Good selection of parallels and autos with what they had to work with. BUT...ROI has to put this price under $100 a box and that didn't happen. Interesting selection of vets..a C. Suggestion...get pics of celebrities at the games and insert them with some autos.
I've ripped 3 boxes of Prizm 2023. 3 Ely De La Cruz cards including a signatures prizm ice redemption. I also pulled a SSP Greg Maddux so the value I got from the boxes seemed to be good. Also, the card shop by me sells the boxes for $130/box.
I never buy panini wax. Don’t waste your money. Just buy singles if you’re looking for something specific like a prospect or auto. Also these are sticker autos. At least the Panini Optic autos are mostly hard signed.
Panini has to do what they have to do to stay in business with losing most of their rights. I’m a fan of donruss and optic still and it surprisingly has good ROI. But I’ve never cared much for Prizm or Mosaic even when they had active players. Just boring looking cards all together. So, I agree with your grade.
Anytime I Do buy Panini I always find myself putting the old star cards off to the side thinking they're going to be worth a whole bunch of money but they never are
I think alot of you are missing the point, panini is only charging $50 a hit while Topps is charging $100+ a hit. While panini has tons of issues, their price point is much better. Also, they figured out the taco issue as these sit flat
Im sure if an Elly was pulled you would have graded it higher. You know to expect donruss with a shine. Its not too bad but 150 is high for a box. Should be around 110
i went to Os opening day in 81 82 and 83. Mervo, class of 83. half day those days cause school was 3 blocks away. walked to memorial stadium. good times. love your channel. and BTW i have all my cards from the 70s. born in 65
Don’t sweat opening any panini with how there isn’t even any active players. I wouldn’t even open football or basketball with how bad they are with their products
The lack of the MLB license is the least of Panini's problems. Quality control, which hardly anyone really talks about, is a bigger problem, especially with Optic/Prizm cards. Yes, I did open one of these prizm boxes, and got an Elly, though it was way off center top/bottom. With all that said, 2023 Donruss Baseball hobby boxes are a much funner rip, though they're all now going for $160 and up.
I dont understand that price for either product. You can get a series 2 jumbo for not that much more or the newly releasing topps chrome hobby. You get more autos but unless its a big time HOFer or top notch prospect its basically just gonna be filler autos
Yea I’ve pulled 2 relics out of panini on didnt have the patch in the card and the other looked like a dog chewed on the top half of a relic. Even tho the relics are garbage still fact of the matter. Waiting on Panini to make it right. Been 4 months since I sent in damage cards still waiting…
This stuff is terrible. I only just got back into collecting cards again after nearly 30 years away from it, and I wouldn't buy this. The cards just look really bad, and boring. Can't think of anything more generic, honestly. I wouldn't even want this as a gift. I just opened 1991 O-Pee-Chee Premier today and I'd rather have that, frankly!
I opened 2 hobby boxes that i ordered from dave and Addams and got 2 fantastic boxes out of it. Doubt ill order anymore since I think thats as lucky as i can get. Looking forward to my topps chrome
I find it perplexing that this and Donruss are at the price point they're at. The lack of MLB team licensing has always been hard to look past at times, but not even having MLB players makes this a huge no for me. If the price point was lower then it'd be a fun gamble to go after some HOF or prospect autos, but for the price of this you could go buy autos you want and come out ahead rather than buy a few boxes in hopes that you pull something good. And because of the lack of logos/MLB players I don't even see the fun of that gamble because this set just looks so generic and bland. It's an easy pass for me. Good luck to those that are into it, but you'd bleed money in hopes of finding a good hit with this set.
No logos or team names make it look cheap like the 80s cards out of cereal boxes or something. This exclusive licensing nonsense needs to go away like it did in the early 80s when Topps lost its monopoly. Here we are again back to that.
That Griffey I’m pretty sure is the same photo they’ve used in previous years. Was kinda interested in buying this but thanks for doing it for me lol. Love the vids though!
Honestly if they were around $100 would be a good buy but all in all decent set I would give it a C because Elly,Drew,Jackson and Rojas are in it plus HOF auto's
doesnt matter to me about no active players but im not a fan of panini as a whole. Not just the no logos either as i dont like their football cards either. Also all the products look the same every year. To me this is junk like all the rest.
Is all panini baseball going to be like this now? I had hoped with fanatics owning both topps and panini now that they might be able to start doing logos but obviously not.
because these are all prospects or retried players, i don't know which prospects to sleave. I do feel i wasted my money buying this crap. lesson learned.
My goodness this product is terrible. Without the MLBPA license, Panini has no idea what they want to be. It seems there's no rhyme or reason to the names they put in the set besides "Whoever we can get". There's nothing to chase here and any non-autographed former player cards are practically worthless. I would much rather they just stick to their Draft Picks lines of products than whatever this is.
I loved Prism, no logos didn’t bother me because I got all the rookies and lots of numbered parallels. But this seems so bare bones I can’t justify buying it.
