The non-locking tripod legs is actually perfectly normal for survey stuff. It allow them to adjust for position & leveling when it's necessary to set up perfectly over a control point.
tabamb1 THE RTK base station has to be perfectly level at all times not just when setting it up over a control point. During the testing for this video we found the tripod too easy move with the lack of locking legs. It is actually much easier to level a tripod when you have the ability to adjust each leg independently. Go Professional makes a RTK kit for the M210 RTK V1 model that includes a tripod with adjustable legs and it works great for our clients. DJI could have done a much better job with the P4Pro RTK base station tripod.

The wind stability test shows great stability for the P4P RTK. Does this need the connection to be made with the D-RTK2 base station. I am considering a P4P RTK with aeropoints to process PPK. and not using the D-RTK2 base station. In that case would the P4P RTK have the improved stability over the P4Pro in the wind?

not in RTK, but you can use your own base GPS station in PPK mode. Just collect data, convert to rinex format and post-process in the KLAU GNSS software to get survey grade photo coordinates
If its not connected to a base station or NTRIP it will use the internal consumer grade GPS for navigation. The same one that is in the standard Phantom 4 Pro.
Is the drone RTK capable of taking NTRIP live corrections on its own, or would you use the D-RTK unit for that and use that as a local correction reference for the drone?
Has anyone here used the P4 RTK with Propeller Aeropoints? How was the accuracy and what was the workflow like? We have the aeropoints and just wondering if we should continue using them or use the DJI -D-RTK (or get the Klau PPK add on). Thanks

Hello Dujayn. If the mobile station loses connection to the aircraft in the middle of the flight it will revert to normal Non RTK mode which will significantly affect accuracy and performance. Normally the ground station should never lose connection to the aircraft and or remote controller. If you are experiencing this on a regular basis I would say that the RTK system is not setup properly or you need to reinstall the firmware to the base station and aircraft. I would also suggest to contact the dealer that you purchased it from for support because you paid for support when purchasing the unit.
As we mention in the video you need a base station for RTK service to work. The base station can be a networked station that broadcasts over the internet or one that you purchase that you put on a tripod where you fly.
The freehand operation wolud be similar to most drones, but unless you have a really great hand at that it would be preferred to use the built-in software to make precalculated flight routes so the operator can focus more on the timing of the photos. And for that, one would consult the manual.

@@kousoulides Yeah, my tutor at my current internship is using the non-RTK model for photogrammetry. At the latest project he just mapped out a square of a housing area, let the drone fly in a back-and-forward fashion over it, took a picture straight down every fourth second or so, and then processed the images in Metashape together with crosses on the ground we had measured with a GNSS-reciever before. It's an awesome machine for that purpose at a good price, i'm really thinking about saving to the RTK model for freelancing projects.

We were trying to get quick broll footage of the aircraft and were in a rush to meet our timeline and overlooked the back foam piece. The main plastic gimbal protector was removed. Overall this video took 80 msn hours to complete to give you free tech support.
Personally I stopped watching at "can;t use screen very well" I survey in very bright area's where 99% of the time, the sun glares of the screen. I couldn't imagine not also being able to touch screen consistently
That's because there's many factors involved that affect it. Processing time will vary depending upon many factors such as computer hardware, and size of project. Our test projects were very small on fast platforms so processing was very quick. I also believe that processing time is not very important to many people as much as overall project accuracy and ability to eliminate ground control points to save time and project cost.

No the m300 is the only survey grade drone that has a survey grade camera that can fly in the rain.

Of course, you can yse just NTRIP correction, which is called "Custom RTK" and needs internet connection.

Whether the Timesync system is run on a different software after taking pictures or is automated so we can immediately get accurate photos?
NTRIP is correcting the location and putting the correct information on the pictures.

THE DRTK does not need moved once its setup as long as it maintains line of sight with the sky and also line of sight with the Phantom 4 aircraft.
