Well explained. I was really struggling, this is 100% helpful to other students who are studying via distance learning, open universities or online studies. It didn't even take more than 5 mins to figure everything out . thank you so so much 🙌👏
THANK YOU SO MUCH, you are a 100 times better than my professor at univerity which couldn't explain anything in a whole semester. i can't believe that i understood it better in english, than in my native language...! greetings from germany and go on spreading knowledge!!
The ZZ curve shift when any of the exogenous factors change - these are factors that are not a function of income - and can be consumption, investetment, government spending etc. In this case it is the interest rate that influence investment and therefore the change in investment shifts the curve.
is there a video about 'the multiplier'? PS great videos, great explanation!!! Takes, what others make complex, and explains in an intuitive way. GREAT!!!!!
One question, hopefully someone out there in the world can answer, how does the savings component of the IS curve come into play? Thanks, from an overworked and under-slept university student!!!! Much love.
@mattrgreenwell 300 is the sum of Investment (150), private and public consumption: the value of 300 is arbitrary (as it is I=150), it must just be > I.
Where does the 300 come from as overall spending on the vertical intercept? Or is it just assumed with imaginary values of government spending added onto the investment spending of 150?
Ascetic Potato Yes, it does. And, as a result, Muslims have been killing Yezidis, Polytheists, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Bahais, and others for over 1300 years.
He put 300 on the y axis because ZZ = C (consumption) + I (Investment, in this case 150) + Government spending. Investment at 10% is 150, i'm assuming the other 150, comes from consumption and govt. spending. Correct me if i'm wrong!

after i watched your video, all i could say was... WOW. thank you so much sir. --philippines.
Great job! Straight to the point explanation!!
with an exam tomoro, this is a miracle
Thanks so much! Found your excellent videos just in time for finals.
How do you assume the vertical axis intercept is 300 on the second graph?

@EternalTempest You are right. The vertical intercept consists of autonomous C + autonomous G + investment. The other 150 is then made up of C + G.
Thank you so much Sir! No other videos helped me get a clear idea on this but you did.

Yes we assume it is 5 and therefore the equilibrium income is 5 x 300 = 1500.
Thank you! My teacher never has us do any math and none of this makes sense if you don't do math.
Well explained thanx so much

why Y= 1500. is multify 5 just an assumsion?
hi! how come a change in investment in the keynesian cross does not result in a shift in the IS curve but instead is a point on the same IS curve?
@SirEllwood YES, it is brillian! I read books struggling, but after this video it became easier

you did he pu 300 on y axis?
very very good video. thnx sir. love from pakistan :)
Baie dankie mister!
Where did the 300 and 350 come from ?
This is helpful
Why 150?
Impressive thanks
You r a hero

thank you sir
Thank you so much sir!
The word multi disappears at 2:43
Could you please explain why you call demand for goods and services "ZZ"?
I am curious about this point.
+Daniel Swenson Could you please explain why you've decided to put an offensive picture as your display?
Ascetic Potato The Koran is "offensive" to me. It says that I should be killed for not believing in Allah.
+Daniel Swenson let's real talk here: it doesn't say that you should be killed, simply for not believing something.
Ascetic Potato Yes, it does. And, as a result, Muslims have been killing Yezidis, Polytheists, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Bahais, and others for over 1300 years.
+Daniel Swenson evidence, please - excluding anything to do with isis.
I love YU. RUclips University.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
