I highly recommend the "Old Timey Concert" cd w/Doc, Clint and Fred. Live performance from around this same time. Some of the finest traditional American music you will find on record.
Why not 12,000,000 views ? Kids now a days. Also , don't forget the double album set Earl Scruggs his Family and Friends. See him at Docs home with Sons " Now that's taken it home!"
I first ran into dock literally during a downpour at Union Grove I was trying to get out of the rain and I slipped under the tent and there he was looking right at me boy was he surprised it was a pouring rain around 1977 or maybe or six. Haven't been the same since.
Jeremy Reagan Actually, Jeremy, this music is still very much alive. Most cities in the South have fabulous groups throughout that still play this music.
Real ver oldtimey , PT. Two must see.
Skip James musta been proud of these guys covering his song so sweet
Love this performer ❤
Pure Gold......Don't neglect to watch Part Two people!

What a gem this is!
Doc is the best. Great vid.
he's my great grandpa
So.. Mel Watson is your grandfather? Wasn't aware he had a kid before his early death
Merle had two children, before his untimely death. So this is certainly possible. Also, Doc and Rosa Lee had another child named Nancy.
RIP Mr. Doc Watson. What a guy.
This video is an amazing and rare jem! Thank you for posting it!😃
Cool Proud to be related to Doc down the line as well!
Clint and Fred lived in Mountain City, Tennessee.
Very nice! Love this!
RIP, Doc
That is not Gaither Carlton, Doc's father-in-law, on fiddle. It's Fred Price, who played a lot with Doc and Clint Howard (on guitar) back then.
such a master he was!,at no time do his hands leave his wrists!
Thanks to FolkSeattle for amazing videos. GREAT

+Jeremy Reagan: I saw Doc Watson live in the mid 1980s, which wasn't that long ago.
+John R Yes I am aware of that I am from the South myself. I was refering to it as a community experience in that sense it is truly dead.
+x Cool, to me that is along time ago I am 32 so the 80s might as well be 400 years ago.

@travhank1 Somebody skipped past the intro --1967--
Any idea where they are playing?
Didn't understand the claim to fair use until I saw they were putting on a clinic. WP
