Its going to sound silly but count all your blessings. I.E. : you don't have to worry about your next meal, you have internet, a computer or smartphone. You seem to have a decent education by the looks of your grammar and punctuation use. These are the small things but they are huge to someone who doesn't have them. Like the women and children in Afghanistan :(

@@jameslemon9544 That's fair, and often I *do* catch myself taking it for granted. However, I do work rather hard (in my opinion) for what I have now.
I wouldn't be able to (nor, frankly, like to) compare myself to those living in Afghanistan because not only is it culturally different, but geographically and economically different. I do try to donate when I can and often reach out to my friends in Oman and Yemen to see how they're doing. But, generally speaking, there is only so much we can do for others at one time.
I would like to see them given more opportunities, but it's not within either my ability or responsibility to tell them what an opportunity would appear to be for them. Would it be moving to a different country? Growth in their own?

Just a tip that helped me not comparing but just recognizing the small blessings that I do have helped me through my dark time.
