Hello to all. My name is Emily. I've wondered my whole life who and where my family came from. I know that I'm native. But have no idea of the tribes. I've been told that I'm part this and that. And am still searching to find who I am. Watching this documentary gave me more strength to continue. It is one of the very honest and wonderful I've ever seen. Thank you. With love and honor, Emily.

The Assiniboine People helped me when I was on the black road after my father had crossed over unexpectedly. I was invited into the last two rounds of a lodge that was going on in Frazer after Cross Country practice two of my students took me to their grandparents house where they were having a purification ceremony and I was asked repeatedly to join in and pray with them. When I was walking back to the teacherage where I lived I heard “You’re home now”. I’ve not looked back to that old way of living. That was September of 1984. Since I have sundanced and dedicated 25 years of dancing in SD MT and MB Canada as well as singing since 1991 for that way of life. This way brought me home to my Taíno People and now I am learning my Taíno ceremony ways language and culture. Nothing but gratitude to The Assiniboine RedBottom Clan People! Pidamayedo Hahom Bomotum! Mitakuye Oyasin!

I'm Assiniboine and Sioux. I'm 17 about to be 18. My parents are from the fort peck tribes. My dad is Assiniboine and my mom is a Sioux. I was born and raised in Spokane Wa. I want to know more about my ancestors. Last time I was there was for my grandmas funeral, at Blue Sky Ministries. I want to move back and learn my language and the ways of my people. I feel ashamed not knowing anything about my people. I'm an Archdale.

Commenting to add my thanks for this beautifully shot, highly informative documentary on the Assiniboine people. There's so much misinformation on native peoples being perpetuated in books and online and in other media, so I greatly appreciate finding direct sources such as this.

Thank you for for sharing an amazing documentary! Wisdom heard brings chills to my body. Too many wandering spirits do not know they are not living. As I learn of my Norse ways, the dead is not to be feared and everyone’s traditional songs help the Unseen make the final journey. Those who wander in Midgard are not always lost but Hel’s Realm of the Dead is thirsty. The Halls of Valor is where the Warrior Spirit lives forever!

This documentary resonated deep within my heart. This summer, I returned to my relations on the Rez, and I will never forget how I felt when my Uncle hugged me and said, “Welcome Home”. Later that night, watching the fireworks, my Auntie came up to me and said the same thing, welcome home.
Of all of the conversations I had with my family members and friends this summer, those words will never be forgotten.
My Grandmother would tell me that a liar was worse than a thief. Her words still ring true and in my memories. It is the same of what the man said while explaining how words are more powerful than actions.
This was a beautifully done documentary and very respectful.
    Chii miigwetch!

Thank you so much for sharing this Documentary and showing the reality of what has happened to these lovely Native American people who are now in a situation not of their own making. But the White Immigrants from Europe who exercised Genocide on all Native Tribes and peoples treating them all as one when it fact they are varied and individually interesting and fascinating. I am so glad they are surviving and trying to hold onto what they can and their Spirituality is intact and their Culture is still alive although in a different form. The language is still active and I pray it increases and not diminishes. I pray for God to have Mercy and Compassion on them and pour Blessings upon them because he has not forgotten them. They are his Creation and He loves them and encourages their Survival. They are so strong I admire them. Thank you for making this Documentary. Bless you all.

    RUNNING GAIT
True Archdale is traveling the Red Road like a free spirit.
In the video footage clips of her running while wearing moccasins, she runs with forefront strike, not heel strike or midfoot strike, thereby eliminating shock waves that travel up the skeleton to the top of the body every time the foot collides with the ground.

Though I was raised in Oklahoma the Land of the Red-man I’ve always been drawn to the Black Hills. I’ve always had a kindred sprit with the Northern Plains Indians like the Lakota and Cheyanne. Why remains unknown. My warrior name is Wild Horse, or man who’s horse is wild.

