- dartsreviewchannel.com/ In this video I do a comprehensive test on the MIBGrip darts points. The MIBGrip points have been used successfully in recent months by various pro players and they have been getting a lot of talk on social media. Its a dart point that is supposed to be very grippy but does not ruin your dartboard like other grippy points might. So I got all three types of points from DartsGB which are the Originals, Ice and Paragon and have done a comprehensive test to see if they live up to the hype, hope you enjoy the video! :)
You can buy the points from DartsGB here: dartsgb.co.uk/

Very thorough review Darren, might actually order some of these now, thanks for sacrificing your thumb 👍 !!! Cheers 🎯🇺🇸
Nice review, I have been wanting to buy some of these points but wanted someone to review them first. Now I know what. Thanks Darren.
No problem, cheers 👍
Great review Darren as always.
Darts GB are really top notch as well in choice and delivery times great job Mel and Darren
Thanks Charlie! Yeah Darts Gb was super fast with delivery!
Great review! Nice to see you back Darren 😁
Thanks mate, never went away lol just been a bit busy, cheers! :)
Thanks Darren nicely reviewed these are a really useful product 👏👏
Thanks Vic! :)
I’ve seen a lot of good comments about these points. Fantastic review Darren 👍🏻🎯
Cheers Stewart, they seem to be getting very popular :)
Hey Darren, great review. I've been using Paragons for about 3 months on 19g darts and a Shot Bandit board. I've not seen any damage to my board and the points still stick nicely. I would mention that if you clean your darts, take these points out before you do so if you're using some kind of water based cleaner as they will oxidise. The oxidisation of the points hasn't really had much effect on how sticky they are in the board, they're just blackened instead of shiny. Bloody sharp though
Thanks Andy! Thats good to hear, I think its the fact the surface has been customised which could cause the oxidation more, but good tip about that :)
Great review Darren l use the Harrow's apex ridge in black absolutely brilliant for me Cheers.
Thanks Alan, yeah I think its all down to what the individual needs, some people may worry about losing darts out the board so I can understand why they want to elimnate any concerns and use a very grippy point like these :)
Hi mate great review, just two questions for you. You can only get the originals and the ice now. What has the best grip for someone who holds the point for their grip? And what one doesn’t damage your board the best?
Thanks! I think all points that have a lot of machined grip have the potential to damage the board but these MIB grip are not as bad as some in that regard. Really depends on how much grip you need and if you hold the point in a specific way then you may want points with a grooved grip in them. My only concern with such points is they may break where the grooves are. As for the Mib originals and the Ice, I think the Ice probably do less damage but the originals may be a touch more grippy for the fingers.
Maybe a silly question but I have never ordered points, if I ordered a 32mm point is it the total length of the unit or the amount protruding after installation?
It's usually the length of the whole point, the amount that protrudes will be shorter but not all darts have the same hole depth, could be around 5 or 6 mm sometimes a little more
Hi Darren, did you have any issues repainting the darts? I always seem to damage coated points when repainting!
Also what is your repointing tool of choice?
Cheers
you mean repointing :) not really, but sometimes its easy to mark the points and all I do is wrap them in some paper to protect them. I think all the tools are much the same but the Mission and Cuesoul one are the two I use now.
Been wondering about these, now I know
I was too thats why I got some lol :)
Using the paragons for a week or 7 right now. Board keeps up very well, Good finger grip and points are strong, as of today they didn’t break
Thats good to hear, thanks for feedback! Did you find your fingers got sore pulling the darts out, I know mine did lol :)
@@DartsReviewChannel i turn/rotate the darts out clockwise. So don’t get sore fingers from pulling out the darts. Better for the board and my fingers haha
@@angelo1758 Yeah I do that but still pull at the same time :)
Interesting points, but I think I´ll stick with the Target Firestorm Onyx. IMO, these are the least board killing models from Target with still enough grip in the board (using hard boards like the Samurai, Bandit Duro and the Gladiator 3+ only)
Yeah if its enough grip for you then that is all that matters, I never really have any trouble but I suppose if I want to make 100% sure I was giving myself the best chance of the darts sticking in I would use something like these, dont think I need it personally though :)
Hi Darren, the length of Target Storm Surge, Storm and Fire Storm dart points is given as either 26mm or 30mm. I guess these measurements do not include the bit that goes into the barrel. This therefore means the length given is not that of the entire point. Kindly confirm this. Thanks once again for a very informative and detailed review.
I think with the Target Storm range they only count the part protruding from the barrel.
Thanks.
Would these be ok for the winmau simon whitlock special edition darts
they should fit most darts but not all dart brands have same width holes, if its too tight you can file it down and if its too loose you can ad some superglue or loctite
I could do this to a regular point with my precision grinder in 10 minutes. It is amazing what people will pay money for (no offense, Darren, I realize you got them to do a review for your channel)
I know, that's how they are all doing them, but they were one of the first if not the first to be selling them and it was a fairly new thing then. Since then though I had probably another 5 or 6 people contact me doing the same thing each claiming their points were better, but when I seen them they were just the same so I refused to review any of them.
Would the ice versions be similer to a target diamond point? Good review
Pretty close in grip terms
The need for special points is something rather new no???Is it because of the quality of the boards going backwards??No one in the eighties had something similar as i remember, and the darts stuck to the board nonetheless!
It does seem to be a modern thing, could be many reasons but as I say standard black coated points always been fine for me, maybe it's the boards like you say?
Nice video, the grip on those points (3-5)? Maybe buying some now using Target Precision Fire black points
Thanks Dave, yeah its a good grippy point if thats what you need :)
I think these are the points Peter Wright has used a lot in the past? I always wondered how his point looked that beaten up 😂
I dont know for sure but it could be, think a lot of pros have been giving them a go :)
Nice review , good points but not for me .
Thanks! :)
