Here's the thing....after someone gets abused and later realizes it....they often become obsessed with analysing what happened. I was in an abusive relationship, Borderline / Vulnerable narcissist for 5 years....at the time, I had no idea what it was....now I'm pretty much an expert in this area given that I have studied so much about it. And yes, I know the terms and talk about this topic now with confidence.....it was the most damaging experience I've ever had...but 4 years later, I'm unlikely to break down crying now......my answer with reference to the witness here "knowing the terms" and not "breaking down emotionally".

Yeah, I can relate to this. We can't use a woman's knowledge as evidence against her that her experience never happened. And it's true, the more you tell the story, the more removed from the emotion you get from it. Especially if you're on a TV show where you're put on the spot and know you have a limited time to educate people about what happened to you.

It can honestly take years too to actually accept what happened to you was abuse and specially if it was mental and you loved that person. Some can become abusive because of their mental illness too (like boderline), then you might want to excuse the abuse because that person is suffering.

Regardless of the truth what disturbs me the most is people automatically believing manson is guilty. Making comments about his image and using lyrics to try and prove him guilty. And him losing everything overnight. Last i checked its innocent until proven guilty. Using social media to publicly attack him and silence him truly disturbs me.

I think it’s very possible of him being guilty there are many sickos in Hollywood look at Armie hammer. However I don’t believe everyone who is accusing him are telling the truth. I think he possibly had a domestic situation that got way out of hand and is very well abusive.. and some people took it and ran with it for money over shadowing the one person he may have truly abused. He also is a mentally ill drug addict who has made his entire career on the back of the satanic panic. He’s just a Hollywood puppet, but very possibly an abuser. Like all things we see in media there is truth and lies shown at the same time.

@@teijaflink2226 The book was a publicity stunt. Everyone in the book has long since said that none of it was true (the crazy stuff anyway). Even the people he claimed to have harmed in some way. I question Manson's state of mind and lack of foresight in publishing such a book like that. But It does not mean those things were true. Everyone including supposed victims said many times over it was not. So I do not think they can used this book in court. If the defense team does, they will open up all those people coming to testify for Marilyn Manson. Even those who no longer like him will stand up and tell the truth that Manson likes to lie to shock people and all that in the book was BS. (That kind of testimony would harm the defenses case. And I am specifically speaking about Trent Reznor, whom I have happened to meet personally and ask about this. He despised Manson at the time I knew him, and he probably still does, but he would have to speak the truth under oath and his testimony would be extremely devastating to the defense.) I personally wonder if the defense would make such a mistake though. We shall wait and see. 👁‍🗨

I've had a person try to obtain my services who was obviously lying. I had another person who had me completely fooled until the first hearing. And I've had others who were telling the truth but either imploded before the hearing or decided to compromise to guarantee the kids would be protected.
I've also seen serial rapists weep on the stand about domestic violence and have the entire court staff in tears. I've seen CPS accept ridiculous stories by an abuser and continually refer to the victim to her face as "the perp."
Would I have guessed correctly if I saw someone else interview any of them? Probably not.
From the outside, there is no way to evaluate the truthfulness of an alleged victim except by having a lot of information that often doesn't make it into court.
On repressed memories: It is super easy to unintentionally create false memories. All it takes is to try hard to remember something. That is, we create memories by trying to remember things.
I went to a seminar on false memories where they ended by showing, without comment, forensic interviews of children. With knowledge from the lecture, people gasped as they saw the children accepting false memories suggested to them by the interviewer. Then the presenter explained that these were kids whose parents had already been convicted.
It was the most life-changing and reality-bending 2 hours of my life.
See the "Punch Bowl Study" for more weirdness.

So true it's not often easy to see who's telling the truth and specially abusers can be extremely manipulative and good at getting everyone on their side, while victims can be so stressed from the abuse that they can firget what they said before and just seem crazy to people which could lead to people taking the abusers side. So important to get facts and to document.

Don't know much about Manson, but have listened to Colonel Kurtz and Andrea Burkhart on the accusations which they don't buy into. I thought Wood rather glib in her statement. After the Depp/Heard trial it seems wise to treat allegations with caution: women are absolutely capable of fabrication if there is a strong financial motive to do so. I doubt that repressed memories are true if the person is responding to suggestions planted by the therapist or investigator.

