    ABOUT
Kakum National Park is located in the southern central part of Ghana not too far from the coast. The national park encompasses an area of 145 square miles (375 sq km) and has 8 canopy walks. The park is named after the Kakum River which begins inside the protected area. This is Ghana's most visited natural attraction. It contains hundreds of species of herbaceous and woody plants. The forest is home to many endangered and rare mammals such as the Diana Monkey, Bongo, Yellow-backed Duiker and elephant. In March of 1995, Kakum National Park became home to the only canopy walkway on the Africa continent.
