Hello@@Hew.Jarsol , how is your hyperacusis now ? I have seen you comment in many H related videos. I got my H in Dec' 2023. I have started playing pink noise for 30-40 minutes everyday. What kind of treatment have you started ?
MegaCozzy I also have hyperacusis, it's mostly mild for the most part, but sometimes it can negatively impact my life and emotions, as I get a full aural feeling in my left ear from hearing loud noise. I got hyperacusis 8 months ago, and tinnitus 4 years ago, both out of nowhere and for reason and zero cause. It really sucks, but I try to live life. I try to find any solutions possible, but so far I've had little luck. My ENT doctor said it may have to do with my jaw, so I'll visit the dentist, yet I was at the dentist's recently and there was nothing abnormal. Hope this goes away soon. :(
Hey man! Can I ask, what volume level do you listen to this at? I don't want to listen too loudly or too softly as to worsen my hyperacusis or not help it at all, if that makes sense? I need to know how I should be using the sound to increase my sensitivity to frequencies. Thanks!
Craig Long Greetings and salutations, Mr. Long. At the moment I have actually been taking naturopathic medications to cure my hyperacusis, and my hyperacusis has been noticeably improving the past week since I started this therapy. I recommend you don't listen to music at over 85 decibels (look up a decibel exposure chart to see the recommended time to be under certain ranges of decibel volume), as that is where hearing loss for anybody begins. Hyperacusis sufferers are no more or less likely to get hearing loss at dangerous sound levels compared to those without hyperacusis. Listen to music at a low/medium volume that is tolerable for your ears, as I myself was never a fan of blasting loud music into my ears. My hyperacusis was idiopathic, so keep that in mind regarding the fact that naturopathy is helping me. Also, you want to ideally listen to the pink noise at a level tolerable to you and then slowly increase the volume to readjust your auditory system's nerves. Talk to an audiologist/specialist at a TRT clinic ideally, and have them make a pink noise CD for you with instructions on how to routinely use it.
