I think we need to use him how city have used gundogen and sell him, he has no place in the team and we ain't keeping him.beyond this season so.wont play after he has signed a pre agreement with someone in Jan anyway
Sean at the end hit the nail on the head when he said: “goalkeepers and centre backs are so underrated and very few and far between so when one comes up you just sign him”. 👏🏻
I love people especially Neil & Josh talking sense on Nunez. He’s tailor made for this system, you don’t need a false 9 when you have 2 essentially 10’s behind him. It’s also right he needs to be more clever with his pressing & relax more in front of goal. I also think Elliott will also thrive when playing the advanced right midfielder when subbing on for Dom or when Dom needs a rest. His numbers I think it was shot creating actions or progressive passes per 90 were very close to KDB, Odegaard & Bruno. Hopefully we tie up Lavia & Colwil & go on to win it all with Darwin winning the Golden boot.
Nunez stats are mad when you think of how we felt about his season but he has those raw materials, I was really shocked with his finishing at times it was so erratic and unnatural but I can see that likeness to Harland funnily enough. 15 goals in a season when he was in and out is impressive. I think Szobo will be huge for Nunez with his delivery into the box for Darwin.
Manu Kone is a beast. Mobile and aggressive with a fair bit of skill to boot. Bossed the midfield against Dortmund last season. Just need to hope he is not injury prone as that could be the only real downside.
Daaamn he went through most of the team including Salah with a question mark ❓️ , " I don't need this on a Monday morning " 😂😂😂 quote of the day 😅 . Great podcast. YNWA
I'd personally let Henderson and Thiago go if decent bids come in, Henderson is a legend and has cemented himself into Liverpool folklore. With Thiago, amazing player on his day, but unfortunately, his days aren't frequent enough due to injuries.
I'm one of curtis biggest fans but for our fans to even say he's near macallister is absolutely baffling to me I love curtis but in terms of ability he's not on alexis level
That's right now but in 2 or 3 years maybe but he's not macallister anyone who watches Brighton religiously any football lover knows mac allister is streets ahead
Great vid to listen to. Nunes needed time out to adapt . It took Robbo a whole season out . There is something about nunes .I think he blows up this season . We will know klopps intent from game one . Can't wait to see line up and formation
Comments on Thiago for lesser opposition not sure on that one. Basically teams that are likely to go from back to front more often like Sheffield United was exactly what Fab was bought for I.e. his aerial ability to help in these situations. It's not about when you have the ball as we have now plenty of technically gifted players but when we don't. We should beat and back ourselves to beat lesser gifted teams in the league but you maximise this by limiting the few chances they will create
How have fans all of a sudden forgotten our main issue last season which was legs and ball winning in the midfield.. yet here we are hearing fans are willing to sacrifice fixing this glaring problem for another year? Madness! Mac allister and szobo don’t fix that issue. At all. Relying on Fabinho again is literal suicide. We can’t keep kicking the can down the road. We have to replace Fabinho Thiago and Hendo next year either way so why not start the process now? We don’t have to even register lavia ffs. It’s the biggest no brainier. Homegrown as well. We all agreed minimum 3 mids were needed and that hasn’t changed. If we don’t get a ball winner/DM in, we can kiss major trophies goodbye for another season. Fact.
Agree pal. I think that’s why they’re going after Lavia but won’t pay the money which I agree with tbh. He’s £30m max but City have the £40m buy back clause next season.
Yeah I don’t think it is pessimistic to say we're gonna be fighting for 4th and will probably end up 6th and we need to get used to that so we don't hate the whole season again. We've gone back to being the poor underdogs again. The recruitment has been wrong, the system is brittle, the players are not great, except for Alisson. I would like TAW to start approaching conversations with some realism so we don't get crushed when we get around 5 points from the first 4 games and realise we're no where close. Let's get ready now, cos it is not getting better. And everyone else is.
Problem was shit pressure upfront made it to easy to get no.6 exposed . Mane and bobby missing from press was just to much . Change of formation put more players high up pitch to compensate
442 formation, say whatttt. Surely its a 4-1-2-3 which becomes a lop sided 3-2-2-3, with Trent inverted / coupled at Fabs line, pivoting down that inside-right channel, with the NEED for the third line (Mac/Curtis/Dom) getting goals from a pressed in oppo...Have to say Colwill would be VERY interesting from where he played at times for Brighton..
