Based on the construction how hard/easy do you think it will be to convert this SciFi version of the car into a real-world DeLorean without all the SciFi parts? Asking because I'm neutral on the movie, but I love the actual real-world car.
@@RacingBrick I have a Lego kit that I had trouble putting the stickers on because I'm not the best at putting them on. To get them straight I had to keep picking off the stickers and placing them back on and now the corners of some stickers are folding back. Do you know how to make it stick again because I have to keep trying to fold the corner back down every single day? I found other videos but they are too hard for a 10 year old. Could you please make a video where you show how to fix it? Thank you!
@@rebeccaverity4598 if those corners fold back then I don't think you can really fix it anymore. Based on my experience the best way to remove the stickers without damaging them is to use the edge of the sticker sheet itself. If you manage to push that one under the sticker then it is possible to grab and remove it without having a permanent damage at the corners.
A little bit. They could've probably just fancied up the display a little bit and it would've come out to that number of pieces. However it's still an awesome set regardless of piece count.
Lego did a really good job with this set and representing the model well. Only thing hindering the model is the unsupported doors. Other then that for the scale very well executed.
That intro with the actual car was perfect! You are clearly taking these reviews to another level and it is really cool, well done! Regarding the accuracy of the model, the real car has smaller wheels/tires at the front. Is there a suitable Lego alternative for that? It also looks like the four slopes on doors could be replaced with a single gray or black tile to make window size more accurate. Maybe. Other than that, the model looks excellent and I can't wait to get my hands on one. :)
Love the review. Hope to mod the passenger seat to hold the hoverboard as it lives there most of the time in the movie. Need a printed 2x3 tile Almanac piece too :)
Not the first review from this Lego vehicle on RUclips but definitely the most detailed onE!!! Glad to wait for your reviews!! Amazing job! Cheers from Peru!🙂
Finally got this one, my sister bought me it and its super cool! Watched the first and second movie while building and it was a great building experience. I did feel some repetitive steps but thats to expect with a car. The door's for me stand perfectly by themselves. Love all the features and is a must have for a fan.
This has got be one of my favorite LEGO sets. Definitely staying up until midnight to get this one.

