      I plan to make a series on interviewing tips, resume prep, conversation with recruiters, and conversations with tech managers on the Power Platform. My focus will be on the US only, but the conversation may shed light on other countries. From my experience manufacturing companies embrace the low-code no-code tech faster than others. But ALL industries will (or have started) to embrace it. IT departments are usually to drag, as they are not sure how to support/manage non-developers in the org with creating apps

    Hey DeShon, I like the way you present this session and no doubt its with great content. My ques. is there are lot of low code technologies are there like power platform, outsystem,mendix,appian , I want to know where is exactly Power platform in 2023 in this low code technology race?

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  Год назад

      very good question, last I heard they were the leaders in the low code, no code space...mostly because 90% of the fortune 500 companies are already using Microsoft technologies. I feel this is a huge advantage, as companies start to minimize their technology footprint. There is one space that Microsoft is lagging and that will be the RPA (robotics process automation) this is the desktop version of Power Automate...this is not as strong as the competitors...just separate RPA data from the low code, no code data in your research

    Amazing. What do you think whats the best tool I can use for freelancing?

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  Год назад

      Hi there! When it comes to freelancing, it really depends on your specific skills and the type of work you want to do. However, some popular tools for freelancers include project management tools like Trello or Asana, communication platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams, and productivity tools like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365. It's important to choose tools that align with your workflow and make your job easier. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Question...I'm supervisor and I built a power app solution for our team embedded with power bi and power automate email flow. The app has been a huge success and now my divisions want me to build another one. This is a bigger app for a larger amount of people....I feel underpaid. Do you think I should ask for more money?

    • @crypto_priest7400
      @crypto_priest7400 Год назад +1

      Yes you should and that should be in form of salary rise.

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  Год назад

      Hello! It sounds like you've done an amazing job with your power app solution, and it's great to hear that it has been a huge success. When it comes to asking for a raise, it ultimately depends on your specific situation and your relationship with your employer. If you believe that your skills and contributions warrant a higher salary, it may be worth discussing with your supervisor or HR department. Be prepared to highlight your achievements and the value your work has brought to the organization. Good luck!

    This video is amazing!
    I'm a data analyst using mostly Power BI and Excel. I am planning to fully switch into Power Platform by early next year.
    And also nice to hear you mention regarding the speed & efficiency of Power Platform compared to the 'hardcore devs'. It really still boggles me why a LOT of devs and 'wannabe devs' laugh at Power Platform and any form of low code/ no code tools in several online forums.
    I think in the data field, both Power BI & Tableau have already proven the low code is indeed revolutionary.

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  Год назад +1

      Hey Frederick, I absolutely agree. Power Platform is the future. There will still be areas for pro-dev solutions, but most of what we are building using the pro-tools, and easily and quickly be built using the Power Platform. Basically, there is a faster & easier solution for a certain "grade" of app

    Love your videos, just one question. Do you see there being a large demand for freelancing and work related to power apps? Or do you think companies keep this in house?

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  2 года назад +1

      hey Cassey! very good question. There will always be room for a freelancer in this space. The key is to be more knowledgeable than the client and add tremendous value.
      Because these techs are "Lego blocks", creativity plays a critical role. So, though the client may have the skills to build, you will have many tricks and tips, that will add value.
      Teaching a client how to build enterprise grade solutions, and set-up an Power Platform adoption framework (so they are building safely and responsibly) is another consulting opportunity (especially for the larger clients, where governance, regulation, and compliance is top of mind).
      Yes, yes, and yes....there are so many was to add value, there a lot of opportunity out there as a freelancer (independent consultant)

    yes I think power platform is the future, but still, there are many hurdles that we as new leaders faces, for example, there are fewer solutions on the internet, I was stuck in-camera processing and then searched "how to add a camera and snapshot button in powerapps" then 1st time seen your video, your video is valuable and informative but still, Microsoft needs more work to do in creating tutorials and videos for us.

    • @DeShonClark
      @DeShonClark  2 года назад +1

      totally agree. The lack of solutions and how-tos makes it difficult to get started. Once you are going, and the "light bulb" goes off, you become unstoppable, but getting going is tough

      I am an industrial engineer with little knowledge in programming, today I work for a multinational company as an innovation tech and I use the power platform every day, it's really easy to learn and it's incredibly powerful. To be honest I don't know if there are jobs as a power platform developer but it's definitely a very useful skill.
