  • BONEJANGLES
Hey! Give me a listen you corpses of cheer
Leastles of you who still got an ear
I'll tell you a story make a skeleton cry
Of our own jubiliciously lovely corpse bride
    BONE BOYS
Die, die we all pass away
But don't wear a frown cuz it's really okay
And you might try 'n' hide
And you might try 'n' pray
But we all end up the remains of the day
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Yeah yeah yeah
    BONEJANGLES
Well our girl is a beauty known for miles around
When a mysterious stranger came into town
He's plenty good lookin', but down on his cash
And our poor little baby, she fell hard and fast
When her daddy said no, she just couldn't cope
So our lovers came up with a plan to elope
    BONE BOYS
Die, die we all pass away
But don't wear a frown cuz it's really okay
And you might try 'n' hide
And you might try 'n' pray
But we all end up the remains of the day
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Yeah yeah yeah
    (instrumental)
    BONEJANGLES
So they conjured up a plan to meet late at night
They told not a soul, kept the whole thing tight
Now her mother's wedding dress fit like a glove
You don't need much when you're really in love
Except for a few things, or so I'm told
Like the family jewls and a sachel of gold
Then next to the grave yard by the old oak tree
On a dark foggy night at a quarter to three
She was ready to go, but where was he
    BONE BOYS
    And then?
    BONEJANGLES
    She waited
    BONE BOYS
    And then?
    BONEJANGLES
There in the shadows, was it the man?
    BONE BOYS
    And then?
    BONEJANGLES
Het little heart beat so loud
    BONEBOYS
    And then?
    BONEJANGLES
And then baby, everything went black
Now when she opened her eyes she was dead as dust
Her jewls were missin' and her heart was bust
So she made a vow lyin' under that tree
That she'd wait for her true love to come set her free
Always waiting for someone to ask for her hand
When out of the blue comes this groovy young man
Who vows forever to be by her side
And that's the story of our own corpse bride

I'd never expect a song about death sung by skeletons to be so *lively*

I've always felt so sorry for her. She fell in love, was killed and then fell in love again only for him to love another woman. But she was so kind and understanding that she let herself fade just so her second love would be happy. She didn't ask for any of it, yet she was so selfless.

simplyandsocially awkward It's ironic cause Victor and Sweeney Todd was voiced/casted by Johnny Depp and Emily and Ms Lovett was voiced/casted by Helena Bonham Carter.

I like how especially in this song, everyone else establishes that Emily is not only one of the dead people, she is their "little girl" in how they talk about her, and later on how protective they are of her when her suitor makes a re-appearance.

I grew up watching Tim Burton. Maybe it's because my family is dark, and sarcstic, and I'm goth. But I don't see the dirty feeling in songs about death? Then again, I think of it as just a song. Usually I feel weird if it's a song based on a true story.

To be honest, even though Emily is dead, I think she's still really beautiful. More so than Victoria, at least.

      @nicodemusedwards6931 8 лет назад +23

+Aspiring Marauder dude, calm down. He said that the Emily is kind of hot, literally nothing else.

    • @Piledriver86
      @Piledriver86 8 лет назад +10

Thats the point of her character design, you'll notice that her decay hasnt affected her face, bust or hips much, meaning that her femininity is stil very obvious.

    • @Superdarkcloud666
      @Superdarkcloud666 8 лет назад +14

Another thing I noticed is she's a lot more affectionate than Victoria. Don't get me wrong. The latter is sweet and all, but she's so hesitant and withdrawn. She's sort of stoic. Emily is really open with her emotions and conveys them throughout the movie. You sorta just have to guess what Victoria is feeling based on the context.

    • @Superdarkcloud666
      @Superdarkcloud666 8 лет назад +4

Being a slave to societal norms strips you of individualism. I'll admit she had to follow certain customs of the time, but there was no law back then that made expressing emotions forbidden.

I like that theory don't get me wrong, but like most of these theories it's full of holes. Victor, the main character in this film is an adult in what appears to be the Victorian era (circa 1860's) yet the main protagonist of Frankenweenie is a kid in a movie that appears to be set in the 21st century and Nightmare Before Christmas looked to be set in the early 80's at the latest,
