My last 6 cruises have been Casino comps. I do pay port fees and taxes which normally are around $150 to $250 per cruise. I always get some type of incentive such as Freeplay and paid gratuities, wifi, or a drink package. I normally spend around $1000 to $1500 per cruise and sometimes recoup that or a part of that per cruise. They always comp me balcony staterooms and overall I spend more on getting to and from the cruise port than I do on the actual cruises. I sail strictly Princess because they take care of me. I currently hold a Platinum status from free cruises. Playing slots will build your offers the quickest as it's not based on how much you win or lose but rather how many spins per hour and the amount wagered. I estimate I spend 3 to 5 hours per sea day in the casino. Offers vary from a choice of 4 days up to 20. It's really not as hard to receive comps from the casino as one would think.

I gamble more than you on a 7+ day cruise and a few hours longer too. But I gamble for fun (not to necessarily win, but it's a plus when I do) and chatting with other gamblers.
      I book only casino offers.

Good point about the slots/comps. I believe Roulette is the next best for comps, as long as you play inside. Blackjack is actually pretty hard to get comps for... which actually makes sense since it has one of the lowest house edges.

Very good video with info not provided by other youtubers. I will say it is much easier to know how many points you need for a free cruise with Royal Caribbean than other lines. They post the award levels at the casino host desk. Thats why I prefer Royal's casino perks. They don't keep it a secret.

Excellent video. My wife and I have enjoyed 5 free cruises thanks to Royal Caribbean Casino offers. Gambling is DEFINITELY a way to obtain further free cruise offers. ~ To your other point about the "mental part" of gambling: Absolutely, one must practice self care. One should not gamble if feeling depressed or angry. Limiting one's time at the tables or slots is good practice too. Remember, you'll have plenty of days at sea in which to gamble. Biologically, Dopamine and Cortisol are both hormones which are released in large quantities while gambling. These hormones fan the fire to pursue or "chase".
This all adds to compulsion which can occur while gambling. Compulsion gets its strongest foothold when engaging with any behavior which offers an intermittent reward. And YES, if you're up $20, consider taking that as a win. Go get something to eat, go watch the belly flop contest, take in a show, go to the spa, sit by the pool and take in the band, go play trivia... Gambling can be an integral part of your cruise without it taking dominance. And... if strategized, it can be a resource for further free cruises. Love your channel. Thanks for posting!

We have only sailed on Carnival so I can only comment on our experience on those ships (and I have heard that comps are calculated differently on different cruise lines). We took 18 cruises in 2022, almost all for the cost of port taxes, gratuities and insurance. Since we received OBC, Fun Play and free drinks in the casino on all cruises (enough to cover the previously mentioned costs) they were free cruises. Staterooms varied from balconies to inside cabins. Oh, and we didn't book all offers. So far, for 2023 we have 24 cruises booked, all casino comps with several more offers not yet booked. We are not "whales" (big money players) but we do spend a lot of time in the casino. The staff is great, the drinks are free (for us), and we've gotten to know a lot of people that also cruise frequently. Even though playing against "the house" is almost always a losing proposition, we know our comps have put us ahead compared to what it would have cost us had we paid full price for all those cruises and stayed out of the casino. WARNING: set a limit and NEVER gamble with money you can't afford to lose...because, odds are, you WILL LOSE!!

You should be able to ask the casino for a Win-Loss statement. It likely won't be detailed (except for maybe splitting slots from tables), and will likely include the whole calendar year (not just your cruise), but it should show you how much you actually wagered.
In any case, comps are likely based off your theoretical win. So betting $1000 at the slots would earn you more towards the comp than $1000 on blackjack because the house has better odds on the slots.

My wife and I both gamble (slots, black jack, hold 'em), both on land and at sea. But it's always for enjoyment and entertainment, and not for comps (maybe because we just won't put up enough stakes). Winning a free cruise would be great! But I continue to be of the mindset that my paycheck pre-gambling always guarantees a cruise, and leaves nothing to risk or chance 😀

Two weeks later, I got an email that I had earned a free interior room for two from a selected list of cruises in December and Jan. We opted for a 5 night cruise out of Texas. Additionally, my wife and I decided to upgrade to a balcony room and even after the upgrade costs and taxes paid, the total cost was less than 1/4 of the price listed on RC’s website or any other travel agency’s website.

