Hi man, thanks for your videos 🙂
I bought myself the same setup this year and I'm delighted. I learned how to plan and get into straps from your videos and I've filmed on insta360 x4 with a mast mound from Flymount my first jump into the foot straps and my first planning sessions, that's insane 🚀
Will try a selfie stick + screeds setup, the frame looks great 🔥 If the rental administrator allows me to do this, of course. They are worried a bit about setting up cameras cause I already broke 2 sails(I'm riding only 2nd season and those sessions were w/o cameras, no worries guys, cameras have nothing to do with it. That was my knees and poor technique) 😅🤦
Who is thinking of getting the insta360 cameras - keep in mind that after each ride - it will take you one more session to watch the filmed ride and later - a couple more to edit that, it's time-consuming but the result is worth it, result videos are amazing. 😂🔥
TBH, I think that there are no better cameras for filming your windsurfing sessions)
Aloha from Belarusian riding in Poland 🤙
YEHHH! Good on you improving like that, and super stoked you love the camera too! 🤩
Great stuff Cookie - do you have a link to the metal extension you're using?

Incredible cameras 👍🏻
They sure are! 🤩🤩
I have the X3 and love it, but have been considering upgrading to the X4 for the increased resolution and the lens guards you can snap/screw on. My only questions is how well the lens guards perform on the water, especially after a few crashes. Do they still provide a clear view, and shed the water as well as not using them?
I don’t use lenses guards on the water- no need- nothing for the camera to hit!
@@Cookiesports Haha, true! I try to be super careful, but rocky shorelines get me once or twice a year. The accidental damage protection has been well worth it!
I love the cameras and have the X3! The only downside is the distortion when horizontal levelling - and how it flattens the swell. How do you find the extra camera weight of the X4 cf with X3? Especially hanging off a flymount plus 30cm arm?
Extra weight is not even noticeable when you are saying! Definitely worth it for the quality improvement!
Flattening swell is definitely annoying, haven’t really noticed distortion much on the horizon level! ?
Horizon sees fine. I just lost my Insta 360X3, was on a flymount at mast tip and the 1/4" adaptor to gopro mount broke, X3 in Fuerteventura beach bottom. 😢 why the cameras have no built in safety leash is beyond me! Will drill a thin washer between camera and gopro mount for leash next time. Weight of the camera breaking the mount is what I worry, heavier camera is more likely!
Looks way more versatile than my go pro…great ability to pick out the shot frame that you want. However, the subject looks a little superimposed…eg when you framed ahead on the windsurfer in front. Is that because the view was flattened in edit? I’m not a particular fan of that curved view you use a lot.
He was a little far away to be honest… made it a little fuzzy.
I try not to use a fish eye brow as much as possible- keeping the horizontal as flat as possible helps that- and keeps it all in the shot!
I am looking for some 1on1 tuition in Vasiliki mid to late September if possible ?
I can cruise in the harness, very close to planing and water starting.
A bit of help and the right conditions would help me progress now. Can you help with some contact info ? Thanks
HI! I'm here and ready to coach you! All my direct contact details are in the description...looking forward to it!
I lost my first camera while attached to the clew. The waterproof case was safety lined to the boom, but the case itself broke... 😞
I lost mine too! Flymount was fine but the extension bar snapped. The camera needs a safety line attached to the camera itself
Noooo!
I have a safety line attached as far fwd on the extended bar as I can… not lost one yet!
@@grahamrolfe7281 it is necessary.!!
Oh no, my condolences 🥲
I'm using Pgytech Insta360 X4 Camera Cage with a safety line attached to the right side with an additional screw that you can find on Ali. It's just a 1/4 screw with a hole for a safety line :)
Also, I'm scared that the camera may fall out of the case so I'm attaching the camera to the case at the bottom side with a separate screw also from Ali :D (12.9 Grade Alloy Steel Hex Socket Set Screw (Cup Point, Headless) - Size 3/16-24, Length 1/4).
With that screw, the setup looks solid and the camera always leaves in the case and that's not a problem for me 🤷
