I once had a friend in early to mid 1980’s, who’s favorite band was Led Zeppelin. I loved her smile and her kindness. Her locker was down the hall from mine and we would talk on the way to class and talk on the phone. She told me her family might be moving sometime in the coming year. In the summer of 1984, I was working on my uncles farm in Kansas. When I came home in August, her family had moved. I never got the chance to say goodbye. I never heard from her again. For the past 20 years I have been looking for her. Nobody I know who knew her back then also, knows or remembers what happened to her. I won’t give up. Debbie Murray, thank you for being my friend all those years ago. You will forever live in this song for me, as well as my memories.
