WHAT DO RUSSIANS THINK ABOUT AMERICANS? 🇷🇺🇺🇸

- After spending most of my life in the USA, 🇺🇸 I heard a lot of different stereotypes about Russians and Russia 🇷🇺 in general. Whether that was from watching TV where the Russian was always the ‘bad guy’ or spy, or my classmates asking me if I drink vodka for breakfast. I’ve heard and seen it all. So it got me wondering - what do Russians think about Americans? Do they hate or love us? What stereotypes do they have? Should an American come here at all? I decided to go to one of the main streets in Moscow and ask the locals themselves. I got a lot of interesting, funny, and thought provoking answers (some stereotypes too.) Watch and find out! 🇷🇺🇺🇸

The hate comes from governments not the people.
And from Western media... and now most liberals..
But that constant propaganda Americans are subjected to is not resisted and almost everything Americans believe about the rest of the world is false.
Dude that's all media, there's no point blaming it on westerners when everyone does it.
@@user-ms9xw9br7sTo an extent the media is being controlled by the government. Just look at what was going on with X (formally Twitter). It was direct coercion between the media and the government. Similar things have happened with Facebook as well. And now since the government can't take control or use tiktok as a way to manipulate Americans, they're banning it.
It's seeds and fomenting come from government. But with the propaganda of media, too many NPCs be drinking tons of Kool-Aide.
As a Russian, I can say that we are well aware of the powerful anti-Russian propaganda in the United States. Therefore, for us Russians, an American who came to Russia is a special person who is smart enough not to be manipulated and to study an alternative point of view. If at such a time an American comes to Russia, then he is a friend and like-minded person for us and even almost a hero!
As an American who has just recently moved to Russia, I would say I have been experiencing exactly what you have just mentioned in your comment!
I served in the United States Coast Guard in the late 1970's and had several opportunities to board sea vessels from the Soviet Union. I understood at the age of 19 that all I had heard about Russians was propaganda. The Russian people I met back then were always warm, generous, and friendly. Real people. Now I am married to a beautiful Russian woman who grew up in the CCCP. She is an impressive woman in every regard, and my friends and family absolutely love and respect her. Most Americans have no idea what Russian people are all about, but we are educating them one person at a time.
Honestly as a younger baby boomer in the Midwest. No one I know ever spoke about or thought about Russia❤ I think we all know russian people are like us. Because many has russian DNA. This fear you ask about you maybe asking East Coast American. But think United States is so big most just travel in the USA. Like I say I know in the Midwest has lot of Russian DNA. LITTLE RUSSIAN IS DOWN THE STREET HERE BUT MANY GENERATIONS SINCE THEY LIVED IN RUSSIA BUT SPEAK RUSSIAN AND TRADITIONS . UP AGAIN THEY DON'T TALK ABOUT RUSSIA. AMERICA'S IS THE TALK.
Notice I say America's.❤ to Russia with ❤
Why only american? we are a welcoming nation, anyone here is being a dear guest as long as his intensions are kind. American, african, tojik, jew. And even more if anyone is coming from any "opposing world" countries, its a good point to see how things really are, not in mass-media propaganda
I’ve met exactly five Russians in my life. All of them were incredibly kind, generous people with a great sense of humor.
I am from the 60’s. I always knew the Russian people weren’t a threat, just the government. That was pre-Putin. Been watching that Evil man, for about 30 years. Many Russian people seem to have been deluding themselves, during that time and find comfort in going along with him. I do know Russians, in America - none of them want to live in Russia.

Exactly, nobody hates russians here. That was something 100%, completely and totally cooked up by the kremlin.

I am an American and have been to Russia 7 times. The people are very friendly and welcoming. I have friends there who I care for just like my own family. When it comes down to it most of the people of both of our countries want the same thing, to live in peace and take care of our families. I wish the very best for my Russian friends!
Let’s not forget about our Ukrainian brothers we are all one love from america to Russia and Ukraine
Unfortunately, you are wrong. USA is the only country taking benefits from any conflict on earth. First - opening a new market for weaponry, second - replacing the focus from internal problems to outside conflicts, third - political shows telling you make people free ( if any will stay alive after your attacks).UN says, 18 hundreds children are... lost.... is that the will to bring peace to israel and palestina? why wont biden say "we support tht decision back to 1948 and we state Palestina as a sovereign government"?

In 1971, I visited Nahodka, Russia. I was a crew member aboard the US Coast Guard cutter, "Glacier," an ice breaker. I was nervous but soon discovered the people were warm and friendly. May peace prevail between our two great nations.

