- I have always found this song relatable in my experience with a narcissist I dated. Immediately, when this song came out I was on RUclips watching the music video and watching her perform it on an award show where she cried on stage and I'm sure I was crying while watching too. This song spoke to me and it's nice to know that I'm not alone in this experience and heartache and trauma. It's powerful and also heart wrenching.

I loved you reaction and analysis so much! Selena went through so much sh!t during all these almost 10 years of relationship with that guy (who we all know who he is). All the psychological abuse, being cheated on every time, apologizing him over and over again, she developed depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and had her confidence broken, her love for herself, and on top of that she had lupus and a kidney transplant.... As someone who has been a fan of hers for 12 years, I am so relieved, so proud of her, to have gone through all of this, to be alive, to use her voice to talk about mental health, to sing about recognizing that you are rare, that you matter. Her recent interviews are so good because now she knows she deserves better, she deserves someone who treats her better than he does. I know she still has a long way to go, to improve her confidence back, to increase her self-love, her self-respect, but I am already proud of her. Unfortunately, the internet still bodyshames her, still tries to put her as a crazy ex-girlfriend, as someone who is exaggerating, or is lying. But I hope she will ignore them now.
Thank you! I relate to Selena so much and I have for years. I could tell her and I had similar experiences based on her music and interviews for years. And she seems so at peace these days! Definitely proud of her as well.

I just came across this video. Did you know that when she released this song during an interview she was asked what JB thought of it and she said, He was mad about the male model in the video and wanted to know who he was. That says a lot about him. I don’t care about your feelings or what you are trying to say. I only care about my feelings of who you were close to in that video and I’m pissed. She dodged a bullet for sure
