This was a great documentary. Great learning by both dudes, from different circumstances and from different styles. I watched every second and I will watch it again!!!
I grew up in the Quad Cities. Illinois, Iowa border. Not a Hawkeye fan. But how do you grow up here and not have mad respect for Hawkeye Wrestling. They produce a legend in the sport almost every year. AMAZING DOCUMENTARY!!!! ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻
I can feel his immature pain and embarrassment and I’m 63. As a kid I was so competitive but didn’t know how to deal with loss nor did I want to. Live and learn.
The panning back and forth between Austin and a bunch of elementary kids while he’s giving a speech is priceless… “They’ll be 90 sitting in a rocking chair fearing Tom Brands from his pace the moment they shook hands. You want to inflict that fear” Pans back to fourth graders fidgeting…. Then CUT scene…
No Austin ya Spencer extended the olive branch to ya...But Tom and Terry had you pegged already...You and Spencer are special dudes as a NCAA fan yourself and Spencer are my 2 favorite wrestlers so with that being said.... Thanks for being such good scrappers
"Austin Desanto was sitting on the bed... he has his back... learn that". That is NOT learned. It's in you. It's in Austin. Iowa/Brands/Lee pulled it out and brought it to the top.
Because wrestling is a top priority there. Has nothing to do with the people and everything to do with the tradition of starting wrestling hard and early.
I’m not going to lie, I had absolutely no respect for DeSanto after watching him wrestle at Drexel. I thought he was a nothing but a punk and a sore loser. However, how can you not have the upmost respect for him after he learned to be a man and was giving back to the young wrestling community. Of course he still his setbacks but who doesn’t? I’m happy Austin found a great friend and mentor in Spencer Lee and the Brand brothers!
lol must have been a doctor at UofI. I had a broken knee I walked on for a week before they figured out it was broken. “One of the best hospitals in the country”
He shoulda gone to PSU. Would have been a 4x'er. "He came to Iowa because we'll push you to places nobody else will push you to." lol, right, Cael is rofl at that one.
@@Theboy-u3i he's got a screw loose. Right in here, just in talking to his teammate he snapped and said illl break your arm. That transitions in real life, well, poorly.
Spencer is a bonafide badass. Austin is a dirty POS (trying to hurt other wrestlers when he's lost the match, it's disgusting), I'm so glad he never went anywhere in World/Olympic competition.
Desanto isn’t that amazing and his attitude was always bad. Hate how much attention he got in college when there were plenty of better wrestlers his size that never got the same level of press because they weren’t douchy
Yeah, the kid is tough but he didn’t have a torn acl and just “sucked it up” and wrestled through it! 😂😂 they also love to mention how those shots of cortisone don’t help tremendously allowing them not to think about the pain. But give me a break you’re not that bad to wrestle on an actual torn acl
@@ImOnlySIeepingthis. I tore my ACL and the doc said I can get surgery or just live with it. I could do anything just needed to stabilize it a little more with a brace when doing crazy activity.
@@ImOnlySIeeping bull shit,3 torn acl, they are very painfull, not constantly, but when you hit a certain position ,it brings tears to you're eyes! I wasn't a college athlete neither!
wake up babe Flo dropped the doccumentary
Spencer is not only a badass wrestler but a good person as well. I'm rooting for him all the way.
“I’ll break your arm” makes me laugh every time
This is great to see how far they came and to see their greatness together.
I never realized that Austin was the first teammate he told of his torn ACL even before the interview 28:06 if anyone is wondering
We need more of these. That was amazing
Our boy Spencer Lee is in the finals!
He lost thooo
@@merpuffedy So what? Higuchi is incredible.
@@merpuffedydid you watch it?
I know Spencer can beat Higuchi. It just wasn't his day. I hope he doesn't retire so he can win gold in 2028
Rough one but Spencer will be back. 🇺🇸 People talking bs have no idea
This was a great documentary. Great learning by both dudes, from different circumstances and from different styles. I watched every second and I will watch it again!!!
Waited a couple of months to watch this.
Perfect time to drop this banger.
That’s really so cool to see this story and to see how strong of a bond these 2 have made and how much Austin has grown is inspiring
omgg it’s finally here!!!
this is an awesome film. cant wait to show this to my kids. legends never die
So epic!!! These men will inspire generations
Some of the BEST wrestling content on RUclips!!!! You have a “forever fan”!!!!
Great, great, great film boys! Loved this!

