    "Hugo", an excellent Martin Scorsese movie featuring a Doberman from 2011. Scorsese even wrote a letter to newspapers advocating for the dog, Blackie, to be nominated for a movie award. He blamed Doberman discrimination for the oversight.

    Two of our Dobermanns have 'acted', one in an advert and the other in a Bollywood movie with actor Anil Kapoor. It was a lot of fun being on set. We were told what the dogs needed to do ahead of time so we could train, but on the day they wanted a whole lot more that wasn't trained for, they thought I could just tell the dog do something and he would do it. As clever as he was, he wasn't a person. Still a super experience.

    You were probably focusing on live action films but Disney's Oliver and Company was a very good movie that had two dobermans working for a rich mob boss. Say what you want about that guy, dude loved his dobermans. He gave them diamond encrusted collars, had the jaguar removed off of his Jaguar car and replaced it with two dobermans, and even his license plate said "Dobrmn"
    Lady and the Tramp 2 also has a junkyard dog doberman as a bad guy but he was less impressive.

    Dobe's are soooo type cast. Yes they have a growl that chills the blood. Yes they can stand in to represent the Egyptian god of the underworld. OK you can argue the lock eyed gaze is the penitent stare of Hell rRder.
    The breed is also clownish, approval seeking, self effacing, patient and gentle in nature. There's a canine character in the Doberman that would eclipse Old Yeller, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin and Bengie combined. There's just that wealth of personality, character, intelligence and expression. A far broader talent than "They Only Kill Their Masters" and "The Boys from Brazil"

    I think a Doberman would have been a much better choice for the 1976 movie “The Omen”.

    • @VetteMAE2
      @VetteMAE2 4 месяца назад

      Why? I’m genuinely curious. I would argue that “choice”, for all intents and purposes, “destroyed” the Rottweiler in the US, leading to terrible breeding, unpredictable and unstable breeding lines that have resulted, in part, in the immutable bite and death statistics notwithstanding any responsible socialization and training. All for people with no knowledge or care to have knowledge of an ancient and noble breed to simply acquire a “badass” dog.

    • @Arivmario
      @Arivmario 4 месяца назад

      @@VetteMAE2 The Douberman already has the fame as “Hell Hounds” I think a European line one would have looked amazing in that role. Unfortunately “trendy” fashions destroy dogs. Look at what happened to the American Show Line GSD and the English Bulldog. Right now shelters are getting full of Belgian Malinois and Cane Corsos.

    There was a movie in which in the last scene three dobermans guard a high profile government building. The protoganist escapes from them by walking along parallel bars but one doberman follows him by walking along the parallel bars.
    Then the as the protagonist escapes from the building the doberman bites his arm off . He runs away. The arm was a dummy one.
    The movie also has a wisenative American tutoring the protagonist. He teaches him to dodge bullets and jump of large distances between buildings by bending reality using his mind.
    It had matrix concepts before the the movie matrix came.

    Curious of your opinion - So I did the Embark testing you mentioned. As we have a giant Doberman Dante - he's 1 and from the humane society (adopted him 6 months ago). He is about 32 inches at the wither. So we thought he was a mix. His Embark came back as 100% Doberman and his family tree is 100% Doberman all the way through. His genetics on size (I think there were 7 measurements) were are dominant for the large presentation. So - do we just have a freakishly large doberman or do you think the fact that he was neutered at 5 months could have played in? He's also about 32 inches long from the neck

    Hello fellow Doberman owners, please give me some advice if you have any. Less than two months ago I adopted my dobie and he is my first dog. His background is being abused and neglected in the backyard, so he's kind of fearful. He is 1 year old. Ever since I got him I've thought him basic obedience and he's very good at it at home. But my problem is when I walk him. He walks pretty well next to me/behind me but when another person appears on the street he starts walking in front of me and pulls towards the other person like crazy, sometimes barking at them too. He is acting anxious and I guess out of fear and wanting to protect me, but I want to teach him to be calm in these situations. I am trying to be the best leader for him so please if you have an exact technique how to fix this and what exactly I should do in this case, please share your advice and experience with me. It would be very appreciated. Thanks

      I am definitely not an expert but here's what worked for me... when we'd go walking whenever I'd see a person, vehicle, another dog, I'd have Valor "sit" next to me and "focus" on me. Once whatever it was passed by I'd cue him to continue. In a very short time he just didn't care about those other things anymore ~ Dobies are so smart ~ I think our rescue babies might need to just disengage their minds for a moment?

      Thank you so much for your answer. I will definitely try this technique. Recently I have been using this method where I suddenly turn around/ walk into him and it definitely has made a big difference because he doesn’t know when I will change direction and makes him way more focused on me. It works when we walk pass the neighbour dogs who bark at us through the fence. I will try the sit and focus method when someone else passes by us. I have also noticed that he just doesn’t like certain strangers, others he greets lovingly, I guess he “senses” people haha.
      Also, Valor is such a perfect name! Very beautiful! Our goofy boy is Junior 🙂

    Ugh! I HATE reboots! If it's not Tom Selleck, it's not Magnum P.I. The REAL Zeus and Apollo were far more funny! Speaking of which, the real Magnum P.I. is on our TV right now. That's the current marathon on Roku's Action Channel. I've noticed that some seasons the dogs' ears appear to have been posted and others they're floppy. Obviously more than just 2 dogs involved.