Thank you all for making this video. I have a blue eyed husky named Teeko Tanka. My understanding is that Teeko is Athabascan for GREAT SPIRIT or GUIDING SPIRIT and Tanka is Lakota for WOLF. I think of this Siberian Husky as a sort of guarding angel. My father is almost 97 years old and still making music. I love the thought that everyone has to fine tune their own song to hear all the other songs out there. Been working at a kids camp for years. The bears are very active around here now. Peace, out.

My 4th Great grandfather was Joseph Lambert he was a interpreter, and had a business alone the river cutting wood for the steam ships. He was well liked by the Assiniboine. When his family was attacked and killed 6 miles south of Wolf Point by Major Miles Crow Scouts. It was the Assiniboine that rallied to find his killers. His son survived but limped for the rest of his life.

Beloved Relatives had to PAUSE, the moment the words of The Knowing! To the emotions of someone coming and makes it back to you, This Is Heaven on Earth, Going BACK to Listen More... 🤗PAUSE the Thought of Each Soul Having Their OWN SONG, was why I turned on utube, was that at 55 my OLAWAN has been dormant and not yet been complete.. A mix of life's experiences with OTHERS,
and uncler by the way feeling of sadness and not being able to fit in... So I will Go BACK and LISTEN again 🤗Wow so Tunning was the last of the message and all of the sudden the whole neighborhood was loud with leaf blowers angry news about lost this video didn't want to mix the two oh my 🌟, Come and Learn How to Revive Life, PAUSE for a little till quiet for Appreciate the Song To Come..Wait.. The Students that many passing away? Should be an Emotional Support Teacher /Auntie but I don't have much education still have the call to comfort the little ones and their families, for free 😊, Dream of a school where the curriculum is based on Experiencializim, a Renewal of Fun and Outside The Building and the Safety of Knowing No Matter how much is Expected by laws a New Way to Save Lives vs Building an Empire. Ugh 💰 to take care of your life needs and to have enough to share with your new friend at school. I'm a little nauseous by the numbers! I cry why ever day just don't understand why god forbid we address this issue for what it is, the moment is when a vision will be there for the opportunity to come forward, and pray it is not with a deceased school age Child, the fact that threats or acts of violence is a threat, Let's See Answered Prayers! Hmm so 2 of my Children have declared that they are not interested in any other way to live now , far from family foundational values 😢Awwa Shumanitu Wanji

i see a great multitude of America that love nature
    yet their is no thinkers
we need to take care of our garden
i believe we have the know how to bring back the buffalo
in great multitude and many many others
    in a very short time
the NRA green peace and many others
including the first people can unite

Sorry, I meant paths (trails). I have blazed many. I've even been called "Deaniel Boone". I'm actually from Daniel Boone country. Sweet dreams, and I pray you receive new visions of His PEACE. We DON'T need any more "Hatfield's and McCoy's", in this SACRED country, we've already had enough. Some strange reason I feel you, and it is nothing but peace, from you, thank you. Peace, only, back to you. Peace Out.

I am crushed that America helps other countries but not it's own native people. Water is as huge a problem for the Navaho people also.
Israel though a tiny country with great water problems who have become expert in water use and re-use. Is there some way we can help? How could this be done? Israel has helped many people all over the world getting clean water(those countries may not have the problem of mines that have polluted their waters), agriculture and solar energy without destroying the surrounding land. The Palestinians have turned down help from Israel but have not turned down their water.
This is not saying the native peoples are wrong at all. It is saying that a native people could help another native people- no matter how far away. I am not rich at all. I am not a politician. But I am willing to help in whatever way I can. May we all have peace soon!

let's assume you are logical. If there are 500 nations, there can be no one universal word.So you get 100 different words..and remember notall trives were fraternally related. war is hell; war is fun. My people have some linguistic relatives and we use the same word. but we are NOT one big homogeneous group. That's the logical error u propose. ty

Which of the millions of spiritual beliefs are real, which are fake, and who has the right to force one from practicing their own - like the US government did to the Natives for a century. Perhaps you should practice your beliefs as you see fit and let others practice theirs as they see fit. They will reconcile the spirit of the puppies in their own way.