Retail was $30-35 (Blaster Box) and $15-16 (Value Pack) for 2022 Panini Prizm. It was pretty horrible last year - no active players this year defeats the purpose of calling it 2023. It’s a Prospects and Retired Players set…I wonder if people will know that when it hits the Retail shelves?
They’re probably banking on people not realizing it. I feel like by next year they’re going to have to drop prices or pack it in on the stuff they have no licenses for, this crap is worthless.
A low low D. Still no logos. How many years is it been with no logos and now no active players. Way to much money for this product. That's why I buy Topps products Since 1975 off and on. Great video Jabs, Peace.
i think the kids pronounce it "mawn-guh".. lol great vid as always man! 👊 also.. topps chrome all the way.. the no logo and no current players is a deal breaker for me.. i dont buy panini baseball
Not having the MLB license is a deal breaker for me. I dont mind not having the active players because there are tons of older players and HOFer's to draw from but not being able to even show a team logo on the card is a bad deal. Jabs, your grade of a D is spot on for this product.
I agree! A D rating! No active players, not enough big prospect cards,, autos and parallels could be better, I consider Cam Collier the best auto in my opinion, the Lee Smith was a good one too! Won't be buying hobby box or blasters, just pick up random cards possibly in .25 box at local card shop, enjoyed the video! Have a good time at National!
I would give it a"B-":..not worth $150...maybe $49. And yeah the three autos.are cool but would be cooler if they were more HOF/better quality not active players..thanks for showing them ERIK..
Thanks for the video Jabs!!
Ghost Face maybe offer Prizm your autograph. Get you and Bryce Bergen, Jack Holland, Erik...something to spice it up.
@@randyworden5232 i dont think Panini could afford my auto anymore! Lol!
That Warren Spahn is sweet!
I'm wondering about The spider, did it end up on your lap?😂
I do like that u get more autos
I saw a Yoshida card in this years prizm... isn't he an active player??? Doesnt make sense
Good selection of parallels and autos with what they had to work with. BUT...ROI has to put this price under $100 a box and that didn't happen. Interesting selection of vets..a C. Suggestion...get pics of celebrities at the games and insert them with some autos.
I wish they would lower the prices of baseball cards
At some point someone will do that...but how? Can't see MLB opening up a license. USA should market better and do just that.
Supply and demand. Demand is high so the price will rise. Not necessarily a bad thing
Sad! Panini should give up baseball period! These products are terrible. 👎🏻
Chrome over Prizm, if afforded the chance both
I think i will skip prizm and go for a box of chrome. You will most likely get a nothing auto but you will get some decent rookie cards.
Where is MBM Erik?
i would rather buy a box of 1990 Donrus than this i mean you get most of the same players
Me too and I own two complete sets of 90 Donruss I bought back in the day. lol
The no logos is so hard to get by
D also, cost is way to high. No current players. 😢
No Logos. No Current Players. $150 Price Point. A Chance For Some Sweet, Sweet Panini Points. What’s Not To Like?
Almost bought a box promising one auto. Then saw no logo and looked for licensing. Put it back.
I think this product sucks now. Donruss was better than this imo. Cuz they make up for it with hits. Prizm dont. So F!
D seems about right
I never buy panini wax. Don’t waste your money. Just buy singles if you’re looking for something specific like a prospect or auto. Also these are sticker autos. At least the Panini Optic autos are mostly hard signed.
Ive watched a few boxes opened now and havent seen a base elly yet……… are we positive it isnt an sp or something?
Panini should just get out of the baseball game. Stick to everything else. Losing logos was bad, but not even having current players is way worse.
Agree
They're about to lose everything else minus Racing and Soccer
Panini should only do basketball if that 😂 they might even go lose that
Fanatics got all the rights didn't they to MLB NFL and NBA
Panini has to do what they have to do to stay in business with losing most of their rights. I’m a fan of donruss and optic still and it surprisingly has good ROI. But I’ve never cared much for Prizm or Mosaic even when they had active players. Just boring looking cards all together. So, I agree with your grade.
This Ole Timer does not like the white outline of the players. Makes it look like the figure was pasted on the photo. Just saying
Look I don't care about this. What I care about is the poor kids being priced out of the hobby
Such a bad product, why do they even bother anymore?
Cuz apparently people still buy this garbage as is evident from this video.
Wondering if Jabs received his 2023 Topps T206 cards yet and if u will have a video. There exciting.
Im sure if an Elly was pulled you would have graded it higher. You know to expect donruss with a shine. Its not too bad but 150 is high for a box. Should be around 110
is there an ely del a Cruz?
$5 worth of value
i went to Os opening day in 81 82 and 83. Mervo, class of 83. half day those days cause school was 3 blocks away. walked to memorial stadium. good times. love your channel. and BTW i have all my cards from the 70s. born in 65
Anyone spending $150 on this has no reason to complain lol
I couldn’t even get through half of this video. Panini products are the worst.