I guess it's a great build. Seems accurate to the real car. On the way, what are the parts needed to get the 3 versions ready do swap and the quantity os pieces. Thanks.
Great RacingBrick review on the back to the future car and can't wait to see the second part I really liked the details and it was the coolest introduction ever RacingBrick continues so that the channel will reach 200k
Fun Fact: The Flux Capacitor was made using 3 vintage glass relays and used incandescent lights to make it flux. This generated so much heat that the tube the comes out the top of the Flux Capacitor in the movie wasn't just for detail, it was a heat vent for the lights
Regarding changing the number plate, I found that using some blutac on the flat black area around the number plate is sufficient to pull that whole unit out. I still removed the ends of the exhausts to gain access, but that was the only disassembly required. Thanks for the great reviews.
I love clever LEGO mechanisms, and the incredible wheel-flipping mechanism is now one of my favorites! Also, LEGO needs to be protecting all of their large transparent panels with plastic film to prevent scratches.
I saw one in person, and it is very loud despite not having much power. Also, seing front left fender intact is pretty cool!!! Only true delorean entusiasts know what I mean.
Man, this set looks so much better than the Ideas set from a couple of years ago! I just couldn't get past that hideous hood with all of the plate-sized steps in it. One small correction... the white half-pins are actually not new. There was a small set released several years ago of the American flag, as a bonus to customers who ordered from LEGO directly. Those half-pins were used as stars. I would know because I have that set.
Regarding Mr Fusion comment at @09:50 The car arrives at Lyon Estates in the dark and the wheels fold down to land on the street. Therefore wheels down with Mr. Fusion is movie accurate. Additionally the opening scene of the movie shows the car arriving Marty's house on wheels with Mr. Fusion.
What I said makes sense the other way around. Folding wheels were only present on the car *when* Mr. Fusion was already on it, so you shouldn't fold the wheels without Mr. Fusion.
@@RacingBrick Now THAT makes perfect sense! Thank you for your reply. 10300 was a Day-1 purchase for me as I adore the movies. Additionally, your channel has "helped" me get more into Technic builds in the past couple of weeks. I've been enjoying your channel much longer than that but, well, thanks for the Technic / car building inspiration.
Man this set looks so good! The details, very nice. Lego put some time into this set. The Creator Expert sets have become my favorite Lego sets. Great review! I wonder what Creator Expert vehicle set is coming next? I know Lego does not make military vehicle sets, but a Top Gun set of the F-14 Tomcat w/ Maverick and Goose min-figs would be cool.
Absolutely fantastic review, you've made me see the build in a totally different light. Perhaps I was too quick to think it was fairly simple (with a few notable exceptions of course)
before I ordered my set i ordered a set of the ribbed black pins (part number 4459) I used them in place of the smooth black pins in the doors the ribbed ones add more tension and the doors are more stiff so now they stay up.
In the next video could you give us a list of what pieces we would need to make the changes between version mostly quick swappable. I'd like to order them from pick-a-brick so when I eventually get this I don't have to take apart the individual extra builds when trying to swap from version to version.
Love the video as always. My #1 Lego youtuber for sure! Looking forward to the next part of the review. I just wish the side of the car wasn’t so flat and that the proportions of the mags would be more accurate. Still a day 1 purchase though.
I'm probably the only one out there, but I want this set just so I can make a regular DeLorean! :D I'd need to figure out the steering issue, but it should be quite easy to mod.
Great video and Lego has done a pretty good job of replicating the BTTF delorean. Obviously it's better than the ideas version but I'd love to hear how you think it compares to the Dave Slater moc.
I did not build that MOC, but went through all the photos and checked the building techniques and part usage. I think the official one captures most of the details better. It's not perfect either, there is definitely room for improvement, will share more details about it in the next video.
Bro! You just outdid yourself as the best Lego youtuber, by far 👏🏼☺️... didn't expect the actual DeLorean 🙏🏼... would love to see other moc builders attempting real steering and stock car looks that rather to what it looked in the movies too...so hopefully it'll be a 4 in 1 set with a few extra parts too...also it looks almost similar in scale to the Cada Toyota drift car, please care to place that model alongside this one in your future video/s too bro, till then take care bro...and look forward to the next vid and the upcoming treats you have for us too 👍🏼☺️🤗
Completely agree. Too many LEGO Technic sets, miss any new innovations. For cars basically steering, engine, and doors. Am waiting for something truly innovative.
Excellent intro with the actual car. Made for a great comparison to Lego's model. Overall I really think the Lego Group did an amazing job with build/quality/accuracy of the movie car. Only nitpic I'd have if any are very few prints most of the interior detail being stickers. Really like how well it looks next to the Ecto 1 though it also looks great next to the T2, and contextually it makes sense to have the two displayed together though I don't remember what model of van was used at the start of the first movie. Think my favorite variation of the three is the second which was also used at the very tail end of the movie. Gotta love that Mr Fusion, and hover conversion. Not a day one buy, but definitely Summer some time as I have come to really love building/displaying all these creator Expert esq vehicles. As for the second video. Comparison with the Mustang would be great to see as well as seeing it on the Technic car carrier as another addition to the will it fit series.
Definitely buying at least one set. I'm tempted to buy three of them to have all three versions, but that is lot of money (also, lot of space for my apartment)...
I'm really not sure about the cheese wedges on the lower edge of the window. I think a flat tiles would possibly do a better job, as the side windows as is look quite small/short.
Great video! Really looking forward to buying this set. Just so you know the technic half pin has come in white before. I only have one of them in my collection and I have no idea where it came from.
god i am so hyped for this. I'm gonna try and get it as SOON as it comes out- Jesus, I'm *really* getting spoiled this April- First Sonic Movie 2 is coming out the 8th, then we get a LEGO DeLorean?!
Thanks for the great review! Now the question is not whether I will buy this on day one, but whether I will only get 1 or 3 to display each version at the same time :D
A beautifully crafted review for a beautifully crafted set. Thanks for taking the time to guide us through all the technical details. My favourite Lego reviews on RUclips. I’m curious if you may attempt any MODs to keep the doors up or the light brick pressed?

Is it just me, or did LEGO miss an opportunity to make this 1985 pieces?
Me also
At least 1885 pieces would be awesome
Now that I think about it, yes

Lego did a really good job with this set and representing the model well.
Only thing hindering the model is the unsupported doors. Other then that for the scale very well executed.
The actual delorean also has self closing doors
The engineering of this set alone makes me want it. I'm not even a big Back to the Future fan.

I'm looking forward to this set. I have a big feeling that there will be many MOC Builders using this to create their own stock DMC DeLoreans.
looks like the plaque is made of the large slope piece that everyone wanted the original ideas set to use as the hood piece. Nicely played Lego.

I really enjoyed the detail in the build vid. Great job!!!!!
I wish Lego sould lighten more the future sets , modulars etc . LEDs boost up the look of a set.

It's smaller than I thought it would be especially if I display it next to the Eaglemoss scale model
Nice model , but do you think they could make it in larger scale with more peices like some MOCs in the past?
Some key components like the wheels or the windshield define the scale, but nothing is impossible...
