The relevance of AI in music making has just become unstoppable. The ability to literally dig the depths of existing audio and incorporate new sounds in such unparalleled ways in going to change music forever... again!
It's going to ruin everything, remove all of the creative activities like drawing making music and writiting it's also gonna steal all our jobs or most of them
I been doing this going on 40 years now. I don't see these tools as lazy. I see them as a great way for the younger generation to break out of their comfort zone and get some new ideas going quickly. The one's to mimic someone else are useless though. I can't think of one single reason anyone would want to sound like someone else. Be yourself. Be unique. Remember, you never saw the Beatles, Earth Wind and Fire, LL CoolJ, or any of the other greats trying to mimic someone else.
Not trying to argue, or disagree but I do think that the counter argument to this point is just as useful when it comes to knowing where to start! Obviously don’t carbon copy word for word note for note, But if there is a sound you hear, or style of music really like, love and respect, there is also no shame in trying to understand what they’re doing, how they’re doing and how they made that sound! Like if you wanna make dubstep, or be a guitar god, someone else has already done some thing similar and there’s no shame in learning from people who have already put the time in to master a style of sound that you really like and want to learn from. It doesn’t necessarily mean copy or write their music and practice their songs, But it does mean that being inspired by earth wind and fire to make a gloriously funky and high energy track isn’t a bad thing either, So long as it’s got your touch on it, there’s really no shame in getting inspired to make something, like what some one else has already made, Especially if you like it and want to get better at your craft in that direction as well! Want to be a better musician, but don’t know what direction to go in, Produce stuff that’s like the music that excites you at the moment! And see how well you can aspire to make stuff that sounds like the stuff you think is cool! Equally as well though, what OP said is just as true, don’t put yourself in a box, and make anything you love the sound of, especially if you’ve never heard anything like that before! Both can be really fulfilling experiments and contribute to your own progression as a musician! :)
@@xyzyzx1253 seems like somewhere along the thought process you got some things mixed up. The entire context of my post is in relation to the tools discussed in the video. In the video there is a tool that attempts to mimic other artist. Your post seems to confuse the direct mimicking of that tool with being inspired by other people. I stand by my statement. Be yourself. The tools that mimic other people are useless. What can anyone say the purpose of typing in words and hearing a simulated artist voice is doing that would be inspiring? If you want to study the artist do that. It may or may not be beneficial in your development. That is not something I can judge. Typing in words and listening to a computer generated fake voice will do nothing to further you development. That I know for certain. The artist I mentioned were certainly inspired by people they listened to. The never attempted to mimic anyone else. Neither should you unless you are a tribute artist. Hope this is more clear.
"No matter how good AI's gonna get, it can't make music for you" ... Man, this quote will not age well. Not only will it be able to make music that's just as good, it will surpass us in every way possible.
it will age poorly... only 100 years later, AI Generated stuff while impressive does not have the creativeness yet which can only be done by sentience... and the only form of sentience we have is chatbots with pretrained data so yeah.
I was literally watching your making a beat with AI video when this came out. Your videos have help me come long way in my music production. Keep up the great work!
sing hum or whistle a melody and have the AI convert to a midi file. That´s what I need! I read there are some bad conerters out there so I needed on that is really good (that will get the notes right)
I would say this is really something worthwhile only if we had access to a simple site for uploading songs or instrumentals, where we can remove voice and generate remix from two with options based on added tracks and window for writing in human language commands to change the final result.
I just want an AI that can take low quality music and upscale the audio quality to make it crystal clear. This exists for normal voice recordings, but not for music
I've been making music since the 90's when akai 2000 samplers where used which was very time consuming back then , I've just tried this A.I out to see what it can do and it wrote me a chord progression in seconds I'm blown away. 😎✌
Imagine someone just sloppy stitching a movie together by putting in the script, or funnier: make the Bee Movie but with clips from other movies. I'm imagining every time the script says "Bee" it's Rowan Atkinson from his recent Bee slapstick miniseries.
Bear in mind that software that extracts parts was originally designed as a repair tool to make very small balance adjustments where the multis aren't available. Even using an expensive pro package, the results of complete extraction are just about good enough to analyse the parts and practise, but nowhere near good enough to actually use. The same goes for digital audio time and pitch stretches - if you use them beyond about 2-3% expect a bad result. And unlike aggressive use of pitch correction, the result isn't a "wrong" that sounds "good".
The newer ai models are better at extracting than something like izotope rx. Ive made remixes using older izotope extracts and a newer demucs model and the new ones definitely turn out clearer and more accurate. Its only going to keep getting better.
The actual performance of a human singing and/or playing a cover or original will become the gold standard no matter how good ai is. People want authentic not artificial and there will be a virtual watermark on songs created by humans so people will know that what they’re hearing was created by a musician who put their heart and soul and years of dedication to their craft. Even if ai is great, i think just like this year, people will flock to parts of the world to see a total eclipse rather than use virtual reality goggles. Just my hopeful prediction.
I've been using Lalal for a while for stem and music seperation and... bad news for literally everyone recently theyve locked their entire website behind a subscription based paywall
ujam used to have a tool in which you could hum the tune in your head, then go to their dashboard, select an instrument e.g guitar/violin/sax/etc, and then hit the `convert' button. and, presto, your tune in your voice would be converted into guitar/violin/sax/etc. it was really cool and i believe that is the future of music. they took it off because i think it became so popular their other products were not selling. if anyone here knows of a tool like that, pls do let me know. cheers,
Fantastic video as always my man. So many useful tools in just 5 minutes. Just one thing about Magenta's interpolate function though. I don't think it works with mixing two audio files together, I think it's just midi. Been trying to figure it out for a while at this point, would love to be proved wrong
That S1 pack is the same as the one that Cymatix gave away a couple months ago. In case you already had it and don't want to download a duplicate (Its like 1.3 Gig) I thought I had a new batch of license free samples, but when I sat down to go through them, I realized it was the same one I already had; just from a different site. The fact that Samplette brought up Xenoblade Chronicles shows that it has exquisite taste.