I'm about to be slightly controversial for a minute. I don't think a person should automatically believe the accuser just because they said something imparticular happened. People do get angry at other people sometimes. Sometimes one person might accuse another person for an offense just out of spite. You also can't assume someone is necessarily guilty just because they come off a little strange.

Just my two cents: the first, if some of the stories seem similar and people think that they are not true because the women talked to each other and even helped each other out writing statements and such, could it be because they were supporting each other, rather than co-conspiaring? I have gone through similar after gotten out of a DV. His next victims mom (small community, so not hard to find out how to reach me) called me and asked if her daughter could call me and maybe I could help her. I said absolutely, and the two of us talked for weeks. It was very therapeutic experience, she is the only person who knows exactly what being with this particular person was like. And we did help and support each other through our respective court cases.
Second: could it be that memories were vague due to the intake of drugs and/or alcohol? And could that also explain why some of the women maybe didn't realize the abuse until after they started talking to each other. The above mentioned abuser had another victim after the two of us (I actually think I wasn't his first due to some of the things he said, that completely changed in meaning once I realized this was a pattern for him). She was studying sociology at a University when they were together. She was absolutely adamant that he didn't abuse her at all. Well sometimes they had heated arguments and she felt he was unfair. It wasn't until a bit after their divorce she read an interview (I am the interviewee in the article she read) that she started to realize that he was maybe a bit abusive to her. When I found out they were divorced, I reached out to her and offered her support if needed. We talked and one of the things that she told me was "he never hit me or hurt me physically. He would sometimes hold me down so I couldn't leave, or he would take my phone lock me in the room if we were having an argument". From my point of view, that was absolutely abuse. All of us went through years of torment, before we realized that he was the problem, not us. Gaslighting is insanely effective.
Ps. Love your stuff Dr. Das. Almost finished with your book 😁

I addressed this when my sister was trying for custody of her son. His father accused my sister and his ex-wife of conspiring. I pointed out that you could look at it that way, or could see it as he is consistent in his behavior towards his s/o and his children.
Fortunately, we had documentation from doctors, counselors, teachers, etc who also reported patterns of behavior or were able to verify what the children were saying. And that can make the difference. Find outsiders who also notice the behavioral patterns even if it isn't the same behavior, but patterns.

I see what you're saying but what got me is the fact that Wood and Gore gave checklists of abusive acts to each accuser. It seemed to me that in order to make sure the accusations lined up with each accuser. Why would they need to do that?
Also, why did 2 of these women say they had completely repressed memories of abuse but happened to have these repressed memories come up at the same time? That seems odd.
These women are also giving a very odd timeline of events. Bianco claims to have been in a relationship and living with Manson at the same time that Smithline claimed to have been dating and living with Manson.
There's just so many claims that don't add up.

Hey Dr. Das, I haven't watched this full video yet, reluctantly paused at 28:32 as I have to get to work half an hour ago. Eek! I just wanted to say this before I rush out & into my day. I think this man really wants you to co-sign what he believes the facts or otherwise of this case to be. However, I am a deeply cynical, some might say jaded, person, so may well be wrong. Kudos to you in any case for his inability to sway you from your on-point professionalism. Regarding the 1st interviewee in the video being on ketamine, I knew a couple years back who really liked ketamine & took it daily, actually from first thing along with their morning coffee then regularly throughout the day, every day. They'd go on like this for a couple of weeks at a time, then sleep for about 3 days straight, come too, and start over. That girl's overall demeanor, reminded e so much of them, just something slightly off-kilter. Sort of semi-zoned-out vacancy. Hard to put into words. That was how they looked, that was how they lived. They both worked and progressed in their respective careers, they had a daughter, born well before the ketamine days, she was loved & very well looked after. People such as teachers at their daughters' school, parents of her friends, etc had no clue, they were seen as slightly eccentric hippy-dippy types. Tragically killed in a car crash, 6 years ago now, along with his father, who was driving them when a car coming in the other direction mowed straight into theirs. Four people, including a passenger in the other car, died that day. The driver, who'd had a sudden & massive heart attack, suffered terrible injuries and he too passed away by suicide a little over 4 months later. Will look forward to watching the rest of this when I get home again today.

