    PAT MARTINO TRIO
    Pat Martino: Chitarra
    Pat Bianchi: Organo Hammond B3
    Carmen Intorre: Batteria

Listening to this piece so in tune with each other. Not one instrument is trying to overpower each other, and they’re not even looking at each other, they just know. Marvelous.

Pat Martino (born Pat Azzara in Philadelphia in 1944) is one of the most particular guitarists who emerged in one of the most innovative decades for jazz, the sixties. His father, a singer in local clubs, took him with him, making him known artists like Wes Montgomery. Martino began playing the guitar at the age of twelve: he often came across John Coltrane with his music teacher, Dennis Sandole. After his debuts, also in the rock field, on the Philadelphia scene, he moved to New York, where he became passionate about the format of the trio with organ. After experiences alongside Jack McDuff and Don Patterson, Martino is signed as a leader by the Prestige record label: at the age of twenty he begins an intensely creative period, resulting in albums like Strings !, Desperado, El Hombre and Baiyina .
His main collaborations include those with Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Bobby Hutcherson, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Eric Kloss, Willis Jackson, Woody Herman ... While after the productions for Prestige he has recorded for numerous reference labels (Warner, Muse, Columbia, Sony, High Note, Milestone, Polydor, Concord, Fantasy, Atlantic, Blue Note).
His career was marked by an interruption of almost a decade (between 1976 and 1984) due to a brain operation for an aneurysm from which he awoke with an almost total loss of memory, including musical memory. He had to learn to play the guitar again, studying his own music which he no longer remembered. A renaissance that brought it back to its ancient artistic splendor.