They did say that they have gotten some weird looks as soon as they mention they're Russian and it made me so sad. I have a really good friend that was born and raised in Russia! He moved to America with knowing little English and told me he learned by watching tv! He became my friend in high school. But we grew apart as we got older. Last time I checked he moved back to Russia! I wish him well!
I have absolutely no connection to Russia, and in fact never met a Russian in my life. I can tell you - with complete honesty - that I have never heard someone in America make a negative comment about Russian people - ever! On a personal note, I think of Russians as very brave (they beat the Nazis) and exceedingly smart (sputnik, periodic table, first parachute, and many Nobel prizes).
You're very knowledgeable! 😊👍
First parachute was invented by Štefan Banič (Stephan Banic) in Slovakia.
@@slovakiancountryball9568Окей, спасибо за ликбез
Samething!@@slovakiancountryball9568
@iancountryball9568 The inventor of the modern parachute is Kotelnikov, an engineer from St. Petersburg.
And the first to successfully test something like a parachute was the Croatian Faust Vrančic.
Vrančic is not the inventor of the parachute idea, whose roots are in the Eastern tradition. The first European sketch of a parachute is kept in the British Museum, and dates from the second half of the 15th century. One of the most famous sketches of a parachute belongs to Leonardo da Vinci,
from the sketches of which Vrancic assembled his model of a parachute.

Thank you for doing a video like this. As a guy from South Alabama and orthodox I have met a lot of Russian orthodox people around the United States in my travels. Wonderful people. The evil media, talking heads on television spewing hatred and lies is pathetic. I have traveled some in Europe but unfortunately, I’ve never been able to go to Russia, I would love to maybe one day. I have traveled into Mexico, and there again nothing like the media portrays Mexico. They were some of the nicest hospitable people that i ever met. They’re like everybody else. They just want a nice safe and peaceful life for their family . I think most Americans even likes President Putin and the reason is that it is so obvious that he loves Russia and it’s people and we wants the best for Russia and its people. That’s what a leader should be. Now here in the United States with what we have as a president, we can’t say that it’s a joke ! So again, and closing greetings from Southeast Alabama, USA much love to Russia and its people😀☮️❤️

Now the USA is a all about promoting perversion. After watching more of this video I would have zero fear visiting Russia. The language barrier is the only thing that would prevent me from visiting.

Firstly I don't buy into propaganda about Russia or the Russian people..
I'm not going to spend my life hating someone because someone else says I should..
There's awesome people and bad people all over the world from every nation, so why hate a whole nation of people for a few?
Are people from different countries really that different? We all have hearts, lungs, brains, most of us just want to live peacefully and be happy and enjoy our rather short lives...
I can't understand why there's such a huge wedge in humanity..
There's lots of cool stuff in Russia and in America, There's cool Russian youtubers that I like and so forth and I'm just not going to spend my short existence hating without a genuine reason..

Give more videos of interviewing the Russian people this is very interesting for Americans to see and to hear.
I'm an American and I love Russians, especially their figure skaters and stunningly talented singer, Polina Gagarina, who is better than any American female pop singer I know in the USA. (I don't speak Russian, yet Polina is able to transfer the emotion of a song, without one understanding the words.) Thank you for these important interviews.
I think that's just called being bias. Since you understand English, it doesn't impact you as much and you won't mind it as lovely as a language you don't understand
It's the same thing with Japanese music/sub. Lots of people love it because they can't understand it so they assume it's top tier compared to their own language

Im an American and get bashed by my fellow Amercians everyday on Facebook. Its normal behavior on social media, no matter how respectful you are. We Americans dont even agree among ourselves on any issue it seems. It's a very diverse country with a diversity of opinions.
Yes you are on Nikolskaya street which is beautiful today. But look at the famous photo from the 1990s with the man face down in the gutter. Look at the poverty and dirt. That was exactly how 98% of the Western world's political class want Russia to be again that was the only time they were happy with Russia. When it was in the toilet and Russians were suffering en masse. The Western political class hate President Vladimir Putin's guts because they will never forgive him for rebirthing the nation. It is this lack of memory and experience among young Russians that enables them to listen to a criminal like Navalny.
The reason America doesn't like Putin is because Russia still backs China, North Korea, and especially Iran, all of which have called for, in some form or another, the downfall of America.
You're right. In Russia this is well known and understood.
I have been to Russia 4 times and I have had a good experiences overall. I feel very.safe in Russia more than us
Great and honest interviews. The Russian people seem so kind and friendly with open minds. God bless!
Kudos to the middle aged woman... loved her response, on point! 👍 "you are an american, im a ballerina" 😁 in other words, so what if you're an american?! 😂
In Russia, this is how they express themselves when they think that you are lying without embarrassment. For example, a person told you - I am a professor and I have 5 higher educations. You will look at him, evaluate how he is dressed, behavior, age and literacy of his speech. Let's say you doubted the sincerity of his words and tell him - you are the same professor as I am a ballerina)) The woman in this video did not believe that Sasha was from America and she had reasons for that. American women with roots from England are not very beautiful and plus they would have an accent. Sasha spoke Russian without an accent and has a pleasant appearance. She has makeup on her face and classic clothes. So the woman didn't believe it. Even those two men who said they didn't have stereotypes about Americans immediately didn't believe her that she was an American because she was wearing a classic coat
Thank God for babushkas. Without them, we Americans wouldn't know the truth about our own country. Jeezus.

@@SashaMeetsRussia They say what they think. That's not necessarily the truth.

For years, back to the mid 2000s, I've never had a bad outlook on Russia or her people. I remember i used to be (still am) very fascinated with their language, their country, and how life is for them. I remember I used to have t.a.t.u albums, I would listen to their songs in Russian as much as them singing in English. I recently connected with people from Russia who have encouraged me to learn their language and to even someday visit Russia.
