This is what the WWE is missing. Character driven stories that build up over years with no contrived intent. The HHH v. HBK fued wasn't just great it was inevitable. It was 1000% in their two characters that this would happen. 'I was using you to get to the top. You were using me to stay at the top.' This storyline is one of the best ever in wrestling history. My only knock on it looking back was that Shawn only had a one month title reign upon returning. However, you cleared that up in that it was Shawn’s idea to drop the title because his plan was to retire again. That said it was cool of HHH to put his buddy over while simultaneously trying to cement himself as the top guy. I still would have liked Shawn to of had one more legitimate run with the title though.
I agree, I think that Shawn had elevated, a bit like the Undertaker, to a status where he didn’t need the belt because he was a step above, a Legend if you will. Whereas hhh although already great, still needed the belt to be the top star.

This feud is my childhood. My peak interest in wwe was 2001-2005.
Great job... I really enjoy your take on the various aspects of the pro-graps... very entertaining. And it's nice to hear an actual human doing commentary without an irritating drum machine flopping around in the background and "whooshing" noises between segments.
Just checked out HBK vs. HHH on RAW 2003 per your recommendation... good stuff.
Man, this video took me back to some great matches/moments I had totally forgotten about! Always loved this feud and this was a blast to revisit.
Wrestling Bios = THE best wrestling content on RUclips. Keep up the great work!
One of the best feuds is wrestling history hands down wicked intro music btw
Another piece of great storytelling. Love the versus vids too. Great stuff.
Love this channel thanks for all these amazing videos... I was never a really big fan of either due to being a fan of Austin and the rock but the matches these two had against each other as you said were very physical and it was always fun to watch cause I just wanted to see both men tear each other apart without caring who won and it was very entertaining
I have a much more appreciation for this rivalry today than I did back then because it happened in the midst of The Reign Of Terror.
They really suited each other whether in friendship or rivalry wen they stood in the ring....❤
That thirple match at werestel mania was unbelievable I'm glad I saw it rip chirs
One of my favorite feuds
Hands down one of the best feuds in WWE history.
Yet ANOTHER GREAT EPISODE!
