not only did the chaser catch her by one second, but if Maggie had been one second faster she would have gotten the final answer right and thus won the game o.0
hish11 it seems suspicious to me at how slow he was reading the questions for Maggie but for Anne there was some urgency. Maggie has a right to feel robbed tbh
+Samuel Ajani True. But, nowadays, I find that when the Chaser gets a question right, he always says "corrrrect". He says it faster when the contestant gets a question right. So it sort of evens out really.
I doubt that happened. The question are shown up on his screen one after another, he just reads them out. Aswell as that, these are set prior to the show even beginning so...
Yeah, ITV are famous for not wanting to give away money on their gameshows, that's why they came up with the concept of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? where they gave away over 60 million. Muppet.
She hit the post on some of her own questions. If she had enough time to just squeeze George III in she would've made it. ShadowOfTheEdgeworth Thanks for the upload, and for taking our feedback by not adding a spoiler.
Clearly asks questions quicker for the chaser. Also wastes time giving the contestants the correct answer whereas the clock is immediately stopped for the chaser.
+IQboxing yes when the contestants are wrong they are told the right answer, but when the chaser is wrong the contestant gets a free attempt at sending the chaser back, obviously this means he can't just shout out the answer when he;s just about to ask the contestant. Also, The chasers are quiz experts, when you ask questions that quickly for regular humans, they go "ehh.... what? could you repeat the question?"
+Jack Williams actually there is a chaser worse than Paul. on an episode of the Croatian version, the team only got 5 questions right and the chaser wasn't able to beat them
+Jack Williams I think Shaun is the worst. He answers too slowly and sometimes can't even reach scores that aren't even that high. He's really boring as well but paul is funny.
You gotta remember, since these questions are about general knowledge, if you throw in a random question, that people can easily guess, while you are thinking of multiple things over a short timespan, even a simple question can become difficult. It's like asking: In what book does the character of Moses appear in? What is the name of the mountain range that K2 is part of? What is 6 times 7? When you get to 6x7, your mind is scrambled, making an otherwise easy question difficult, because of time.
She could've deliberately gave the wrong answer and gave her the 50 it would be no skin off her nose her salary for coming on the programme is probably higher than what most players win anyway but the chasers play to compete and win.
+yaw son I am not wrong. Paul has lost once against a solo player. he has also lost twice to a solo player after wiping them all out in their head to head.
when he asked "who wrote the play an ideal husband?" and she answered Noel Coward I got so upset bc I just finished a play written by Noel Coward and I did a monologue from an ideal husband for auditions. not like I knew many of the other answers tho haha
The M1 no longer quite connects London to Leeds - shortly after 1998 (when part of the new section was used as a car park for V98) it was diverted round Leeds to join with the A1(M) and the old section into Leeds renumbered as the M621.
people always say 'will it was only a second, they should of been nice and gave them the money' yeah but the team had 1 step head start and got chances to push back the chaser. all's fair in love and quizzing
Of cause it's fixed! I bet the contestants get the same questions whether they answer set A or B. I nearly always get more questions right answering the chasers questions, than the contestants.
You'll notice that when there's a big prize pool the chaser usually gets the easier question set. I don't believe for a second they don't cheat. Unless they have independent scrutineers they definitely cheat
I do get the sense though that when a chaser is up against someone they respect like the contestant here they show some guilt for not letting them get the win when it's well deserved!
Everyone saying that Bradley asks the questions faster to the chaser, if you listen to background music that gives the hearing illusion of him asking faster questions! No hearing here!
Ann: "I'm very relieved to have done that" Yes yes I know it's her job, but to say that with 1 second to go and the poor lady misses out on, as they say, a life changing amount of money, is a bit disrespectful imo. She could have taken a leaf out of the contestant's book and been a bit more humble and a bit less cold about it. Lack of feeling there (and don't come back with the aspergers thing. I know she has it).
When the chaser wins they say they are releived because it solidifies their reputation. Tbh if i was the chaser i would have let the lady have the last second, she cpuld have potentially changed her life with that money
Ouch. Gutted! I was shouting Enid Blyton at my screen. The famous Faraway Tree series - astonished Ann didn’t get that one. What would Silky and Moonface say?!
cheongsam sounds korean, how does any word in mandarin become cheongsam? A quick google says it comes from cantonese, which does makes sense. Still, the translation has turned it into a korean sounding word for a traditional chinese dress and which is irksome
wow. you cant fault the contestant. she played a stunning final chase
100%, its a shame 1 second man, 1, second.
