They're not going to do it. I heard it from a podcast. I totally forgot what his channel name is, but he was talking with an ex employee short story first, the owner and I guess manager even though they hate each other guts don't care about the new customers they tell the people getting them refurbished to not get them refurbished and out for shipping. And for those who have been their long-time customers, they actually get it fully refurbished. So it is mostly picking and choosing.
This is exactly what is wrong with my PlayStation 3! I need it repaired professionally. If I did it myself I would have extra parts left over. In addition, I would forget how to put the Sony PlayStation 3 back together in the correct manner. Great to see someone as the knowledge to disassemble a PlayStation 3, clean it, and reassemble it.

It's crazy to think that videos like these where "Restoring a Playstation 3" exist. I remember the system coming out and being in awe. I can't believe it has been 16 years.
I love seeing restorations of consoles, I actually got a refurbished ps3 super slim a few months ago and it work amazingly I love it, it is now one of my favorite consoles
Imagine having an actual friend that knows a lot about technology & does professional fix/repairs like this. Its like having every problem solved at your fingertips
Really dirty but it seems the battery going bad was the true culprit. This is my favorite look of the PS3, one I still have and I’m probably going to have to do this fix down the line.
It is shocking how much dust that builds up in there I've just done a original PS4 be coming out Sunday it's much the same and thank you for watching 😀
I didn't expect this video to be so different from what I expected. It wasn't one where they ruined a PS3 and then repaired it, but one that really repaired it, the problems with the consoles don't seem so artificial, that is, it doesn't seem like they ruined it before the video
The inside is ridiculously dirty, and the outside was made dirty on purpose, u can tell someone took a rag and smeared what looks like white flower or something on there with dust! Stupid man, and what's the big deal about refurbishing a ps3, a little out a date don't you think? The ps5 or even the PS4 blows the PS3 out the door, except for free online, but I don't really play online!

SSD doesn't make any difference besides noise and heat. At best you'll have more stable readings but it'll be as fast as a normal 7200rpm HDD since the SATA connector of the PS3 is a SATA 1.0 Which creates a reading/writting speed bottleneck of up to 20MB/s (at least that's what i get from the Ethernet port using FTP)
Compressed Air it's your best friens when it comes to disassembly, just please use a facemask and do the cleaning on a open/vented area, as those little dust particles can easily get to your nose which can be dangerous and very annoying at best (they tickle). Believe it or not i've done many deep cleaning on those just with little brushes and toilet paper with alcohol. Yesterday i've got my ps3 slim CECH21XX with a YLOD, i was able to get it running for a little while enough to get the syscon error log and figure out what was the issue... Short story there was something (rather it was dust or extra thermal paste idk prolly both) obstructing the south-bridge circuit where's the RSX located. I was able to fix it assembling back with more preasure and deep cleaning that part of the motherboard, my syscon error was 3034 and 4402, now it runs fine and doesn't shut off nor struggles to boot on :)
Nice one. Thank you for the heads up for letting me know about the issue you had it may help others out as well, and thank you for watching it. it's much appreciated 😃

Hello! I have a question about all the cleaning process. Isn't it better to actually clean it all with water and soap and let it dry for 12 hours under the sun? I think it'd be less of a pain. By all I mean everything. Thank you in advance!
Hello, yeah, you can clean the board with water. I wouldn't put it in the sun. My PS3 has been facing a problem for YEARS. The game disc is accepted, but the load time is egregiously poor, sometimes it takes 15-30 mins to load a single mission, the in-game dialogues repeat themselves, certain games crash even.