I travel solo and the casino pays the double rate....so the cruise would have cost me about 8k just for the room. Lost 2k in the casino....but still came out way ahead. I've got 5 free cruises on the books in 2023, including Australia and medditeranian (all include drink package, $500 casino play and $300 obc). Yes...I believe the table games can't be as monitored as to the amounts of money played by individual players over a specific time period. Slots have a built in computing function which determines how many spins and amount$ played.

    • @iptvclub1575
      @iptvclub1575 Год назад

It’s not about that. Jenny cycled through way more money. Slots get the best comps because it’s so many spins per hour. Table games are rated the worst. In slots it doesn’t matter what the buy in is, because the machine only cares how much you cycle through it . When playing table games it’s really important to have a big buy in. Instead of cashing in only $300 at a time, if he cashed in the whole $1500 (even if he didn’t play the full $1500) he most likely would have gotten an inside stateroom offer.
Table games are difficult to calculate, and it’s not an exact formula. Slot machines have an exact formula. At table games you are relying on the pit boss to periodically enter your initial buy in and average bet.

QUESTION: Does Jenny's offer for the free cruise include the fare for 2 people?(can you go with her?) If you do the math you actually, your experiment was a win/win. When you add the $800 you won, plus the $500 in free play, plus the $250 in free play for Jenny, you come up with a total of $1550 in addition to Jenny's free cruise for the $2000 loss. When you go, be sure and take the $800 out of the equation (Save it, or ask about an upgraded room) Only gamble with the free play you've been offered. 👍

Option 1: run the quarters through once and go home with what remains. Option 2: run the quarters through until you win huge or run out. Option 1 is like buying a lottery ticket. Option 2 is buying entertainment.

We are going on a free royal cruise in a couple of weeks. On royal they credit the account for the price of an inside cabin and then you can pay whatever the difference is for an upgrade. Free does not include port fees or gratuities. I also tend to receive these offers a couple of weeks after the cruise. In March we are doing our first princess cruise that happens to be a transatlantic, plenty of time to gamble and I am interested to see what they offer at the end. Also the Points Guys have blog out on what it takes to get free cruises on various cruise lines that is quite interesting. Great channel, keep up the good work.

The casino boss said always the tables. Which isn’t the case. Husband, brother play almost exclusively tables. Sister in law plays mostly slots. Easily probably spends win/loss averages about two thousand. Husband on tables never gets free cruise. Always gets free play offers. Most of the time walks away with a free play offer. Sister in law ALWAYS gets a free cruise and tends to have equal win/loss. Congrats on the free cabin. Sorry Jenny B had to lose $2000 to get a free room.

If you bet about $3 a spin and bet $20 a hand/spin and play for 4-5 hours a day for 4-5 days, you'll get enough points for a free cruise in the interior cabin or possibly balcony, depending on the sailing. A $1,500 bankroll could be minimum needed to play like this. You may lose it all quick, or comeback with some money (or break even) and a free cruise. Or on a free cruise currently and get another free cruise for next time. Of course, there are fees/gratuity/insurance/etc. you buy so it's not completely free, but it's definitely a fraction of the normal fare.
We've only been cruising twice and both on Royal, and I was told that slots rack up points far faster than table games. This seems to be consistent with Princess as well from your trip. We go to Vegas and tribal casinos. I play roulette and it's typically one of the highest comp-generating games in Vegas and on land, but I found out that slots generate the most on Royal (and maybe Princess too). But regardless, shouldn't be gambling to get comps. You gamble for fun anyway and if you get something extra, then great.

I once stayed at a hotel in Las Vegas. I wanted to play tennis so I went to the pro shop and they set us a match for me with someone else staying at the hotel. After the match he ordered us some beers and he said he'd also take care of the cost for the court. He said not to worry about it because everything he spends is comped because he was a gambler. I asked how it worked and he said he has to play a certain number of minutes at gaming tables of a certain value (e.g., $25 per hand). It didn't matter if he won or lost, as long as he met his time comittment.

That explains why they hurry each hand along so quickly. I want to sit and enjoy the game and take more time but the dealer moves very quickly.

First, let me preface this with I do not gamble but it used to be that if you got money from the cashier in the casino, like money off your ATM card, it counted as money spent in the casino gambling. We got three free cruises just getting cash for running around on shore days. This was prepandemic so I’m not sure if it still works but bless that lady on Holland who told us this trick. Oh, and it worked on Princess, too

I started cruising this past April. I got that trip and 2 more for free from MGM one from MGM Vegas and one from MGM Biloxi. I have been on 11 cruises so far and I have 23 more cruises booked until December of next year. All but 2 we're just for cost of Port fees and taxes. I will.make diamond on Club Royal on my February 5 sailing on Wonder of the Seas!! Non stop sailing for me darling!!