It was impeccably close with less than a second remaining.
She started kinda slow, then she zoomed through the rest of them
Except for the part where she missed all those push-backs.
@@bengilliam7877 u
Thank you for not having a click-bait title or the result of the chase in the title, made it very interesting to watch
agreed i was biting my nails till the last second i thought she was going to win
not only did the chaser catch her by one second, but if Maggie had been one second faster she would have gotten the final answer right and thus won the game o.0
its all just a damn shame really
hish11 it seems suspicious to me at how slow he was reading the questions for Maggie but for Anne there was some urgency. Maggie has a right to feel robbed tbh
she had a few pushbacks. one more right and thats 50k
More like three seconds, but yes.
Oh dear it just gets worse for her
Maggie is such a sweet, compassionate woman. Such a gutting ending...

Shit! I wrote that whilst drunk! I take it back... damn!
BluntAnim Hahaha! Full leather kit with whip and paddle... with all the trimmings. Lol. Her looks ooze dom off! :D
+thegun88888 i would have walked away in disgust...let alone applaud.
Has anyone else noticed that the presenter asks the chasers questions quicker than the contestants?
+Samuel Ajani yes, because they are used to it and contestants aren't (and would probably get more wrong if questions were read faster)
+Samuel Ajani True. But, nowadays, I find that when the Chaser gets a question right, he always says "corrrrect". He says it faster when the contestant gets a question right. So it sort of evens out really.
Aaron K. OK, hopefully it's more fair now then.
+Samuel Ajani The questions are unfair in difficulty as well.
What letter appears twice in the word ,,vacuum,,
Seriously?
+Luka Stojanovic another one I had just watched; the chaser was asked "how many p's are in sapphire" lol
The Governess always reminds me of Miss Agatha Trunchbull..
lol
+coralarch loooooooooool
beastyboyo1
Hee hee, thank you:)
+coralarch i cant stop lauging
Ziyod Usmonov
LOL, I can just see Anne running Crunchem Hall!
When a biscuit costs you 50 grand.
You can't fault the contestant. She played a stunning final chase. Thank you for not having a click bait result on the title.
I love Anne, but if she did that to me i'd be devastated!!!
I wonder if Brad got the call through his ear-piece to skip to a shorter and easier question....
I doubt that happened. The question are shown up on his screen one after another, he just reads them out.
Aswell as that, these are set prior to the show even beginning so...
@RonnyDonny13 There are, it's a company called Beyond Dispute who also do the same job on Tipping Point, 5 Gold Rings and a lot of other quiz shows.
Yeah, ITV are famous for not wanting to give away money on their gameshows, that's why they came up with the concept of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? where they gave away over 60 million. Muppet.
@wildebest Can't have the BBC using the license fee on prizes. How will they pay their presenters millions?
Two pre determined sets of questions. Set a and set b
OMG I feel so gutted from Maggie!! She worked incredibly well on her own and lost in a split second!!!
From 'for'
The dignity you have Maggie is truly admirable
This game show is so brutal. She walks away with absolutely nothing. Not even a consolation prize.
Thank you for not ruining the result in the title!
She hit the post on some of her own questions. If she had enough time to just squeeze George III in she would've made it.
ShadowOfTheEdgeworth Thanks for the upload, and for taking our feedback by not adding a spoiler.
If the question had been longer, like they usually tend to be on this show, she'd have won it. Bloody hell.
+Jack Williams actually there is a chaser worse than Paul. on an episode of the Croatian version, the team only got 5 questions right and the chaser wasn't able to beat them
+Jack Williams Paul Sinha is the best quizzer in the rankings out of the Chasers fyi.
+Jack Williams no Shaun does. But i am surprised to see Paul the top quizzer out of the 5.
+Jack Williams I think Shaun is the worst. He answers too slowly and sometimes can't even reach scores that aren't even that high. He's really boring as well but paul is funny.
When the time ends the contestant should still be aloud to have the answer if the question was said in time
Does the questions get easier? Wtf were the last few
"What letter repeats itself in the word vacuum"
That's usually been the case when more money's on the line. Very suspicious if you ask me, the last one was easy and most people would of guessed it.
You gotta remember, since these questions are about general knowledge, if you throw in a random question, that people can easily guess, while you are thinking of multiple things over a short timespan, even a simple question can become difficult. It's like asking:
In what book does the character of Moses appear in?