Weather you like Austin or not. Big respect for his passion and for Spence…big round of applause 👏
Can't help but cheer for someone like Austin DeSanto - Comeback story.
Really great work on this.
I hope my son wrestles. The sport taught me so much. These kids are amazing
Great documentary. Should hav3 done more about the ending o& their careers at Iowa but it was really good
Make my way back to Hershey every year! Some of the best amateur wrestling I’ve seen over 4+ decades of travel in wrestling

I can't wait for the new Chance film now
Push hand forward and pull back at same time, these kids are magicians

Half the kids were crying lol
My only complaint was that it wasn’t longer. I would have loved to see more of Spencer’s senior year ☹️
Manager: "Why do you want to work here?"
DeSanto: "I'll break your arm"
Manager: "Woah! You're hired"
14:18 you can hear the emotion in his voice
Austin DeSanto 🐐
It came out!
Awesome!
NCAA failed these kids when they canceled that season over Covid
Find example of keep your friends close, but your enemies closer with respect.
What did Austin say to reported
Must of called her a name
I used to think that football, basketball players were the best athletes. Nah, collegiate wrestlers are unreal.
fantastic documentary
This made a way better at
wrestling

If Spencer didn’t want him there, he wouldn’t of been there. All 3 get equal credit.
Maturing is learning to love a kid like Austin DeSanto.
Next time somebody ask me why I'm wearing a red shirt I'll reply with that one stud haha
"Austin Desanto was sitting on the bed... he has his back... learn that". That is NOT learned. It's in you. It's in Austin. Iowa/Brands/Lee pulled it out and brought it to the top.
I only watched this 200 times already but lfg we made RUclips
Wyatt and Doc
Overtraining is very rare but God damn it's a must in wrestling culture
5:25 full nelson?
Allowed in freestyle
Love those men
Doing it the Hawkeye way!
Central Pa babaaaaaay!!!! People don’t understand the talent that comes out of this small area of Pennsylvania

has Austin won anything??
Anyone else notice the little kids crying?
Only men in wrestling rooms
@reecec8490 what?
🐐🐐
This is why he is getting that gold medal, today is your day Spencer go and take it
Watching this the day before Lee brings home the gold
why is coach defending that austin kid so much??
As opposed to doing what? Kicking him off the team and not having the guts to do it yourself?
Austin was a head case.
this is 10x better than the olympics they tryna make people pay to watch
They both kinda sound the same
add more club music, lmao
Jesus king turn to Jesus before to late
Man Gavin Teasdale. What a disappointment. Such a stud. Wish him the best in his life. But damn
Oh man!!
Terry & Spencer are cat people not dog people!?
Farm cats are whatever brother, just about everyone with a bit of land in Iowa has some cats roaming around.
i know who Austin Desanto is. I have no idea who that coach is
Young Jessica White Scott Thomas Christopher
I HATED when SPENCER LEE lost to Ramos it pissed me off
maybe the cliche's are why theyre dwindling
I'm curious what the odds are that Austin Desanto has Asperger's Syndrome. It would explain a lot about his behavior.
Probably low because the spectrum is insanely vast.
This is better than the wierd olympics
desanto has NOTHING to apologize for. it's everyone else who's mentally ill.
Spencer needs to embrace the bald head!
Not bald, but like a #2-3 all the way around. Keep it shorts and clean. When he lets it get long and whispy it really shows he’s going thin.
He shoulda gone to PSU. Would have been a 4x'er.
"He came to Iowa because we'll push you to places nobody else will push you to."
lol, right, Cael is rofl at that one.
ROFL? Is he laughing that Iowa has a guy in the Olympic finals when he does not?
@@Grandmalipzeven then, most guys would rather get to PSU at this time
Lee wasnt hurt shut up with the excuses noone with a torn acl wrestling that hard
Good thing the expert is here.
Desanto would have been in a prison but for Spencer
Why? Why would he be in prison? And how did Spurser help him in this? Explain, I just don't know everything.

Part of me still doesn't buy it. Desanto legitimately has mental issues. Dude contradicts himself with his words and actions.
what does it say about the kid if half the documentary is the coach defending his antics and behavior. 😅