I think you're onto something with your "Walking Tour". My idea is that you could extend this to the ports. People always want to know things like:
    1. How far is it from the ship to the actual port? Any sort of tram service?
    2. How is the shopping near the ship?
    3. Restaurant recommendations in the port town?
    4. A segment on "La Lido Local" to try and live like a local lives for the day. Find a tour guide, have them take you to the off the beaten path places
    5. What makes this port unique?
I believe that your excellent editing skills, combined with informative dialog would be a big hit with the cruisers. People like to know the low down before they visit and often the Kool Aid served by the cruise company isn't the whole story.

I always take a very specific amount for the week. If I'm playing a slot machine and I have a win - let's say I started with $50, and I have a $150 win - I cash out that ticket. That ticket goes directly into the safe and does not come out until the end of the cruise when it's time to cash things in. If I'm lucky, over the course of the week, I accumulate a nice chunk of winnings. But given that the amount I start with is an amount I'm comfortable with losing in its entirety, if I got on the ship with $2k and I walk off with $500, I figure I won, cause I didn't lose it all!
Meanwhile, man, I wish every cruise line stuck those cards under your door at the end of the cruise. I've dropped a small fortune on NCL trips and had to deal with their Casino At Seas department.

I am not a cruiser but enjoy going to Carribean resorts with Casinos i play craps, baccarat and blackjack, have gotten to the point where i now get offers for up to a five day stay, comp at 500 per night at one of the big hotels in Nassau, just have to pay resort fee and maid fee daily not quite 80 bucks, per day

I know for a fact that casinos in Mississippi, Atlantic City, and even tiny places like Wendover are more than happy to comp flights, rooms and free drinks to inveterate gamblers and they don't make money off giving these comps to winners.
Can one get $2000 of cruise goodness out of this comp? If one doesn't buy anything, doesn't gamble, doesn't take any excursions. They make 40% of their cruise passenger income from onboard purchases.
You already paid for the cruise. Now they can get another free 40% from you; likely more if you
    gamble.

My wife and I are 65+. We both have special needs and we have two service dogs. We are in the port of Belize today. The Belize government is demanding to inspect our dogs even though we are not getting off the ship they are going to charge us $150, this is a seizure of our money by the Belize government. It is also a discrimination against senior citizens with special needs. Advise everyone to not travel on any ship that is visiting Belize, or to visit Belize itself. I will be filing a complaint with the US Embassy in Belize and with my senator when we return home, I will also contact the national service dog community and advise them to avoid Belize.

My sister and I are sailing on the Celebration in February. We both gamble and on our last cruise we each gambled at least $2K-3K. Our free cruise offer included a veranda cabin, free drink package, $100 In cruise credit, and $1K in free play for the casino. We each paid $300 in port fees, taxes & insurance. We couldn't pass it up. Air fare of course cost much more than the cruise!!

Carnival has a player list...of everyone that plays slots....and table games an both are seperate from 1 another. The algorithm is a very well kept secret but trust me when I say if youre putting enough money in play...they know you on a 1st name basis and they comp you not only w free cruises....but free steak house comps among bittles of wine liquor etc......hell...ive got the felt off the craps table from one. Remember....the magic "number" at the cage each time...is a 400 chip cash in then they ask for your sail n sign card. They track those as.opposed to lesser amounts. I get offers constantly for 1000 dollars theyll give me in the casino drinks anywhere on the boat steak hs comps etc. And Balconys....Suites....rooms on the house...and thats not to forget the Elite cruise offers etc....ultras....and premieres are always on the offer sheet.

Do you think you would have received a free cruise offer yourself if you laid down more money above the $300 even if you didn't gamble with it? Like laid down $1000 and gambled $300 of it and got up and walked until later? Don't know if cashing in and rebuying each time would have been beneficial or not too...

If my math is correct, you won $800 plus $500 in free play, plus $250, plus an interior cabin for two worth a minimum of $1000, plus crew appreciation worth $210 or more, plus free wi-fi worth $200. Total $2960 for $2000 of fun. Net win will be $960 or more depending on the length of the cruise. Next time you take the $2000 and give her the $1500 and see if she still gets comped.
