Not needed, he probably just memorizes specific ways to tune down for each song he plays. Perfect would obviously make it easier but it's not needed for specific songs. Or he plays a note on one string and tunes the other string to that one. (That's what I do and it's def not perfect pitch) Or maybe he does have perfect pitch idk 🤷🏼♂️
