It's not about the teacher being on the internet, it's about him having close relationships with the students in a way where there are no clear boundaries set. He puts himself on the same level as the students when he labels them as his best friends. He allows them to text and call him outside of school. That type of behavior is for sure inappropriate especially due to the power dynamic. Also if you look into his eyes you can tell there is something off about his energy.
It’s about protecting yourself as the adult and the educator, there MUST be personal boundaries. One of my students texted me and I have no idea how the student got my personal phone number. I blocked it. When you get too personal with students you put yourself in the position to be lied on and let you good be spoken evil about. There must be some distance between the teacher and the students, personally.

The issue wasn't the teacher being on the internet. The issue was that teachers and students should not be touching each other in a way that may confuse their level of closeness, especially as young girls can get confused and problems could arise from that. This ain't about social media.
I believe the memo stated that by the end of this yr Sally's will stop selling her products. I'm not convinced it was from the company because they misspelled Kenya's name. I, too, hope it's not true. I'm not a fan, but she deserves to be able to make money.

Lol Simon is trying to have a Marriage and Family counseling session at the courts. They should have been in counseling. You get married that quick… seek counseling through a licensed professional and/or minister.
Teaching on the internet is totally different from posting videos of students on social media. Every parent is not ok with their kid being on social media with their teacher in that manner and that would be their right. Parents typically have to sign a permission slip for their kids' likeness to be used by the school. It's just that in this era, people think they are ok to post anybody, but that's not true in every situation. If every parent AND the school district are ok with it, then fine, but it's a slippery slope from a parent's standpoint. Today it's braiding hair, what will it be tomorrow and the days, months, years to come? Eventually, some parent is going to have an issue with something, and then it becomes, y'all we're ok with it before so I can do what I wanna do now. He said the principal asked him to use social media to solicit donations. He didn't say they were ok with him continuing to post students in whatever manner he sees fit. In my parental opinion, it's best to set a boundary before a problem happens rather than give him free reign because all it takes is for one parent to go to the school district to complain, and heads will roll. I would like to know if there was an agreement with him and the principal. I'm glad he didn't use his job, tho.

We vote in hopes that each one will come in and make things a little better than the one before. But One president will never be able to clean up all the mess at once. On the Bustah video I feel like he may have done that because he doesn’t want his poor performance to be recorded. He came to VA last Sept I believe it was with 50 cent and Jeremiah and his performance was HORRIBLE. I was SHOCKED. Out of breath and skipping songs and wanted the audience to rap instead of he himself rapping. It was absolutely a no for me. 50 and Jeremiah did their thing but Bussa Bussa was not Bussin AT ALL. People are going to catch on to that and start talking. And they are going to have back up to prove it if they are recording.
They were taking his braids down, not braiding his hair. The parents were okay with it. People need to research before spitting lies. I am 68 years old and I think he is a very good teacher.
He could be a good teacher, but he did not have appropriate emotional boundaries with his students. Doing personal favors for a teacher, calling them your "bestie", and saying you "love and miss" them is not behavior that should be present between a teacher-student dynamic. It blurs the lines regarding the purpose of the relationship, which is to teach and be taught. Not to be friends or to form a bond as if he's a family member. That is entirely too emotionally intimate for a school setting, and sets the students up to be emotionally wrecked when they inevitably no longer have access to the teacher, either because the teacher leaves or the child graduates.
Of course teachers should have a good rapport w students, but ultimately it is a career path. Teachers may switch careers or relocate, and students should not be so emotionally attached that it feels like they're losing a family member or best friend. That's why we have emotional boundaries.
