I have never seen a Bok team as dominant and never ever seen any team rotate the way Rassie has and keep that win percentage up. Absolute crazy that he didnt win, I would prefer that the 15's and 7's coach of the year are separate categories. Its too different a game and a schedule to compare just like player of the year and 7's player of the year is
I have no problem with the winners just the Coach of the year because while it may not be all down to Du Pont he was the main factor i some games... Kwagga Smith & Cheslin Kolbe come from Sevens so I'm sure if they go back to Sevens they could also turn around the Blitzboks Sevens team...
Totally agree with your sentiments on coach of the year. Their clear bias on this kinda makes all the awards a bit diluted and insignificant really. They’re cutting off their nose to spite their face which is a pity, cause I think World Rugby could benefit quite a bit with an ambassador of the sport like Rassie in your corner. He’s got so many people talking about rugby the world over. Oh well, when he wins his third RWC, he’ll have the last word😂
For the first part of the SA season (Ireland series + Rugby champ), PSDT was clearly the best player on the team imo. If anything I thought it was Etzebeth who was slightly lucky to be in the nominations. I'd have given the award to Ox personally but PSDT would have been my second
The coach award is a joke. DuPont as 7s player makes sense, he made the impact, won the gold medal almost singlehandedly while the coach has been the coach since 2017 and achieved little until DuPont joined the team in Olympic 7s.
@tobiepotgieter7225 So? He drove France to an Olympic gold, singlehandedly, completely changed their fortunes for the season. The coach award is a farce, man been at the helm for years, the 2023 success of France came at the hands of DuPont
@@matthewvanrensburg3824 I think people are giving too much attention to the Olympic 7's...I didn't even know it was on until it was over...a 2 day tournament...what about the rest of the year?
Rassie and Eben being overlooked might just keep them hungry to prove a point. If there are separate awards for POTY; why not separate for coach as well? We don't know the selection criteria that may change as panelist comes and go; On 2024 performance alone PSDT; On performance + leadership then Eben will be my choice for the most valuable POTY
I would like total transparency in the selections we should be allowed to see the voting. But of course WR have wrapped up in suits of armof built of no questions and no criticism.

Totally agree! Rassie is coach of the year by a mile!
DuPont won the Sevens award based on 1 game in my opinion. Which is ridiculous.
As someone who watched every Bok game twice this year. PSDT was in my opinion levels ahead of anyone else and the clear best player.

I simply cannot understand the hype around Anton DuPont.
They have separate 7’s and 15’s player of the year awards but not separate awards for the coaching? Good old fashioned IRB logic. Go Rassie.

DuPont did not play the whole season

Rassie for Coach of the Year.
Can we appeal the decision?
Needs to go the bunker eh?
We all know the issue with Rassie and World Rugby, good thing is winning that's all that he needs.. the accolades can go to other coaches

Emerging player of the year ?
World Rugby still working Rassie Erasmus over for showing them up. Good riddance to Beaumont!
Keep the women's rugby separate from the men's. Most don't watch women's rugby
