Him saying that 5x increase in 5 kg of silver in an electric car won't be noticed is very inaccurate. The difference is $3,500 worth of silver at $20/oz and $17,500 at $100/oz. I'm pretty sure automakers would flow that down to consumers

Great interview. PM prices are affected by a complex interplay of markets and manipulation. Tens of thousands of tons of silver from Manhattan project electromagnets, really do matter.
Just as an FYI Keith: Silver is the greatest conductor, but with solar panels, the silver paste has a lot of other materials especially Silica mixed into it, which degrades the electrical performance. For this reason, copper, of plated, could be a better conductor, and some are looking at it. This doesn't mean that silver could not also be improved if there were efforts made. Just apprising you of the risk if you believe the renewable/solar is the major driver.

The silver market has yet to wake up to the fact that is is rare, 8-1 gold, has an industrial use/demand which will pull maybe 50% of it as an asset, whilst the remaining supply is still a precious metal. It has pull in both directions, the fact that electric vehicles will need substantial amounts of silver whilst companies like VW and BMW are commiting to all EV vehicles by 2025 has to be an additional plus for silver. I think he meant 5 ounces of silver not 5 kilos. Silver is mostly needed for electric circuit and ECUs.
No way 5 kilos of silver in an electric car. That’s approx £2500 worth of silver. No way. If it did go 5 fold that would be £12500 worth of silver.

there is .01 ounces of silver in a cell phone, so roughly 18 cents. No where close to $5 unless silver goes up to $500 per oz
