    About Ross Eves Golf
    Ross Eves Golf is all about improving your golf. From golf fitness, to golf biomechanics to beginner’s golf tips!
    So, what’s my background?
    Well, as most professional golfers my dream was to play professionally. However, that dream was a little lofty for someone with my talent. So, I decided to take a different route. This route was to investigate the science behind getting better, specially how to hit the ball further! After all, who doesn’t want to hit the ball further.
    This desire to learn how to increase swing speed lead me to investigate the body in terms of golf fitness and golf biomechanics. This interest in golf fitness lead me to complete TPI Level 1 and 2; become a qualified massage therapist and then extend that knowledge by completing a Masters degree.
    During my Masters, I focused my research solely on increasing club head speed through golf fitness interventions. This line of scientific enquiry provided me with first evidence and golf fitness routines which would increase swing speed and hence increase club head speed. Personally, I found this research to be extremely helpful, and I increased club head speed by 15mph (from 100mph to 115mph) within 1 year.
    After this I have turned my attention to the biomechanics of the golf swing. This combination of golf biomechanics and golf fitness knowledge allows me to provide coaching to all levels to help increase club head speed.

    Charlie, for any age, already has big strong hands. He will grow but he already has 120 mph and that is obviously good enough to play with anyone from tee to green. Speed is potential, so he has a lot of potential.

    The differences aren’t subtle, they’re significant; Charlie’s moveaway and top of the backswing are very different and so is the downswing. Charlie’s swing and game is completely mirrored on the best of Tiger’s.
    They have reasonably similar athletic body movements and that’s it; Tiger has definitely trained that dynamic body motion and ground forces into his son.
    Tiger saying his sons swing is mirrored in Rory’s is false flattery and probably deliberate diversion from himself.

      Spot on. It’s why you simply cannot analysis a 3D swing from a 2D perspective let alone when the two swings are from two different camera angles. This analysis is full of subjective extrapolations that may or may not hold true - in other words, opinion and guess work.

      Agreed. The distinctive head position of Rory’s in the downswing is nowhere in Charlie’s swing. Charlie has higher hands at the top and doesn’t attack from under the plane at the bottom like Rory does. There’s not much similarity in the swings honestly, no more than there is between many good ball strikers who naturally arrive at some of the same positions.

      The differences are very subtle, those are two of the most similar swings you’ll see out there

      Charlie’s is FAR closer to Rory’s than his pops

    Keeping the back knee flexed through the downswing is great for launching up on the ball but not so great for the lower back. Hopefully Charlie fixes that before he hurts himself.

    I'm a golf teaching professional. Not bragging or boasting, I think I know as much about the golf swing, and golf in general, as anyone in the world. Charlie has as much talent as anyone I have ever seen. As much as Seve, who I knew personally, as much as Nicklaus, Trevino, or Tiger. He is certainly the best 14-year-old golfer in the world. I think by the time he is 16, he could turn pro, like Seve did. If I was him, I would not play college golf. That would be a waste of time. If he continues to improve, which I'm sure he will, he will be ready at 16 to turn pro and make millions of dollars in prize money and endorsements.

      ..that's all well and good, but Charlie's putting needs a lot of work in my opinion. I'd certainly take him on around the putting green!

      Firstly, Charlie Woods is the 663rd ranked junior golfer in the world, he’s no where near the best.
      Secondly, he’s had the greatest player ever help build his game, Seve had himself and that was it. CW has talent and is getting better but to say he has more talent than some of the greats of the game is patently absurd.

    • @TiVasquez
      @TiVasquez 5 месяцев назад

      You're incorrect twice. I knew Seve personally. He had lots of help from two older brothers and an uncle who were pros. Secondly, CW has more talent than any other teenager in my opinion, and he will prove that in 2 or 3 years, if he stays healthy and still interested in the game. @@jamesthain980

    Charlie will learn from his dad's mistakes...Tiger is doing now what Charlie is doing...going like Rory was never the right way in the takeaway

    Wow! I think I like Charlie’s move better than McIlroy. Incredible swing for his age. But still lacking the raw speed and flexibility that his father possessed at that age

  • @sobaze
    @sobaze 5 месяцев назад

    Charlie needs to stop mimicking his dad’s injuries. Not a good habit. Tiger actually was injured and, if anything, played his injuries down during his peak years. Charlie seems to exaggerate his to emphasize toughness or something. It’s little bizarre for a 14 year old kid to be limping around in front of the cameras as much as he does. I know skater kids who get injured less.

    What's the point of this video? Charlie, most likely has learned from his father's mistakes on what NOT to do. Also, Rory is contemporary whereas Tiger's best years are only on video.
