my favorite thing about Linus' story is that while he is technically 'homeless' he doesn't see it that way. He likes his tent, and he likes living off the land and what he can forage and scrounge and the occasional kind donation from the townsfolk. He's literally living his dream, and I'm happy for him.
Everyone: "Stardew Valley is a relaxing game" Me: "So, today I have to water the plants, fill the cat's water bowl, pet the cat, clean up my farm a little, watch TV, craft another chest and organize everything better, deliver stuff to Gunther, go to Clint to open geodes, buy a new fishing rod, catch a catfish, find a lost object, buy seeds, give a gift to my love interest, give a birthday present, talk to the most people I can find, look for forage stuff, check the traveling merchant, buy an upgrade, get copper at the mines, kill 10 slimes, deliver items for the Community Center, trigger a cutscene at a specific time and place, go back home and plant the seeds I bought and fertilize them, and all of that should be done before midnight"
This is actually an argument I made to a friend. I really want to play Stardew Valley and I do like it's look and everything but it isn't as relaxing to me as some people make it sound. It kind of stresses me out actually.
@@leioana I recommend playing it like this or using mods so you don't have to worry about money or some stuff. Mods don't take away the heart of the game and it's still fun.
@@ALEJOwhatever Thank you. I knew Mods existed but I didn't want to take from the game. I'll have to look into some Mods then to see which ones are best for me.
@@leioana It CAN be stressful but doesn't have to be. All the things the OP said above are true and are things you will do a lot of, but you never have to cram it all in one day. They aren't wrong by any means, but what I love about this game is you can make it whatever you want it to be. There are people that "min-max" the game, which is writing and following complicated plans to maximize the amount of money you make in the most efficient way possible. There are people that try to get everything done every day. There are people that spend all their time farming and never touch the mines unless they absolutely need to (and even then, it's not totally required because you can buy the ores you need, but it's REALLY not a good idea, as the mines are just way cheaper in the long run). I even have a friend that never farms or mines at all, they literally just fish everyday and that's it lol. So it can be complicated and stressful if you play it that way, but you don't have to. Nothing is ever truly on a schedule, and there's no reason to feel like the clock is ticking away, because there's nothing in the game that can't be done later. But also, if you want to mod, you still have control over how you want to play, because you could just use mods to save time on things you aren't interested in (like automatically maximizing NPC's relationship ranks instead of going and gifting things to them constantly). All I can really say is if you like the looks of the game, don't worry, just play however you enjoy it best. Mod it if you like, or not, but whatever you do, don't worry about feeling overwhelmed with anything. Practically everything in the game is optional.

Lol, the Egg talk got me. The eggs we eat are unfertalized, meaning they would never have become chicks under any circumstance. So no worries there, Gab.
It depends on where you live. That's pretty true in the US, but in Europe and South America they don't have the same level of agricultural production, so some brands of eggs can be fertile and can actually be hatched if you take them home and put them in an incubator. It's all perspective, it's still just an egg.

28:35 Yeah... my heart hurts for the homeless. Most of them just can’t hold jobs because of mental or physical issues. I suffer from anxiety and depression, so I know it must just be impossible for some of them. Unfortunately, America doesn’t take care of these issues. Mental problems are especially looked down on and the people are just discarded. It’s not humane. We have to seriously take a look at caring for people who can’t care for themselves and help. I for one don’t care if my taxes are raised to help those in need. As long as it’s going to them. That as another problem though. Kindness is something we can all do though.
At exactly 1:50:34 I farted twice and Gab said “Do you guys hear that?” And I shit you not I got embarrassed 😳 then laughed out loud after she said magical sounds 😹😹😹😹
see, that is why Gab is the best. there are MANY Stardew Valley videos let's plays. Some by famous youtube Stardew gamer channels. But in the end, Gab is the best. she has a big heard and really gets in the game. She is unforgettable and inspirational. Remember the name. Gab Smolders. She does have a lot of tattoos though. But still....
Gabs I have to say that you are very calming and I enjoy listening to you when I want to watch something easy or just for background noise. Also, thank you for introducing HOGs to me. I've gotten several that I absolutely enjoy playing casually and it's all because you introduced them to me.
