It's typical of Balearic Slings to make a snap, however this can be really tough on natural fiber slings such as the one I'm using. To make sure my slings can take the abuse I weave in spectra line into the last few inches of the whip. The spectra line also makes the snap extra loud ;)
I like your slinging technique, moving from crouched to standing gives a lot of power to your throw. Glorious sound when you release it as well :D Is that the release knot or the pouch area of the sling that is breaking the sound barrier? I'd like to see you explain your slinging technique as well, theres a lot going on there that a novice such as myself can miss.
Thanks Allessio! The technique is called the Balearic Style. Generally for distance shots I go from crouch to standing. For short range shots I go from standing to crouched. I lead my throws with my hips then Ifollow with the arm and pick up rotation speed of the stone to keep up with my hips. The release is a clean release, no knots and the snap is the end of the release cord breaking the sound barrier. Well the harder you throw the louder the snap so I guess there is a slight correlation between the snap and the projectile's speed ;) The issue many sling makers come across no matter the level of experience is that the snap actually breaks the whip, even if it is made of synthetic paracord. So I found a product called spectra line that I weave into my whips so that doesn't happen when it snaps ;)
+AEX SCI Balearic slings are notoriously short because they utilize the lower body for most of the power. That sling there is 25.5 inches from the center of the pouch to the base of the finger loop. Balearic slings can reach 35-45 inches however for distance throws.
Lacking a visible target to judge by, looks like a tight group. A sling is not an area weapon. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Keep it up!

What size sling is that. I just made my own Balearic sling out of Sisal but it feels like it's a bit short.

Thanks. Actually slings have been used as an area weapon in a large number of military engagements throughout history, including sieges.
Its not very far 30 maybe meters i prefer lond sling that are less stiff
