Svetlana's testimony from Christian Nursing House 'The Ark'.

There is a small village Obuhovka not far from Dnepro, a beautiful prestigious place.
The unusual farm with unusual inhabitants is located here with beautiful nature around.
Dwellers of this farm are invalids, bums, alcohol and drug addicted and released criminals.
It has very significant name "Kovcheg" ("The Ark").
The owner of this place is Valery Ryabkov.
Twenty years ago as he became a Christian he devoted his home to homeless people and now is living with them.
He even couldn't imagine that he would be living like that.
He had his own business before creating Kovcheg.
Now he is rich with ... God's blessings.
The full name of this place is Christian Nursing House 'The Ark'.
There is another nursing house in the village Gorianivka not far from The Ark.
Two years ago six houses were purchased in desolated old village Belokonevka, Poltava region.
One house was devoted to Church services, two were reconditioned and prepared for living, and another nursing house is building now.
There also will be the room for worship.

Svetlana was born in Dnipro region and now she is a cook and lives Obuhovka.
She often comes to Belokonevka for cooking too.
My name is Svetlana, right now I'm living at The Ark in Obuhovka.
I was born in a good family.
My mom died when I was 10, my dad died when I was 14.
My sister and I left alone.
Later I've got married.
Everything was going on quite well.
But one day a disaster happened: my son died.
He was 27.
It became so great shock for me that I have never been recovered since there.
I went down to alcohol addiction, my life had gone astray.
When I was dizzy I had been forced to sign up papers and lost my house and became homeless.
Then I've found drug addicted friends like me.
As a result I had frozen my feet.
When I was taken to the hospital, I was told that it was impossible to save my feet, amputation was inevitable.
I went to other hospitals, and at last I found myself in the worst hospital of our town.
Doctors treated me and were talking about the way of removing my feet.
In my deep despair God revealed His mercy to me.
In a dream I saw Somebody opened the door and asked me:
would you like to walk on your own feet?
Pray and sincerely believe.
And I tried as much as I could.
I knew the Lord's prayer from childhood, I also tried to pray with my own words and I promised to be faithful if He only could save my feet.
Every day the same nurse came and treated my wounds.
One Sabbath morning another nurse came and was amazed:
"Your feet don't need treatment any more".
It was a miraculous healing.
God had touched me and I became whole.
I could walk and gave praise to the Lord.
But it was not the end of the story.
All this was God's providence, because I had met Valery Ivanovich in that hospital.
He had often came to the hospital looking for the lonely homeless people, which needed help.
He had already taken two legless ones at that time.
The nurses who knew Valery Ivanovich well, advised him to take me too, as they knew
that I was homeless and had nowhere to go after healing.
Today I have been in The Ark for 13 years.
I am very happy that the Lord helped me, healed, forgave my sins, gave a new life and a place of residence.
And even more I'm glad
that I can now serve other people who need help.
If not the Ark,
I would have absolutely nowhere to live.
But now I know that I have a warm, cozy home,
where I am needed, loved and appreciated.
Centers, including the Ark,
exist on self-sufficiency
and thanks to the financial support of some brothers and sisters.
Unfortunately,
there are not enough funds for the construction of the Home for the Disabled.
Valery Ivanovich and everyone involved in the construction of the House,