Alex: "I try to eat 3 eggs everyday." Gab: "Jeez Alex, that's a but much. 3 every day?" Gaston: "When I was a lad I ate 4 dozen eggs, every morning to help me get large! But now as a man I eat 5 dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a Barge!"
For some reason, this series of Gabs is my comfort series and one I can also study with lol. I really enjoy rewatching her playthroughs of stardew valley
I think Gab is the best. its been almost a year since I last visited her channel. there are many gamers youtube channels out there. Some are very good, some are unfairly "hotcrap" when they should not. There are even some very good Stardew Valley "let's play"s out there. But in the end, WHEN I REWATCHED THIS old SERIES of hers [ right now] I say she is the best. She has a great Finnish heart. SHE HUGS all her animals [....Does gab remember her comment in one of her videos to her farm animals. when chasing them to give them hugs.. "...you can't escape my love..."]. She is so attentive to petting and caring for her cat or dog, usually her cat. She praises the kindness given to Linus by Gus. She gets into the stories. Even when she plays Nancy Drew and other mystery puzzle games, she is good and has a relationship with her fans and chat. She is a great feline human being. And, she has the BEST GAMER cat in all of youtube!!
@@annoyingperson The chance of getting it is super low however. Plus you need to be at least skill level 2 in fishing for it to appear in chests. So if someone is new to the game, getting it in a timely manner could prove challenging if you aren't good at fishing right off.

I got a few tips as a old player ,just in case someone needs these 1.Never build the coop before the silo 2.Try to not cut much grass before you get the silo .Because you might get low on hay ,and the hay that Marny sells costs an arm and a leg 3.Organise your chests(very self explenatory) 4.I cannot stress this enough .NEVER MISS A VILLAGERS BIRTHDAY .Even if you don't like them ,they are friends with benefits . 5.Always check the weather and luck .If you have good luck drop everything you are planning and go mining . Hopefully these helped someone.
came here to watch these stardew videos after the stressful af day we had here in the US. Thank you for providing a moment of fun and relaxation in an otherwise chaotic world

But I am watching through Twitch cause it's addictive, but I wanna make sure to give likes and comments on each video for the algorithms and to let you know that, personally, if you play this forever, I'm happy 🤣❤❤❤❤❤ You're a lovely person and watching your streams and video always makes me happy and relaxed. You're not like other gamers ;) (sry, I'll go home now 😅)
I used to be a soft vegan; I allowed myself to eat animal by product as long as it taken ethically. Honey, eggs, and dairy. Eggs in all realistic ways are just embryos. They need that rooster. As long as the hen laid that egg naturally and not forced it is morally okay. Eggs inevitably will be laid by a hen regardless. If an egg isn’t eaten it is waste.
The crazy part about the whole tier four covid for you is that we are going about days like covid isnt a thing. Schools are open, everything is open nothing ever shut here in SD

Love watching the peaceful foraging and farming life. I honestly want to be like the main character of this game. Leave my boring city life behind and start a farm. I know its hard but I think it would be worth it. Happy New year!!!
Oh also I don't know if anyone has told you (or if the thing I linked says it I don't remember): how far you cast your line while fishing can give you different types of fish! So you can get different fish from a short cast than from a long one!
I've had this game for years and you just taught me something new lol
Thanks for the tip! :)
When she said "Well it's ten Pm," My brain went "Do you know where your children are?"
"it should produce a bar"
Me: puts ore in furnace
Furnace: *starts rapping*
Not me rewatching this after watching most of the stream ❤️ also bought this yesterday because of your videos and now I know I won’t see the light of day for a while lmal
Wow, she's had some amazing luck. I've only had the fairy a few times, and she gets it in her first game, and I've NEVER had the meteor, and she gets that too. Both in the first half of the first month. Wow!
I didn't get the meteor until, like, year 2 or 3 on the mobile version and it destroyed my fence that my crops were in. I think I got the fairy maybe once or twice on the mobile version. I haven't gotten either on my modded PC version, yet.
Ik im super late to the thread but I got a meteor on my first night on my new farm I started a couple days ago and was so confused 🫠
thank you for these stardew vids gab, i really needed something like this
Subscribe her twitch server cheapskate.
