    To Kyle's point, you're establishing rapport with top-rated quarterbacks so that you have a shot at them in the portal in two years.

    The Wilkes’ kid is related to another Wilkes that was commuted to AU years ago. He was a record breaking rb that got killed before he ever had a chance to start college. Represent well young man. Randolph Co strong. 💪

    Yeah, that's why I've been so down about Walker White and stuff because I don't think you can stack classes like you used to could with the way the portal is. They just won't stay if they're not already getting play and you keep recruiting younger 5 stars behind them.
    I like Kyle's idea of every other year. For sure

    GREAT take Kyle. I agree 💯. IMO this is a very realistic and proper approach to roster management in this transfer portal era. See Walker White for proof.

    Im with C5 about the QB room. If you take a QB every other year. Because we seen what happened with Walker. If Auburn holds with Jackson and has Deuce waiting in wind. It seems like a great situation. Deuce knows he's a real shot at QB1.

    The only issue I have with not going after the top QB every year is the uncertainty. Portal is even more uncertain. We have no clue if Arnold or deuce will pan out.
    Feel like you have to go after your best option every year and pray one pans out

    If I am Hugh, I am going for the top QB that works in his system every year. Once we have performance on the field then you can be more strategic. BUT only taking a 5-star QB every other year does not make sense right now. Right now, CHF needs to stack them until one pans out like expected. Then you can be more "picky" or strategic

    I believe in Freeze I think people are too hard on him considering the shambles the program was in when he received it I think this year we will see improvement on the field across alot of positions. Seeing Auburn on a lot of the “way too early too 25” lists is awesome to see because it reveals that other people are noticing the changes that are occurring within the program. If Arnold plays at the caliber he was expected to be playing at last year, I think we have a really good chance to have a 9-3 or better season (and hopefully end the losing to bama streak 😔)

    • @Giggidi100
      @Giggidi100 13 дней назад

      Nah. Hes shaping up to be another Gus Malzahn. Every year there is an excuse. He had the top running back in the SEC last year yet Hunter averaged fewer than 15 carriers a game. The only two conference games Auburn won Hunter received 25+ carriers. Like Gus, Hugh would rather lose running his offense than win doing anything else, and as usual Zac would rather pump sunshine than address Freezes handling of the program.

      He made this bed with pushing Peyton Thorne on us.. Peyton was mediocre at best.. Just looking at it from where we're at now we could have kept Robbie Ashford and be in the same space.. I like Freeze but that gamble with Peyton set us back a year.. WAR DAMN BABY 🎉🎉🎉

    • @thesportster4626
      @thesportster4626 13 дней назад

      @ Freeze proved to everyone why Thorne was the best option despite everyone’s protests, WW received like 3 snaps and ended his drive in a fumble against a mediocre team, and Hank was the sole reason as to why we lost the game against Arkansas. Thorne actually did a solid job at trying to salvage that game but it was too little too late. Hate on Freeze all you want but he’s getting guys here and he’s getting guys to stay regardless of disparity. I agree Hunter should have touched the ball more, and play calling was iffy at times, but I’d blame that on the lack of having a good OC and forcing Freeze into doing far too much. Dude handles recruiting and play calling man is a workhorse for Auburn.

      @@aerialhallsr1183 I agree Thorne should’ve been gone after year 1, but seriously who would have filled his spot this year? Hank was either mediocre or sucked in every game he played in, and White couldn’t hold onto the damn ball playing against ULM, how did you expect him to fare in SEC play? Would’ve went exactly the same as Hank brown did against Arkansas. Had nothing to do with freeze failing to develop Qbs, these guys just were not strong enough to be SEC caliber quarterbacks. Our QB room is loaded this season.

    This all sounds good, BUT if you’re only going for a great quarterback every other year, what if you miss out on that great quarterback, then you have a three-year gap of no great quarterback. You’re almost better to go from one every year expecting that you will only get one every other year. It is the mind of the sales person, if you want one…you have gotta ask for two or even 5

    Nobody wants to hear it and I’m sure we all hate it, but we have to start thinking of college as a professional sport. Contracts HAVE to be coming at some point. “Recruiting” won’t matter near as much as money. And money incentivizes giving PT to your high dollar players, even if they aren’t the best. They gotta get a handle on this thing because it’s making the game terrible IMO. Rivalries and school pride are vanishing because players are on a different team every season. It’s a weird time in college sports
