Oral History: Charlie Cahn and Danny Cahn

Monroe County Memories: An Oral History Project presents an interview with Charlie Cahn and Danny Cahn, recorded November 7, 2024.
In conversation with Dr. Martin Wilson, retired Professor of History at East Stroudsburg University, brothers Charlie Cahn and Danny Cahn share stories of growing up together in Stroudsburg. They describe the origins of their family's business, Ted's Used Cars, and lessons in sales learned from their father. The Cahns discuss their family's tremendous history in music and show business, including Danny's career as a professional trumpet player and Charlie's tenure as president of the Penn State Blue Band. They also reflect on their family's active involvement with Temple Israel of the Poconos and the camaraderie among members of the close-knit local Jewish population, who instilled in them the drive to "do good work for the community."
