    I did some ozone experiments back in the 80s and I found it to be a great method to kill bacteria and remove turbidity from water. I didn’t own a pool back then. The way I did it, I generated a high voltage across two plates with a membrane and an air gap between them. I inserted the plates inside a tube (can’t remember the tube material, I think it was plastic). I poured different types of coloring substances in the water, turned on the power supply, and created the ozone bubbles. The tube was inserted at the bottom of the reservoir. Within seconds, the water became Cristal clear! I stayed clear of the experiment because if you breathe it, it can kill you!

    Thank you for this. I have owned 2 salt pools prior to building our latest ozone pool. This helped me a lot!

    In a spa with a good cover, with 24/7 filtration, ozone forms a layer over the water and hypersaturates the spa water. In that case, ozone lasts longer than chlorine. We haven’t added anything else in 9 years.

    I have, or rather had, a DEL AOP 25, installed August 2019. In my experience it is impossible to get parts for this in Canada. I would never purchase this product again - any manufacturer that advertises a parts list in their manual, but then doesn't have them available, is, in my opinion,...questionable.

    So I got the Chlorine figured out and we LOVE our 03 system. However we were slowly getting air bubbles forming at the top of the pump lid/window as well as the top of the filter. Over time we loose pressure after the filter returning back into the pool. Our spa stops overflowing, and the pool jets feel weak. I removed the 03 injector from the bottom of the pump where it enters the system and plumed it after the filter. That fixed the cavitation issue but the 03 no longer produces bubbles that are supposed be seen entering the pool and spa through the return jets. When I turn the adjuster up or down the little red ball does not move. It just sits at the bottom of the window. I guess my question is do I HAVE to move the 03 injector back to the pressure side of the system?

      @@CMPPoolSpa After a weekend of trial and error I have figured this whole thing out. I hope it's OK to leave this here for future people who may run into this. I scoured the net for solutions, even emailed the manufacture all to no avail. I actually found one other case where this happened to a user. Simply moving the injector past the filter with the right size fittings the O3 will not work properly. It NEEDS the suction from the pump. This is why there is a fitting at the bottom of the pump itself. This is also why all of the after market manifolds say "Pressure Side" in their description. Where the problems lies (at least in our case-and the one other guy I found) was that we were running our pump speed too low! We were informed by our pool builder to run our regular maintenance cycle pump at 2700 RPM. This worked for a period of time but during that time a large bubble would eventually form at the pump window as well as the filter top. Sometimes it would take two weeks others two days. But eventually I would see a drop in return pressure and my spa would stop overflowing, and the pool jets got weak until I would go burp the system, re prime the pump and start it all over again. At one point the pump actually lost it's prime all together. Bumping my pump to 3000 RPMs has solved the entire issue.

    I am now having a lot of trouble keeping chlorine in my pool. I am being told to ditch the Ozone system as it eats the chlorine and go back to salt. Can you guys help me with this? Should I be adding 7 gallons per week of chlorine? Thanks in advance. G

    • @CMPPoolSpa
      @CMPPoolSpa  3 года назад +1

      If you are going through that much chlorine ozone is NOT the problem. It will have minimal effect on your chlorine - chlorine is one of the last things ozone will react with. In fact you should see the opposite effect - the oxidizing of ozone should help chlorine last longer. If you are going through a lot of chlorine something else is likely the culprit.

      I’m a pool guy. I see this same thing happen all the time as well. I’ll add 1 gallon of liquid chlorine in an ozone pool and it’s gone the the next day.

    i bought an ozone pool with a hayward cl200 chlorinator , was told my free chlorine levels should be at .5 ppm ? i have slim developing on sides and bottom should i shock it? also is there a video or tutoral on how to operate my pool thanks

    • @kcrsradio
      @kcrsradio 3 года назад

      .5 ppm is too low to prevent some types of contaminants like mustard algae from forming, especially in the heat of the summer when bather loads are high and the demand on your chlorine spikes significantly. Keep your residual at the PHTA recommended level of 1-3 ppm (more toward 3 in summer) and supplement it with ozone to greatly reduce your chlorine usage and you should be OK. I also recommend any of the borate products (poolchemistrytraininginstitute.com/guide-to-borate-for-pools/) to keep these chlorine-resistant types of algae from growing once the active algae bloom has been eliminated. You can eliminate the bloom through shocking with unstabilized chlorine and adding a supplemental algaecide.

    Hello. Thank you, for the video.
    I own an 2001 Caldera Tahitian Spa and wondering what is the IDEAL ozone system for my spa? Since they do the same thing,, can I buy the cheapest ozone system?
    I was told,by the spa dealers “buy the JED103 ($120.00) & buy the Monarch 74084 ($360.00).”
    This is very confusing.🤔
    Thank you, for your time.

    I have a roughly 20K gal pool w/ spa and installed a variable speed pump. It is programmed to change speeds throughout the day. How would the AOP 25 work if sometimes it's a very low flow rate and other times very high?

    • @CMPPoolSpa
      @CMPPoolSpa  3 года назад

      It is designed to operate between 10 and 30GPM, so pretty low flow. Below 10 the venturi won't work right. Above 30 the system will still work but won't meet NSF sanitizing requirements.

    Will it damage my vinyl liner? Do I need a degassing vessel?

    • @CMPPoolSpa
      @CMPPoolSpa  3 года назад

      Sometimes the ozone can lighten the liner near the return if you get a lot of off-gas in the pool. It will depend on the pool. If you are concerned the de-gas will correct that.

    I have the Quick Pure 3 Ozone Oxidation system. I changed the ballast & lightbulb & my light still does not come on. The safety switch wired to the ballast is supposed to have a white plastic button, my safety switch doesn't have the small button, it's just a empty whole. Could this be why my light doesn't come on? Is there anything else I should be looking at?