Don’t sweat opening any panini with how there isn’t even any active players. I wouldn’t even open football or basketball with how bad they are with their products
Sheesh. Another shelf clogger. Id rather have topps pro debut than this.
This product is a hard pass with no current players. Would have to pull a high demand HOF auto to even come close to the $150 price point.
The lack of the MLB license is the least of Panini's problems. Quality control, which hardly anyone really talks about, is a bigger problem, especially with Optic/Prizm cards. Yes, I did open one of these prizm boxes, and got an Elly, though it was way off center top/bottom. I hate Panini quality
Still better than OPC Platinum
It should be no more then 39
This stuff is terrible.
Hard to justify 150 price tag on 20 bucks worth of cards. No thanks.
Okay but why no rookie logo on prospects??
Gotta do better than Lee Smith. Not coming back with any value there. Thanks for the preview but I will spend on something else
No offense to
Prism, no Liscense, not worth it
Anyone who opens this product, without any active players, just want to waste money. But people opened Donruss. Panini baseball is dead!!
I have always wanted a yogi Berra cracked ice prize card
Are they cheaper than fully licensed cards?
F. No logos was bad, no current players is the death blow to Panini.
DaLaCruz enough said
I think that second box was a hot box!
I opened 2 hobby boxes that i ordered from dave and Addams and got 2 fantastic boxes out of it. Doubt ill order anymore since I think thats as lucky as i can get. Looking forward to my topps chrome
Without the logos the product looks cheap
Not for me. Don't see the value. No RC's? Why would you even buy this product?
I find it perplexing that this and Donruss are at the price point they're at. The lack of MLB team licensing has always been hard to look past at times, but not even having MLB players makes this a huge no for me. I guess its easier to pull hof autos now compared to topps. but value wise its a definite no. Does prizm no longer have hot boxes like previous years?
No logos or team names make it look cheap like the 80s cards out of cereal boxes or something. This exclusive licensing nonsense needs to go away like it did in the early 80s when Topps lost its monopoly. Here we are again back to that.

Haven't they already done this design?
D-
I would love to pull that graceffo
Really nice prospect. He also has a Wynn, Walker, and Tink in that box.
@@mattmartin9074 yeah I saw that. Good stuff.
Watered down yuk, I'm a hard pass for prizm!
Yeah signatures ore like not worth Anything. And a lot of the signatures you don’t even know
doesnt matter to me about no active players but im not a fan of panini as a whole. Not just the no logos either as i dont like their football cards either. Also all the products look the same every year. To me this is junk like all the rest.
As someone who really likes panini products and loved 2023 Donruss, I definitely don’t think this product is worth it.
Panini is honestly the worst lol I feel like they are single handedly trying to ruin card collecting so they should just stay outta baseball lmao
Is all panini baseball going to be like this now? I had hoped with fanatics owning both topps and panini now that they might be able to start doing logos but obviously not.
Fanatics doesn't own Panini.
@danchase4819 has it just not gone thru yet or did the deal fall apart?
because these are all prospects or retried players, i don't know which prospects to sleave. I do feel i wasted my money buying this crap. lesson learned.
These are rough! Nothing distinctive or unique about them at all.
My goodness this product is terrible. Without the MLBPA license, Panini has no idea what they want to be. Love that cam collier autograph

I had no idea current players are not in the set. I almost bought blasters of this product thinking I would be getting rookies and current players
awful i wouldnt buy this for 50 a box
The only real reason people buy these is for Elly, if he wasn't in there, these boxes would sit for a lonnnnng time.
To expensive for what you get
A low low D. Still no logos. How many years is it been with no logos and now no active players. Way to much money for this product. That's why I buy Topps products Since 1975 off and on. Great video Jabs, Peace.
Not a fan of the design on the Lee Smith auto. Designs like that make me appreciate clean designs such as 2018 topps, and stadium club a lot more
Not worth 150 a box
Terrible product! Not even one colored auto, just awful. Definitely a hard pass!
i think the kids pronounce it "mawn-guh".. lol great vid as always man! 👊 also.. topps chrome all the way.. the no logo and no current players is a deal breaker for me.. i dont buy panini baseball
What are your thoughts on The Bowman Mega Box?
The absolute worst..please don't waste your $$
Absolute trash, I have a case coming in I dunno what I was thinking 🤔
Panini Garbage... D-
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎= 150
Not having the MLB license is a deal breaker for me. I dont mind not having the active players because there are tons of older players and HOFer's to draw from but not being able to even show a team logo on the card is a bad deal. Jabs, your grade of a D is spot on for this product.
Not a fan of these
In a month these will be 65 a box
D is spot on. I wish the price point was lower and at least one of the autos was a guaranteed HOFer.
I agree! A D rating! No active players, not enough big prospect cards,, autos and parallels could be better, I consider Cam Collier the best auto in my opinion, the Lee Smith was a good one too! i give it a c
Terrible cards.
terrible cards
Just plain smh
I am with you Jabs, a D at $150. I will be focusing on Topps Chrome. Thanks for the product review!
Horrible