Drugs are making it more difficult for the victims and perpetraters to recall the SA. Of course these women know what grooming is at that stage. All the women coming forward are buddies. They do know each other very well.
I met Marilyn Manson a couple of times. He is super quiet type. He appears like he could easily be a doormat for women. I could see that being true, as people who knew him have said it too. That is the impression I got from him. But aside from my personal opinion about him which could be a different experience of course and it was in a group setting. However, the grooming stuff is BS to me.These women were all adults when they met Manson and interacted with him. A lot of them (aside from ERW) were older adults and were accusing him of grooming. This is quite ridiculous to me and manipulative behavior to me. It's like they are manipulating the public by using strong words like "grooming" "I was a child" "I was so innocent" "I was young." Even Evan Rachel Wood was none of these things when she met Manson. The other women even more so. Manson was not even the first much older man she had relations with. It's the revealed lies and contradictions and discrepancies that make these women's stories questionable. ERW is a way more forceful assertive person than MM according to many people knew them both. Ashley MS was a week long fling. She was not in a relationship with MM. None of these women understand what grooming is.
These women disturb me. They are infantilizing us women and themselves. An adult woman has sexual agency. Nothing makes me more annoyed than people thinking a young women is incompetent and can't make her own choices. Can't choose her lover and does not know what she is doing. It just really gets under my skin. They are making it seem like they had no sexual agency and that they were children. It's really dishonest to me. I do not like where they are going with this.
Ashley MS said she was on ketamine during this interview. So it kind of explains her strange behavior. She supposedly admitted to it. She looked sedated to me. She may have just not taken a lot of it.
A lot of people think she ERW is a liar because she has lied. Like fabricating an FBI letter.
ERW shows just as many characteristics as AH. And she's just an aggressive person. Every relationship she is in she completely changes her style of dress and her aesthetic, her personality even.. ERW was also abused as a child too.

It's possible some are lying for money, Dr. Das. But ERW is quite successful. However, she has political agendas. If she is lying I do not think it is based on money for her. It would possibly be based on her movement and being a national spokes person for women of DV and IPV. Much like AH wanted to be. People always try to say there would be no motive for ERW to false accuse, but there is. This movement of hers is a possible motive. The movement itself has merit and is something good, so a lot of people are not going to want to see this possibility. This was the same thing with AH. It's so similar it's really bothersome to me.

Eric Hundly is a guy trying to make money and grow his popularity. Other than entertainment he has no genuine investment in this issue and no access to first hand knowledge. To believe Eric Hundly is an affront to victims everywhere. In his first 3 minutes speaking here he misspoke and represented these women and friends colluding. If I were to speak about abuse I experienced as a child and teen prior to therapy, it was incredibly hard to simply speak about. After many years of therapy I can speak about it. I can organise my thoughts and express my feelings even more clearly through writing. It’s taken years but it can happen. People like Eric Hundly disgust me.

But his agenda is very off-putting, and this interview was manipulative in pursuit of that agenda. His manner belies the nastiness of what's going on here. Holding back his ''gotcha'' cards, and putting victims on trial in the court of public opinion because they don't present perfectly, or some know each other, implying a huge conspiracy is more likely than Manson is a wrongun.
Sohom being a decent human being handled it well in the circs. But Hunley's audience will just latch onto what confirms their biases.

Disagree that jimmy saville’s secretary is not similar to previous Manson relationships.
with the First Lady, it doesn’t have to be grooming, he could have outright sexually assaulted her, it didn’t have to be grooming. But after the assault he could have maintained control with grooming.
18:02 adults have also been groomed, not just children, and not necessarily with a large age difference, it can be a large influence difference.
21:09 mirroring is very likely with grooming. Grooming breaks a victims mind and they are now being brainwashed and controlled. Perpetrators usually break the victims individuality and inject their own personality into the victim. Their brain is hijacked.
29:34 can we stop calling these experiences of victims, a relationship. A predator is a predator. A robber is not a relationship.
30:41 it’s not abnormal for grooming patterns to fit perfectly. Especially with grooming, it is typical that most victims don’t realize it is grooming until years sometimes decades after, usually after hearing about grooming and realizing it has happened to them. Most women don’t realize they have been raped or groomed until the realize it.

