process was "He's a melee unit, too many KB's, he'll never get off his DPS for a meaningful amount of time." I hear you out though that makes sense
For me it's Close ranged unit = should have a low kb count so they can infiltrate enemy range/get their hit in easier Long range unit = should have a high kb count so they can reposition, if a ld unit has an enemy in their blindspot and has low kb they would lose a crap ton of hp before repositioning This is why Emma is considered to be one of the worst out of all the wave busters, she has too high of a kb count for being a tanker (wave block also gets ignored if the unit is in a knock back frame)
A big BW flying cat fan here. Here are a few reasons why I love it: -It is more spammable than teacher bear cat, making it easier to stack it especially on stages where you have good income. -It is less suicidal, making it easier to stack it. -It is immune to waves and surge, making it more likely to reach the front line unharmed by random waves and stuff, making it easier to stack it. -It has a mini wave attack, making its DPS actually even bigger. -Its TF slows traitless, making it even more stupid. Now picture a traitless-heavy stage and you accumulate a stack of five of these. Its already huge anti-traitless DPS multiplied by 5 = enemies melt at sight and those who don't evaporate instantly are stuck in place anyway. You basically just got to be careful that it doesn't get outranged by something dangerous, and boom: you get an anti-traitless annihilator. Traitless can be annoying, which makes it useful. Btw, this was my first anti-traitless specialist cat ever so I am a bit biased, but still, I think it's really good at what it does. ;D
BW flying is definitely very powerful, unfortunately it's a flying cat variant so there's like little to no enemies he actually works on, and 0 relevant enemies that he's good for, being spammable isn't always a great thing since he eats basically 1k every 3s and even worse he dies extremely easily bc of his range. You can just send out hitman and get more value lol
@@Awawawawawaa teacher bear isn’t even that good against traitless, but it is still better because each teacher bear is practically guaranteed to hit and do a big damage hit + it’s much cheaper so it’s better for spamming.
That's the deal for units that haven't been touched for so long, especially among the first you get in the game and even released. This isn't powercreep, the power is full-on jumping the unit. XD
Li'l flying has something that cadaver and chief doesn't have and that's availability, you can quickly and easily get li'l flying and crush a lot of zombie outbreaks before his level begins to underperform.
bird is actually better then ufo for early game, fun fact. I've been playing on a trait randomizer and crazed ufo has been really good to use, same so much outranges him.
6:44 I love your points on other flying variants but to be completely honest, BW flying is so MUCH better than bearcat just because when you have his trueform or even normal form (way better range and slow), dober p.d and kory can be easily countered. Those aren't hard in endgame (since you get his tf by then) due to the existence of hitman cat but it is worth noting anyways.
I feel like you forgot about flying's importance in dps stacking stages like sea breeze salon or angelic cyclone, (unfortunately due to power creep these kinds of stages slowly turned into cc spam stages over time) a notably large portion of their usage is in early game cyclones thanks to being one of the best spammable DPS units at that time.

I would say bw flying is MUCH better than teacher bear. bw flying may have a range problem, but teacher bear's range problem makes him nearly unusable vs traitless. He cant even outrange GORY. In fact, the only traitless enemy that he can outrange that isnt a peon like doge is duche. Bw flying can actually outrange some serious threats like dagshund or otta. and of course wave immunity lets him destroy stuff like kory and dober PD. And the slow makes him much more consistent and able to survive much more easily, allowing you to build a stack of them which you just cant do with teacher bear. Just because teacher bear does more damage per hit and is cheaper doesnt mean hes better.
You'll be surprised how huge of a difference that money cost makes, BW flying really just doesn't work well since he literally only works if he outranges them, unlike bear cat, because he's a burst type it doesn't matter if he dies as long as he gets even 1 hit in he already achieved his purpose
@@snaz15 Except bearcat is slow af and has no health, so he fails to do that most of the time. 10 speed and 21K health with only 140 range means most of the time he'll be hit before he can even attack, and so in the end you spend more money to get him to hit than you would on just a few bw flying who can easily and consistently deal with tons of melee traitless enemies. and bore jr is pretty irrelevant argument because there are much better counters than teacher bear. Dumpling, doron, btrain, cancan + octo all kinda just do a better job of countering bore jr while also being actually great generalists, so role compression. look I just personally prefer a unit who can consistently deal with a couple of enemies rather than a unit who may have higher potential damage against more enemies but is incredibly inconsistent at outputting that damage. And dagshund/otta can actually be a massive threat in crowned UL where a dagshund can have 60K dph and 1.2M health which makes it an incredibly opressive force, which bw flying is able to elimate pretty easily. Also not to mention that over time bw flying gets way more damage anyway. If one teacher bear gets one hit that deals 64800 damage for 660c, youre paying 1c for 98 damage effectively. If you spend 975c on bw flying and he gets even 3 hits (which he most often does), thats 94 damage per cent. and of course, he will get more hits, so over time a single bw flying WILL get more damage and value than a single teacher bear. So in reality, bw flying is actually more cost efficient option.
@@Missulena1 BW and bearcat has the exact same 21k hp and 10 speed with only bearcat having less range, he makes it up for this with his niche of a kamikaze unit like slime where they are only expected to land one hit and deal massive amounts of damage, as opposed to BW needing to stay alive (which is hard with 205 range) to outdamage bearcat while costing 300 more than him. And your argument for there being better counters for bore jr doesn't matter since we're talking about BW vs bearcat against bore jr (which bearcat wins) not what other unit is the best bore jr counter (you didn't even mention hitman smh). There's really just no relevant enemy bw works on, there's only like dober pd, manic lion and kory which are all sol enemies that you'll have beaten way before you get BW's tf. @ Again bearcat's range is what ruins him. Vast majority of traitless enemies attack pretty fast you know, so its hard for him to get a hit. Dagshund is a serious threat in some 3 crown UL stages. and even stuff like kory and dober can be a threat. and my argument of there being better bore jr counters is relevant, because why would teacher bear being a better bore jr counter matter when in reality youre never actually going to use him vs bore jr?
