Walked through it in an evening last May. It was surround sound of lapwing, curlew piping and snipe drumming followed by two short eared owls quartering the moor. We sort of assume, living round here, that this is normal for English countryside. 😂❤
It's incredible how much the river has changed from a trickle stream to something more complete, hopefully drainage, muirburn and overgrazing can finally disappear from our most important ecosystem thanks to your work, blancket bog is still underappreciated
Brilliant work, the shooting industry hate what is happening at Geltsdale and try to rubbish it at every opportunity! Also great to read about 2 successful Hen Harrier nests on Geltsdale this year 👍🏻

Peatlands really are important as you and your team hold water on the hills.
Incredible work by all the team at Geltsdale. Great to see the support from the local farmers.
It's just so lovely to see people working together to do the right thing. ❤
Just signed up to be a member, partly due to this video. Thanks for your great work.
Such an uplifting video. The team are doing amazing work with the support of neighbouring farmers. Let’s have more of this please! 💚
Love this landscape, you did it well! (from The Netherlands)
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊

Great great video.
😊
This is very inspiring. Well done RSPB the team and the farmers. Spread the word to the government about a good way to do carbon capture!
Wonderful story of restoration. Long may it continue!
Good people doing good work.
Keep up the good work! Geltsdale is a beautiful place.
Thank you for your kind words. We'll definitely keep it up! 😊
Well done
This is really promising.
Lovely story.
Thank you. 😊
Just joined the RSPB because of this wonderful production. I hope the RSPB isn't being taken-over by woke nasties.
Hope there is a successful predator control programme for foxes & corvids on these reserves.
