From sexual desire, to realizing you are falling in love with the opposite sex, to realizing not everything will be rainbows because half the world is against you, to feeling like you need to beg god for help because you start feeling like you want to be “normal” even though it’s the homophobic society and family making you feel like that, to accepting yourself....seriously the album is beautiful. I fully think the only reason the word girl is in the song and one more on the album is so they would not get banned on the shows for being “too gay”. This was bold and beautiful and showed representation in a way that was so poetic to watch

Which led to me having a HORRIBLE first few months of quarantine trying to figure myself out while also being in the same house as my christian family. Listening and learning about the album just sort of helps, you know? The idea that maybe it wasn't only me wanting to go back to "normal" while first figuring myself out was a new one, and a very welcome one. Of course I'm still working on internalized homophobia, but I think that I'm doing better, and I definitely feel better, so that's good.

What I found the most interesting was that when Seulgi and Irene did it in Monster and Gidle had these themes in OMG everyone was so happy and excited about it. But in both it was from the context of a negative place. Where as here eroticism was portrayed without judgement in a beautiful way, and people hated on it so hard that first day.
onlyoneof are one of the most unique groups in kpop in my opinion. Their discography and concept have many themes of religion, sexual desire & liberation, and art. They've also always been involved in the creation of their concept(s) and to varying degrees in writing & producing their own music, and making their choreographies. They also have some amazing choreography videos to popular songs and rearrange/remake other artists songs into really wonderful softer, r&b tracks. They're just some really talented guys that definitely deserve praise and more fans.
A lot of the scenes in the libidO video are actually based on scenes from LGBT+ movies/media. Having and going with that concept in Korea is actually hella brave, and they executed it really well.
also! thank you for clarifying your opinion on the queerbaiting accusations. my issue with the accusations is that 99% of them are from girls or non-mlm and a vast majority of gay and bisexual men seem to actually really like the video. regardless of their sexuality, to me it reads like a renaissance painting, an artistic representation of homosexuality as a means of discussing both temptation and identity, and as a bisexual teenaged boy myself, seeing representation in a way that isn't just cheap fanservice, is actually amazing for me.

OnlyOneOf have always been doing risky choices. Their concept in general is not an ordinary for a group debuted in 2019. Let me explain in which cases they did risky choices: 1. They debuted with two soft songs "savanna" and "time leap". Go watch it please. I always get a nostalgia feeling from time leap. Its such a bop but not a typical one 2. The story of "dOra maar" and "picasso" that is connected to them as real persons. Both were released as songs on a single. 3. Their rearranged instrumental in some covers are sometimes seen as disrispectful, however in my opinion it just shows that they are able to form every song into theirs and complete it with their own beautiful and unique vocals. 4. The labidO concept was definetly risky because although its just the concept, many people don't understand the actual meaning of a concept. Its the artists playing a role to portray a certain message to the listeners.
I'm a big fan of Onlyoneof, whenever people outside the fandom talk about them almost only talk about their visuals or in this case how gay is the video and feel that people forget to comment on how unique and good their music is, so I really appreciate that you focused on the song. I hope you react more to them, their songs are masterpieces and if you liked these, you probably like the others too

That's why a lot of scenes were shot in nature and there were scenes that hinted on the concept of youth and vigor which is a time in human lives where sexual awakening usually starts. I feel like they're telling everybody. "Don't worry. It's not scary. It's not an evil thing. It is natural. You choose your way. This is also a part of you..."

I’m glad you liked the video. I think it just kind of smolders. OOO are Loona’s little brother band. They tend to get underrated because their songs are a bit arty and take a couple listens to grow on you. Their dance and song covers are numerous and excellent. I love the intro to Sage, I could listen to it on loop for minutes at a time. And their harmonies are different than most boy groups. Very distinctive. For something completely different, they did a cheer guide to libidO and it’s pretty funny and chaotic.

OnlyOneOf has a very unique creative/artistic direction, some other great songs are "time leap", "angel", and "a song of ice and fire" ;0 personally, while "libido" has quite the steamy MV, I really dig the heavy/"dirty" synth sounds, and especially all those little instrumentals and things going on in the background, plus the vocal effect on the rap is just the right amount of spicy XD
9:20 the fact that Love the leader and the members help producing and choreographing, even the jacket shooting is so nice, THEY are so comfortable with each other !!!! Knowing its not forced is so good

What I like about the video is that it doesn't portray gay relationship in a stereotypical or oversexualised way. Apart from, uhm *that* part, the imaginary is actually very subtle. It portraits a teenage love as something delicate and unsure, but sensual and beautiful at the same time. It's a really well made and meaningful video.
It is great that they are under a label that allows them to do this. There is another artist by the name of Holland that crowd funds in order to produce his music. You should check him out. NEVERLAND is his debut song. LOVED YOU BETTER is a message to his younger self and my favorite.

Another group that I want to recommend is Nu'est, they debuted in 2012. They have had many challenges to move forward and had to wait 7 years to have their first win in musical shows. The name of his fandom is LOVE. Maybe I am not very objective with them because I have great affection for them, and on April 19 they have a Comeback and I think it is a good time to meet them n_n

Previously I kept saw a lot of articles/report about the pelvic grab part, saying that it is too sexual/gay etc. and before watching your video, i never see their MV before(I noted them on my list of artists that I'm interested to check on it, but never check on them before this) then I was watching their MV/listen to their song for the first time with you, I am surprised by the song libidO too, it is a silent BOP i will says, a BOP that bomb silently and I can see how the story/MV matched with the lyrics. Kinda like, being attracted to the person that having the same gender as me, it is too attractive that I can't get rid of it but just immersed. Another group that I want to recommend is Nu'est, they debuted in 2012. They have had many challenges to move forward and had to wait 7 years to have their first win in musical shows. The name of his fandom is LOVE.

and before watching your video, i never see their MV before(I noted them on my list of artists that I'm interested to check on it, but never check on them before this)
then I was watching their MV/listen to their song for the first time with you, I am surprised by the song libidO too, it is a silent BOP i will says, a BOP that bomb silently
and I can see how the story/MV matched with the lyrics. Kinda like, being attracted to the person that having the same gender as me, it is too attractive that I can't get rid of it but just immersed. So I can understand why they had the pelvic grab part choreographed in their dance, as it matched with the story/lyrics as well, u know, sexual appealing is kinda the 'attractive' that u felt when u r attracted to someone(erm sorry idk what im talking too xD)

I'm with you, both songs were so good and interesting. I appreciate the risks they took with their choreo, especially considering the conservative nature of their culture. There's such a double standard, if they were females, I don't think people would make as big a fuss. Lets face it, there's been some very provocative choreo from the ladies in kpop.