What is the name of the mountain range that K2 is part of?
What is 6 times 7?
When you get to 6x7, your mind is scrambled, making an otherwise easy question difficult, because of time.
POPO bby i thought 'c' lol
That's kind of evened out with "What other day of the week rhymes with "Sunday"?
what type of an animal is a chicken?
She couldn't have waited one more second to answer. Like, honestly? If I was the Governess I would be thrilled to have someone else win 50,000!
Why though? The aim of the chaser is to catch the contestant and stop them winning the money.
+Cazauxx I can't see anybody giving the Governess a spanking lol!!!
Sorry lad but it's the chasers job to catch people, no matter if they're nice people or not.
She could've deliberately gave the wrong answer and gave her the 50 it would be no skin off her nose her salary for coming on the programme is probably higher than what most players win anyway but the chasers play to compete and win.
billywhitewolf But its her job to answer the questions...she is paid to beat the contestants!!
I’d be fucking gutted Bradley, asking them how they feel. What a fucking stupid question.
fixed, he said last question quickly, it was short and it was simple.
+Arse Robinson Also the obvious question for the chaser earlier "What letter appears twice in the word 'vacuum'" that's fair...
+Torqile well that would have been Maggie's question if she had picked the other set of questions
Jon Hearn
I admit I'm not too familiar with the show anyway, since it's not broadcasted on TV where I live or anything. So I guess your right.
Jon Hearn how can you prove there are two sets of questions though? You never get to see behind closed doors
Because surely the contestants would know when the presenter says 'They chose set A" right in front of everyone?
I would be devastated losing like that!
6:19 I KNEW WHETHER THE CONTESTANT GOT THAT PUSH BACK OR NOT WOULD DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME!!!!!!
Enid Blyton is my favourite author I got that question right and they didn’t. Now I will feel like a genius for the next couple of days.
courtney hawkins omg that's a mood 😂
ok
If she could have gave the governess that push back at the last 3 seconds then she would have won!
Has she ever lost? She is rather good (annoyingly).
+David Cook She's lost about 40 games out of around 200. She's incredibly impressive!
+ShadowOfTheEdgeworth Wer hat jetzt gewonnen?
German
+Rebecca Rodde Der Jäger .....
+Rebecca Rode
against 1 player mark has lost 3 times. shaun has lost 6 times. and Paul has lost once.
+yaw son
I am not wrong. Paul has lost once against a solo player. he has also lost twice to a solo player after wiping them all out in their head to head.
I've never seen anyone push the chaser completely off the board like that!
when he asked "who wrote the play an ideal husband?" and she answered Noel Coward I got so upset bc I just finished a play written by Noel Coward and I did a monologue from an ideal husband for auditions. not like I knew many of the other answers tho haha
Maggie handled losing £50 better than I would have!
I knew 14 of Maggie's questions and 13 of Ann's so I would have been well beaten no matter what set I picked. Very well played by Maggie though. 👏
The M1 no longer quite connects London to Leeds - shortly after 1998 (when part of the new section was used as a car park for V98) it was diverted round Leeds to join with the A1(M) and the old section into Leeds renumbered as the M621.
“Spoiler alert 🚨 And I thought Maggie was going to do it . 😭😭
2 for 5 in pushback attempts was her doom.
if you notice he reads the questions twice as fast the the chaser. 3 seconds remaining. reads 9 words and gets an answer
Great chase Anne is always very good under pressure 18 was A great score for A single player
people always say 'will it was only a second, they should of been nice and gave them the money' yeah but the team had 1 step head start and got chances to push back the chaser. all's fair in love and quizzing
Amazing player and attitude in losing with 1 second to go
“What type of animal is a chickadee” oh come on, the answer is literally in the question, absolute fix 🤣
I hate it when the team loses and they applaud the Chaser.
Must be pretty devastating literally less than a second between winning 50,000 and nothing D:
Bet she can't look at that biscuits anymore...
Of cause it's fixed! I bet the contestants get the same questions whether they answer set A or B. I nearly always get more questions right answering the chasers questions, than the contestants.
it shows, annes the only chaser who HASNT lost to a solo
Anne has lost to a solo player on 2nd October 2019 -> Series 13, Episode 49 -> Video link: ruclips.net/video/P35Jgr-n1jA/видео.html
Rigged
Last question had like 5 words in it and its easy af
Too convenient for 3 sec remeaning if you ask me
The audio is a bit out of sync!
