Yep, its overrated. The stock mk.4 with 2jz-ge engine just have 223hp. And the 2jz-gte version is 325hp. The car in the video seems like at minimum 900hp.
Lukmanul Hakim to be fair tho 300 hp in a car that light is pretty damn quick add a turbo and your pushing 500 hp and prolly in the 8 second range if you can drive
Crimson Light lol that’s still only around ~250 whp w/out turbo and maybe ~300 whp w a turbo. If you really think a turbo jumps the car 200 bhp you’s buggin. You’d have to do a lot more small tunes to get it to 500 bhp let alone 500 whp.

As much as I love the mk4, just about everything but the body and block is far from toyota. A stock mk4 is a pretty bad car. Even for its time it was no chaser or mr2. It just had great tuning capabilities.

So they would make cars that were overengineerd for those specs and then sell tuning parts for the cars. I am not sure if I am right but I thought I had read about something like this somewhere.
Yeah but the thing that makes it good for a drag car is also the thing that makes it mediocre on the track relative to the GTR. Both have awesome motors though
