Food for thought
The synching effect of sound to visual change is very powerful. In our daily life there is an expected synch relation we have with sound. The one that gets our most attention are usually coupled to loud sound bursts or some pronounced rhythm sound such as a drum beat.
In these videos from the Weekend Mind Melt the synching effect couples the visual change to sound in an unexpected synch relation. This causes the viewer to be synched-out when first watching and so a certain amount of viewtime is needed before the viewers brain re- synchs with the video display, and possibly having a resonation experience.
Sound permeates our existence. It is a part of our evolving consciousness. The movement we perceive that is about us is coded in sound. My effort is to decode sound into components that can be used to influence the movement and change in a visual display. The audio visual display provides feedback to the person and this may provide an immersive experience, synching, of our hearing and seeing.
About the Creator
I use sound as primary for feeding the driving force of a changing image.
I've been fortunate to have 30 years exploring in this area.
The kinetic aesthetic of the image is hoped to have strong synching connection to the motive-motional dynamic of the sound. A viewing person may have a Resonation experience which is the goal of creating these sketches. These successful sketches are far and few because of the alchemy of this art.
