SLSLS Small Gauge Festival 2023

Over the weekend of 4 & 5 November 2023 the Sydney Live Steam Locomotive Society held the 2023 Small Gauge Festival which featured 2.5 and 3.5 inch gauge locomotives as well as a variety of display items and gauge 1 and HO layouts. The elevated track is 380m long and features swing stub points operated from a full size lever frame and functional mechanical signals. The weather was a little inclement but a good roll up, a BBQ lunch and lengthy dry spells allowed plenty of interaction and operation. We had visitors from as far afield as Tasmania, Brisbane and Newcastle.

The red Pacific (3.1/2" gauge, with the BIG Belpaire firebox) ran like a sewing machine. Smooth as. A credit to the builder (Arthur Meares?). Lovely job.