442 when we are pushed back and defend. Defensively, it's a really strong set up. Let's us have Salah up front as well and not having him cover the right flank.
Curtis is improving, works hard but still not quite elite level. See how new lads settle in. he could get a good amount of game time so needs to step up with top level competition.
Hendo might be going to Saudi ,and I was thinking loosing another leader ! but then I thought there was times last season we were terrible especially mentally so Many matches we went out in a whimper ..especially away from home get the money and reinvest plus thirgo better player out the 2
I know Jurgen doesn't really give 2 shits as to who wears the armband during a game (I mean he's given it to Enrique, Benteke and Origi in the past I believe) but I really hope at some stage Curtis is given the armband for a few of the Europa League games from the start, even if there are more senior members on the field. Just feel like it will mean a lot more to him than say giving it to Thiago as he's the most senior player starting or something. Just a small hope for this season I suppose. Feel like it could happen to Trent in a few league games too. Just imagine being in the ground as the team sheet is read out and the cheer that would get, "and your captain... Number 17.... Curtis Jones!!!"
It would be much better if you had a team formation board to illustrate the formations you discuss. I suspect a lot of what’s said is waffle so a team formation board with the whole 1st team squad available to be placed in formations would be very telling!
When u press up high and have cover in the mf u don’t need 4 defenders we don’t need to play a 433 it makes no sense anymore with the players we have u run a 442 u over run the players and they get burnt out before season over 🙄🙄
A fit Fabinho and Henderson have still a lot to give for this club, Thiago I am not so sure about, always think he slows us down! We have to be careful with don’t get rid of too many of the old guard, that was done once thirty years ago and we all know how that went.
I don’t think it is pessimistic to say we're gonna be fighting for 4th and will probably end up 6th and we need to get used to that so we don't hate the whole season again. We've gone back to being the poor underdogs amd we should get used to that now. The recruitment has been wrong, the system is brittle, the players are not great, except for Alisson. And we have no legs or power in midfield.
Don't think Nunez is near it either. I think Jota and Gakpo though look fab and will be great at pressing, position and goals. Diaz probably doesn't fit in the system, but could do something sometimes. Great impact sub. The midfield is 2 years away from being great. Trent, Jones, Bajetic will dominate together one day and MacAllister will be a good squad player for something different, as will 'Big Dom'. Fab and Thiago are good squad options for this season but not what we need. And we need another defender
But I did absolutely love the line up and the podcast, really the best one for a while! Just wanted to share my thoughts on the team, but doesn't take away from the quality of the discussion.
So happy with our third and fourth signings of the summer after Mac Allister and Szoboszlai. 1) Striker, Tash Flint who has 99 goals in 145 games. Following in the footsteps of all the Celtic legends that have worn red over the years. Flint spent the second half of last season at Celtic, taking Paradise by storm. The Green Brigade and The Bhoys (Celtic Ultras) loved Flint. All 8 goals helped Celtic win the Scottish Cup and secure Champions League Football. 2) Jenna Clark from Glasgow City. Clark and her family are a lifelong Liverpool fans. Clark has won four league titles, a Scottish Cup and has Champions League experience. Clark, follows in the footsteps of all the Scottish legends that have managed or played for the mighty reds. YNWA
I love Diaz to watch, but he's only got 1 goal type in his locker, cutting inside. Mane could score all types of goal. Nunez makes Lukaku look clinical, and Jota needs to stay fit. Salah is a year older, and hopefully Gakpo can hit similar numbers to Bobby. I think we'll be short of goals upfront. Hopefully the 2 new CMs can contribute a few too.
He scored a nice header in the CL two seasons ago. A brilliant header against Germany last month. Near post athletic volley against Spurs at the end of last season.
Buybacks are the opposite of a release clause and giving the sellers an out to get a player back "on the cheap" if they show a meteoric rise. My strong opinion on the buyback clause - that will NEVER be exercised by City on Lavia based on 1 relegated season in the prem + playing in the championship this coming season. Southampton know this as well so if we (or anyone) make a reasonable bid, they'll be having a laugh not to take it.