@Kanna doing the right thing don't be a dick. Not everyone has all the time and money to do things.
This game is so chill. I could watch you play for hours even though I already played the game for like 900 hours
Finding your channel was the best thing that came out of 2020. Thank you for all your videos!
"There's something in the sewer..."
The sewer: Fwoop~
People who have played the game enough know what is in the sewer or who (depends your perspective)
when Gab tried to eat the seaweed but was still standing on the stairs in the mines gave me PTSD lmaoooo. I've mistook "leave the mine" as eating stuff so many timesss
Kindness is something we can all do though.
big facts
This is the perfect series to start watching for the new year!!!! I hope its an extensive series!
At exactly 1:50:34 I farted twice and Gab said “Do you guys hear that?” And I shit you not I got embarrassed 😳 then laughed out loud after she said magical sounds 😹😹😹😹
Sean is rubbing off on you. Mine Time, LOL
Spending the last few hours of 2020 with Stardew Gabbie. All the best for Evelien after reaching 500k subscribers and keeping her amazing vibe. 😇😊
OMG I’ve been waiting for the next episode since I’m not able to watch the streams! Love ur work gab!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who leaves the berry bushes by the tent for Linus to pick 😅
see, that is why Gab is the best. there are MANY Stardew Valley videos let's plays.
*Sees you going towards Robin's on a Tuesday morning*
Girl, she workin' out!
This is such a relaxing thing to watch!
Happy New Year everyone!! So happy this channel has been here for my everyday life throughout this though year!
Alex: "I try to eat 3 eggs everyday."
Gab: "Jeez Alex, that's a but much. 3 every day?"
Gaston: "When I was a lad I ate 4 dozen eggs, every morning to help me get large! But now as a man I eat 5 dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a Barge!"
For some reason, this series of Gabs is my comfort series and one I can also study with lol. I really enjoy rewatching her playthroughs of stardew valley
I'm doing a marathon of all your stardew valley videos and I'm having the most fun, you MADE my Sunday
Lewis: Let the egg hunt begin!
Gab: What am I looking for?
And, she has the BEST GAMER cat in all of youtube!!
i love that sparkles that popped up when Gab put on her glasses
When you're lucky and go fishing, you could actually fish a strong sword!
This just happened to me, I fished a level 5 sword out of the ocean 😂 Having a good sword right off the bat makes the early level mines so much easier
I wish I knew that when I first started!
@@annoyingperson The chance of getting it is super low however. Plus you need to be at least skill level 2 in fishing for it to appear in chests. So if someone is new to the game, getting it in a timely manner could prove challenging if you aren't good at fishing right off.
I love your Stardew series Gab, a much appreciated relaxing break after a stressful day working from home.
Omg. We dont eat fertilized eggs with our breakfast.
They are unfertilized. They are not embryos.
Well, you still can eat fertilized one, unless it is... you know... half hatched. But, in some (Asian) countries half-hatched egg is a delicacy.
Yeah some people absolutely do eat fertilized eggs. Gabs clarified what she meant though.
Yay another one! Thank you for posting these on RUclips, I dont have the time to watch them live on twitch and its easier to rewatch here. Looking forward to the next one.
Loving this series. So chill.
Watching this while eating my new years dinner, thanks for making an unusually lonely new years way better and cozier ^^
Hope you have a great New Year!
@@baileybb4 You too! ^^
Im currently on my first playthough of alien isolation and I keep bouncing back to this to keep my heart steady.
Haha, not a bad idea. I loved Alien Isolation so much, and it's SOOO stressful! Without spoiling anything, let me just tell you it only gets more nerve-wracking as you go deeper into the game!
I can’t wait until my game comes mid January it’s coming 😌❤️
Heck yeah, waited for this, time to watch this to celebrate the new year!
This eases my anxiety so good.
Thank you for doing Stardew Valley!! I have been enjoying your videos with my bestie! And going to Stardew Valley feels like a relaxing break that was needed!
I love Gus for offering food to Linus but Linus ' life style is survival. He is not in need he just wants to live like that without being threated like a beggar so his face falls when Gus offer him food.
ive never seen anyone beat abigail on their first try! well done gabs!