I don't like the fact that Eric controlled what information Dr. Das had. The way he worded things were misleading, in my opinion. For example, the women may know each other NOW, but they didn't know each other before they were in relationships with Manson. Eric makes it sound as though they were all close friends before everything happened. Why wouldn't they reach out to each other as they became aware that others who were in relationships with Manson experienced similar things? I think that Eric used Dr. Das' credentials to lend validity to his beliefs, again, while cherry-picking the facts that Dr. Das received. I'm a bit disappointed with this interview.
By the way, I'm not a strong supporter of Wood; I've just looked into the issue enough to know that there's SO much more to the story than what Manson supporters, including Eric, would have people believe. (I don't believe for a moment that Eric hasn't already made up his mind, as much as he denied it.) For example, Manson admitted in his own book that he threw a bottle at his mother's face, permanently scarring her. Additionally, from the book: ""In the altercations that followed, I hit her, spit on her and tried to choke her. She never retaliated. She just cried, and I never felt sorry for her." This is the man that everyone is trying to present as a gentle man whose public persona is just an act. Nah, stop gaslighting us!

      Did you watch the video?
Eric did not "control" the conversation, he asked questions & allowed Dr.Das to answer them. It was a very open, comfortable and equal conversation.
This case is VERY VERY complicated with SO many moving parts, it would be impossible to bring Dr.Das up to speed with everything before this video.
What you are describing as Eric "controlling the conversation, cherry picking and swaying" is simply Eric filling Dr. Das in on one of the million of facts that Dr.Das was unaware of. Unfortunately a lot of those facts are not in favor of his accusers. There isn't anything anyone can do about that. Facts are facts.
Eric is not a "Manson Supporter" nor are any of the other lawyers covering his case. They are simply reacting to the cases and information being presented. That information is not favorable to his accusers. They look suspicious even to people that have little to no knowledge of the case or Marilyn Manson.
Manson's book was a work of FICTION based on true events. He didn't write it. Neil Strauss did. And there is a very clear disclaimer in the book explaining what it is about and why it was written, but I'm assuming you didn't read that either....did you?

It’s possible the victims are not referring to repressed memories in the hypnosis sense, but memories that make sense to them after they were able to hear about another’s experience. A lot of times, doctor, you should know, victims especially victims of grooming cannot vocalize their experience because their mind has been colonized by a predator and broken. They may leave that entire part of their mind behind/repressed, but they can make sense of it after decades with therapy and information. So let’s not let someone like Eric control the discourse around how difficult and truly agonizing it is for a victim to have their mind hijacked from them, and they were a willing party to the assault on themselves. That’s a very specific kind of trauma. Just because it seems too clean doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Just because the victims are supporting each other doesn’t mean their story is untrue. It is very suspect that Eric’s life mission is to shed doubt on victims pain and to defend alleged criminals. What if what they’re saying is true? It’s not a great look.

Or another possibility that they are still undrr his manipulation, fear or thinking there is nothing wrong with it etc there is a milllion different possibilities why they could be silent about the abuse. Also comparing the Depp vs Amber Heard case is super dumb in that case all of Depps ex partners said that he wasnt abusive but Amber Heards ex partners said that she was abusive. The Depp vs Heard case is sad in a sense because incels and misogynists use this as an argument why all women are liars and why abuse victims shouldnt be listened to. Dr Das you are absolutely an amazing human but this man really had an agenda and I don’t like how he tried to use you! I love already rounded perspectives so we can gain a better understanding of what happened, but the insinuation that the victims are lying is strong here!
SN: the first lady was deffo on ketamine 😅 even if it was a small dose, the first thing I said was: “is she on drugs” but I love how you defended her from this man and all the people that think MM is innocent just because they like him.

Just wanted to say 👋🏼 hi
I’m out of this since I’ve known him since ‘93.
If you need a first hand account let me know.
He’s only ever self harmed and we’ve almost lost him twice.
He’s a wonderful friend and someone you can always count on.
    Research the debunking.
Oh and he’s sober, married and with a child. He’s been through hell.

Thank you for speaking up. The man is a musical genius and I'm sorry that he's being treated this way. He will always have my love and support (and I'm not even a major fan, I just have a lot of tracks I love very much), and it saddens me that people will miss out just because they can't think for themselves or look at the bigger picture. At the present time I am not convinced by these women or their motives, and I say that as a woman who is generally sympathetic towards abuse victims.
One thing that strikes me, isn't ERW Amber Heard's good mate?
Anyway, I may have rambled as I've pretty much just woken up, so I apologise for that. I have not yet watched this video but looking forward to very much soon.
MM will never be cancelled for me, unless I see some serious proof.