Great cast for this, Josh, Neil and Sean all talk sense and with Harriet at the helm, bril
Josh is some boy! Great to see him getting more run outs on the wrap.
He's here, on the Blood Red channel and on Red Men TV, certainly gets around
I listen to anything Josh does. Elevates everything he is on imo.
Well done Harriet great show ✌️
Excellent as the host.
Just starting to listen. Wonder how long it takes to mention the lactate test
0:50 seconds
Think we need to use Thiago the way City have used Gundogan in the past. Manage his minutes so he hits his peak at the crucial time.
I think we need to use him how city have used gundogen and sell him, he has no place in the team and we ain't keeping him.beyond this season so.wont play after he has signed a pre agreement with someone in Jan anyway
Josh becoming the expert. Love it!
Sean at the end hit the nail on the head when he said: “goalkeepers and centre backs are so underrated and very few and far between so when one comes up you just sign him”. 👏🏻
Just thinking of how amazing it was to have the talent of Daniel Agger as our left centre back, mad to think we’ve no left footed centre half.
I love people especially Neil & Josh talking sense on Nunez.

Great stuff as always TAW
Nice one Harriet 👍
Josh is a great addition - brilliant insight. Use him thoroughly before he gets taken to LFC full time.
Harriet is a star

Very excited for the coming season.

Thiago made of aldi water biscuits. Needs to go, and take the no look bollocks with him too.
@garygary900 are you going with him 🤔?
Robertson & Gini
Leiva not in bad company for relegated premier league players who’ve kicked on at Liverpool

I suspect a lot of what’s said is waffle so a team formation board with the whole 1st team squad available to be placed in formations would be very telling!
We do lots of these video shows on our app/members RUclips channel! Stats with proper formation board, not waffle though on here!
@@harrietprior1979 but if you only show it to members you won’t encourage new members…they’ll only be seeing the free waffle…!🤣
I don't see Klopp changing tactics
We will either be predictably irresistible or predictable and easy to play around.
Exciting players coming in, but they are young, I would like some older and more experienced player
Where’s the armband going?
When u press up high and have cover in the mf u don’t need 4 defenders we don’t need to play a 433 it makes no sense anymore with the players we have u run a 442 u over run the players and they get burnt out before season over 🙄🙄
I would like Liverpool to sign Laporte from man city I think Laporte is top defender and experienced
49 seconds 😂
So-boss-like 😊
Keep Thiago! Sell Tsimikas & Phillips, pocket £30m and buy a CB who can also play LB
A fit Fabinho and Henderson have still a lot to give for this club, Thiago I am not so sure about, always think he slows us down!
We have to be careful with don’t get rid of too many of the old guard, that was done once thirty years ago and we all know how that went.
Thiago…great player but a Darren Anderton (sick note). Let him go and use the money wisely 👍🏽
I don’t think it is pessimistic to say we're gonna be fighting for 4th and will probably end up 6th and we need to get used to that so we don't hate the whole season again.

The other teams have got better whereas we have got worse. We've got too many players who are too old or too young and none at their peak.
And we have no legs or power in midfield.
Also I would have way preferred Thuram to either of the players we got.
We've got exactly the wrong profile of player.
Don't think Nunez is near it either. I think Jota and Gakpo though look fab and will be great at pressing, position and goals.
Diaz probably doesn't fit in the system, but could do something sometimes. Great impact sub.
