If you don't mind some criticism here's what I got. Kind of like writing a paper, your group needs to figure out a theme or in this case Tone, you guys want to stick with. What I mean by this, is that your performance starts off with a smooth entrance in comparison to the abrupt beginning of the original piece. The sound is smooth and I can imagine this being a performance of Saxophones. The problem is that this precedent was ruined and thrown out the window after about 8 seconds. What takes its place is that loud "Da Buh Da da". I understand that this is the same thing the big band does. The original however does not necessarily change its tone, nor its volume. Mostly the pitch changes, and the precedent has already been set that they're going to do Big Band Jazz with some swing within their first few notes. There's nothing wrong with a smooth tone, but it's better to consistently stick with it as it becomes a somewhat confusing piece to listen to at times. Also I recommend practicing more than I can already tell your group has definitely practiced. Some noticeable things is some performers are rushing, and some are dragging. This becomes most noticeable in your first soloist. It sounds like in the beginning she's dragging and it makes the difference in tone more noticeable. Personal grievance is that I don't think switching the soloist is a good idea with what I listened to. Mostly it sounded like the group wasn't completely together a kinda "us vs them" kinda of sound. Anyways all your soloists were good in their own way, but let's talk about your first soloist. Her voice followed more towards a smooth swing, that matches the initial sound your group was going for. But because the group switched towards the more splatty (how big band kinda sounds like to me) big band jazz that has attitude, there was major contrast. Your second soloist gave more attitude and matched the splatty support you guys were giving her. Her tone and overall sound was fuller and is the closest amongst the three to sounding like the original piece. Your third soloist is singing with a clearer tone that reminds me to Mary Poppins. So in a way her voice matched more with an orchestra supporting her. Ultimately though it felt like the supporting sound towards the soloists were trying to be the stars or main sound of the piece. There is disconnection and it personally bothered me. Some other things, that I don't know if there's much you can do about it, but it seems you just have too many Sopranos/Altos in comparison to Tenors/Bass. The sound did not have the support/foundation of a bass to encompass the entire sound and a lot of Sopranos were a little too loud and sometimes drowning out the soloists. Last thing I can think of at the moment. Bobbing your head, or getting into the music is one way to bring out the attitude needed to perform Old Big Band Jazz. It's also what people do in general for any kind of song they're singing. But I can see what the sound could potentially be like one day, and all it'll take is some practice and better communication on the kind of sound the overall group wants to make. Work as a team and I imagine you'll do even greater performances. Edit: Ah forgot to say; Bravo! Good Show.

I love this cover, but honestly, while doing A Cappella, a big part of the performance is your facial reactions to the music. You gotta look like you're having fun with it in this tune in order to make the audience have fun with it too! The first woman who was singing the main part just had a straight face the whole time and looked like she wasn't having much fun with it! Same with a few of the background vocals! Other than that, you guys sounded great! I strive to be able to sing like that!