Started watching this series after the Expanded series started and man this is great. I wish I had found Gab sooner rather than through Jack but I'm here now!!
Just got back home from college classes and I'm super excited to relax with more of this playthrough!! 🥰🥰
I really enjoy this playthrough, & seeing you play has made me buy Stardew for my PC & switch!
I got a few tips as a old player ,just in case someone needs these
1.Never build the coop before the silo
2.Try to not cut much grass before you get the silo .Because you might get low on hay ,and the hay that Marny sells costs an arm and a leg
3.Organise your chests(very self explenatory)
4.I cannot stress this enough .NEVER MISS A VILLAGERS BIRTHDAY .Even if you don't like them ,they are friends with benefits .
5.Always check the weather and luck .If you have good luck drop everything you are planning and go mining .
Hopefully these helped someone.
this video right here, gonna be the last video i watch in 2020 and start 2021 with it. happy new year goobers and everyone here!
WE LOVE A WHOLESOME GAB LETS PLAY!!! 💛💛💛 (love the horror games but this is a sweet break) I can’t wait for more :D
your pfp is cute
@@silverraxtus9622 hehe thanks! That’s my guinea pig, Pipin!
came here to watch these stardew videos after the stressful af day we had here in the US. Thank you for providing a moment of fun and relaxation in an otherwise chaotic world
Watching/listening to Gabs play is a relaxing and fun way to pass the time while I multitask playing games on my computer, DS, and phone XD
Gus part teult made my heart ache and I almost cried. Such a wholesome moment in a game during this horrible time in the real world 😭❤❤❤❤ I am having a really hard personal time since december and have extreme anxiety and watching you play this is so relaxing and happy and cute, none of my meds can't compete with that ^•^. You're not like other gamers ;) (sry, I'll go home now 😅)
I'm rewatching this series in a time of stress, and all I gotta say is it's so calming thank you for this series Gab
A nice break between watching a lot of horror game playthroughs! I loved this game for such a long time and I’m happy you’re playing it.
If an egg isn’t eaten it is waste.
a nice relaxing start to 2021.
happy new year gab and community.
It's currently 4am, and here I am watching you play and learn my favorite game and me playing along with you. Thanks for this amazing series Gab!
The crazy part about the whole tier four covid for you is that we are going about days like covid isnt a thing. Schools are open, everything is open nothing ever shut here in SD
so i was having a bit of a rough morning, thought I would try your lets play and got through 4 hours in one sitting as I worked. this was the wholesome moon I needed.
I never got into stardew valley in fear of missing out and how fast the days go, but I really got into the feel with your play. i will continue to watch all 45 of them :D glad you did this
Gab: *about the sea urchin* Should I sell this?
Me: NOO
Samee 😁 my heart dropped
Ever think about getting an air purifier for your allergies? Sometimes it helps especially in winter.
Why was no one telling you that your energy doesn't go down by walking 😭😭😭
rewatching this series while also reading “It” for the first time and all of your pennywise references made me physically recoil LMAO thanks for that
I think gab's playthrough of stardew is my favorite one to watch just because you can hear mow much more she loves the game each episode
I'm starting to really like this game thanks to you!! Thank you
Happy New Year to all, wherever you are. I hope you are all safe and well.
I think we can agree that a positive and chill game like Stardew Valley with Gab playing it is the best way to wrap up what has been a turbulent year for all.
Thank you Gab for all your hard work this year, and for bringing joy and respite to those who watch you! ❤️
I love this relaxing playthrough, you are the first video I watch when I come home from work. Also I love the fact that you used the "Meme Time" theme of Sean's when you said "Mine Time", classic.
Thanks for this! I watched episode 1 yesterday and, here we are again. I really enjoy your energy- chill and a bit snarky hahaha
Random Fact about my Life: I have just found Gabs channel I knew that it existed for a while but just started checking it out and I am obsessed. But the funny thing is that my best friend is obsessed with Marzia. So me and her are both obsessed with different people who also happen to be friends. I don't know I just found that kind of funny.
so glad i found your stardewvalley playlist ms gabs 🥰 been falling asleep to ur cozy gameplay everynight it gives me problems trying to remember where to startwatching in the day😅
