  • Lets go ahead and swap out one of our liquid rocket engines for a jet engine to see if it'll help us with getting to space in the new Stormworks Space DLC!

Liquid engines do leak some fuel IRL since it’s pressurized and the fuel is below freezing so it sublimates. Solid boosters don’t leak because they have solid fuel.

Hi, you used a weak pump, so the pumping was slow and didn’t pump completely.
It is necessary to use impeller pumps, spun (using gear boxes) to at least 200RPS. And most likely, even more revolutions will be required.
The full capacity is even indicated directly on the tank (capacity is the available volume in liters, the contents of the tank is how much is currently filled), which indicates that it is only 10% full from spawn. I have verified this information in practice with all gas tanks. Everything fits ten times more than it spawns.

have the jets use multiple intakes so they get optimal air for longer

Wing drop pods would save a bunch of weight. You could also properly make a powerful engine with after burners.

Doing so also gives you an opportunity to navigate on re-entry. rather than just coasting.

Liquid fuelled rockets are notoriously leaky, and hydrogen is among the worst fuels for it due to the cold temperature needed to store it at a reasonable density in a tank.
ULA's Delta IV Heavy rocket famously lights itself on fire before launch, in order to burn off excess hydrogen around the rocket and prevent an unintended ignition inside the rocket.
Even Falcon 9, which uses kerosene and liquid oxygen, a very common fuel type (though SpaceX super-chills their kerosene), is fuelling up until just seconds before launch due to boil-off, which is basically cold fuel simply boiling away into the atmosphere.

You need to add solid rocket boosters somewhere on the shuttle in order for it to get to space with a comfortable amount of fuel left

Yup, they for some reason only spawn with 10% fuel.

8:45 The reason the fuel in the plane isn’t going up is because the fueling ports are after the valves and the gas is just going straight out the engines. Edit: as soon as I wrote this I realised he fixed this.
    ( brain fart moment 🫤 )

Frantic wouldn’t you need to release pressure from the fuel tank so you can store more fuel