They should have it if your on your own you get a 3 step head start and if you all make it through you get 1 step ahead.
Bradley Walsh always asks chasers questions more quickly. Of course he does ITV suffer enough losses without him adding to it!
You'll notice that when there's a big prize pool the chaser usually gets the easier question set. I don't believe for a second they don't cheat. Unless they have independent scrutineers they definitely cheat
If one player got through that would be another step forward !
18 is Amazing 🤩 for a single person !!!
Has a contestant(s) ever won the Final Chase on this U.K. (original) show?
BRUSH UP ON YA BISCUITSSSS BOIZZZZZ
18 IS THE HIGHEST FOR ONE PLAYER
Nope, 21 was set sometime in the first two series.
wow... 50,000... I wonder if she ever feels like a shitty human being for not letting these people leave with anything.
forgive my spelling it was Kalahari.
I’d of shouted are you fucking serious, not “well played” 🤣
That was a really impressive chase.
I do get the sense though that when a chaser is up against someone they respect like the contestant here they show some guilt for not letting them get the win when it's well deserved!
I mean... the last question he asked at the speed of light.
What a load of garibaldi,, easy question at the end three seconds to go😂😂👍
Mate, I'd be f*kinda FUMING if that was me haha
6:45 Maggie has been caught by the Chaser.
Is it bad that most of the time I find myself rooting for the Governess
Everyone saying that Bradley asks the questions faster to the chaser, if you listen to background music that gives the hearing illusion of him asking faster questions! No hearing here!
damn maggie did good
that was the best chase I have ever seen
Yeah you rush that last question so Anne wins, Bradley
18 is a really good score as a team, nevermind on your own.
Ann will have felt bad about that ending
There was a guy with took £60,000 HE WORE THE WORST SHIRT RED WITH YELLOW ON IT CATASTROPHIC.
yes sadly the chaser does seem to get the questions quicker I could be mistaken
Same Thing William Grantham Vs $80,000 One Player The Chase (GSN)
Host: Brooke Burns
He Took 50 Steps
If you look at the clock counting down it is slower than real time.
Anne got the Canary Islands question wrong. Moroccan isn't a name of a country the question asked for but they let it go as correct.
WAllahi she did great job I wish she won the $50,000 anyway well done Maggie
I watched this on tv and I was so gutted lol
So close!
Wow, the governess was bad.
Ann: "I'm very relieved to have done that"
Yes yes I know it's her job, but to say that with 1 second to go and the poor lady misses out on, as they say, a life changing amount of money, is a bit disrespectful imo.
She has a job to do and that is win simple as
The only Tuille here is that TUILLE ANNE. Ridiculous.
The governess is an amazing chaser
Ouch. Gutted!
I was shouting Enid Blyton at my screen. The famous Faraway Tree series - astonished Ann didn’t get that one. What would Silky and Moonface say?!
Knappa22 lol I gave the answer Enid blyton as a guess and was doubtful it was right
Anne is my best chaser
Just my 2 cents but sterling wasn't the correct answer for Isle of Man currency . It was pound to be totally correct .
Anne literally devours everyone
did the governess say on second last question ,answer kalahara, instead of kalaheri.hmm.?
Not good that lady got 18 on her own and was so unlucky!!
The chaser's question were much shorter smfh, he had long paragraph questions for the player. I call BS lol
cheongsam sounds korean, how does any word in mandarin become cheongsam?
A quick google says it comes from cantonese, which does makes sense.
Still, the translation has turned it into a korean sounding word for a traditional chinese dress and which is irksome
Why the hell does she look down when answering question.. it's obvious she is Reading the answers.
Wut? It would be way easier to just tell her the answers before.
The one where the answer was Edgar Allen Poe I just randomly said his name and I ended up being right xD
New Avengers!? I don't even know it. My guess was X-Men.
Fhir Saleh when did they ask that?
Yeah I like how short and easy the last question was.Ripped off in 3 seconds.Give me a break. Bulldust !
He asked the questions for her really slow.
So does the governess actually know all these answers or does she learn the answers?
Anyone else notice how the clock stopped at 1 second meaning she was cheated
No because the alarm didnt go off and proves itm
Miserable sods depriving her of 50k for the sake of winning by a bloody second.
The answer is actually a Tuile so that’s wrong as well !!!!!
That is what Bradley said though :)
Who watched this when it was first broadcast?
The x factor is on itv 1 not bbc 1
good knowledge mate, should go on the show!