With The 1st lady my first thought was she did seem to be under the influence of something but then when she started crying I thought oh maybe she’s just trying to control her emotions but I just don’t know
The second girl looked a bit disassociated
Talk about suppressed memories and not seeing things for what they are.
the example given - there was a gun
Reply; Oh yes there was a gun
it wasn’t until it was pointed out and I went back and looked Oh my gosh was she ever spell casting
Is the red haired lady a bit of a ring leader on this?
Oh ps The BTK serial killer’s wife of many years had absolutely no idea neither did his friends or community This is the same for other cases to.
That horrible white haired mans secretary probably didn’t know either I think his mother certainly didn’t know and he lived with her for many years.
Sometimes you don’t know, it just never enters your thoughts it’s then you don’t see things for what they are

It was hard to gauge the emotions of the first spotlighted woman because of her use of Botox. It paralyzed facial muscles that would have displayed involuntary microexpressions that we subconsciously observe and process.

I'm a 'survivor' to an abusive alcoholic narcissist but I still don't believe that whole BS 'Believe all women/victims' especially as some people revel in their victim hood and even make a living from it which is extremely off putting. Some of us women are nasty, spiteful, lying and conniving so, as I have more than two brain cells to rub together, evidence is really important to me. I will believe the victims when there is solid proof. Doing otherwise seems foolish and opens you up to being taken advantage of.

Set looking for a payoff. I am female older, i believe there was probably a little/lot jiggery pokery as people do having been married for 2 hundred years i imagine topics come up and people experiment and they work our whats ok whats not. If i understand she is saying this did not happen and, that he decided what the game was mmm she was 18 she did not have to play BUT by the time she/he were not interested SHE had became used to the very luxurious life style otherwise she could just have gone. I can reflect back on things when i was 18 and there are many things i could say were sexual because that is life when you are young and ‘available’ you PLAY

I do enjoy Marilyn Manson's music but the allegations spoiled it for me. I went to Prestwich MusicvFestival this year, it's all tribute bands gig and MM was one of the headliners. Great performance, just made me feel uncomfortable and mind you that took place after recent allegations. How can we separate the artist from his personal life (recent Arcade Fore allegations). I do like some Puddle Of Mudd music so take my words with a grain of salt. A whole lot of salt. MM is an shock rock artist and the shock he delivered.

Here is my thing: If all her allegations are true I feel bad for her however.. had she followed his career for any length of time? Trying to turn him into some sweet prince or thinking he would have one sounds egotistical and ignorant at best. Just watching a few of his music videos.. he glorifies violence / abuse against women. I don't condone what he does in his videos but what intrigues me about him is that you always hear of people saying, "I don't care what anyone thinks about me".. but he was the one that really proved it. I love when someone threw something at him while on stage and he stopped the show and actually got the person on stage.. I will just say I highly doubt he would throw something else at him ever again. Also I find it amusing that in more than one video he was portraying a TRANSEXUAL and tons of straight men were glorifying him.. like WTF.. don't they normally target and harass transexuals? Marilyn Manson is one of the most interesting individuals ever.. regardless if he's good or bad. Oh and also, he isn't a satanist, he just did that stuff to get christians riled up to become even more famous, kinda brilliant in a way. But he's a self confessed atheist, pointing out how hypocritical christians are to anyone different. How ironic!

Obviously both lying. First one had no clue what she was saying and the second gave no examples from her heart or mind just generalisations
And that's a massive mistake believing what women say , regardless, basically. They are the most macheavellian, manipulative selfish, cruel individuals when hurt or rejected for example

This is the definition of a bad-faith actor seeking to have his own confirmation bias and conspiratorial thinking confirmed by an expert. He's dressing up his incel proclivities in the cloak of "intellectual enquiry" - "hey, I'm just asking questions!" - bullshit. He wanted you to pick apart Evan Rachel Wood and Smithline's accounts, and you did a great job in not bending to his will. Imagine trying to argue with this guy on in a jury situation - torture. I don't know why you entertained this guy's schtick, he's FULLY in the pro-Manson camp. So this enquiry was absolutely bad-faith.
