no because when fab said "besties before testies" that was so real, and i WILL IRONICALLY repeat that statement till the day i die
The thing is, I rlly loved that Ethan was there but in the end it didn't even feel like he was ever there BC HE LITERALLY WASN'T ANYMORE AT ALL. What happened to him fr, like he just disappeared and that made it kinda weird, like I just didn't rlly get why they did him so dirty and just ripped him out of the show bc there WAS some great potential for the character. And for example, Aneesa wasn't too "important" anymore in the last season as well but she still existed, ykwim? Meanwhile Ethan happened to be kidnapped by aliens or sum.
And don't get me wrong, I never saw him as endgame or sum, but they could've done more than just treating him as the "bad and dumb guy" bc he was trying to be better (fits very well with the edit's song). Also it was just weird how less Devi cared all of a sudden, girl just be like "you're not a bad guy, you're a bad person, bye." LIKE AS IFFF, sorry but you don't end a relationship like that. Not that stealing is okay, but he really isn't that of a shitty person, all in all Paxton and Ben fucked things up way worse sometimes bc they seriously hurt her ykwim and Ethan stole smth once in her present. But towards Devi he was like so nice yk, like seriously respectful and helpful.

I did read this and I really did agree w u, they didn't have to do him so dirty, he truly cared and it was obvious, the way he was so nice to her, tried doing things for her, wanting to mess something up for that teacher thing from Princeton bc she was being rude to devi, he had so much potential and honestly I hate how they made him just disappear and not even give his point of view, and I hated how Paxton and Ben did way worse fucked up shit, and hurt devi sm but Ethan did one thing and she decides to leave him, I mean yes he would probably ruin her chances w college n stuff but she could've had a small talk with him about how to be better and to be better in their relationship (not like he was mean ir anything I just mean that she could help him know how to improve and be a better person, still do his own thing and keep his personality and stuff but like not do anything that'll get devi in trouble and lower her chances with college

Second, I love to hear that sb agrees, in fact I feel like a lot of people felt the same or the smiliar way about him which is only understandable. As you've said Devi could've talked to him about stealing etc. or whatever I don't know, but directly leaving him and calling him a shitty person doesn't add up to me. Sometimes ppl we love do shitty stuff, but everybody makes mistakes and leaving someone after they did like one thing wrong which didn't even effect their partner directly, I don't know man. Why she should she teach Ethan how to be good. They would not have been a good match because you can’t teach a person how to be a better person, it’s common sense. They probably would’ve broken up in the future due to Ethan ruining some of her chances by being rude
I think he is such an interesting character and there is definitely a lot of scope for a storyline like this, if done well, I liked it overall.

Oh shit when Devi broke up with him and he didnt show up in any of the later scenes I was pretty pained cause I didnt root for any of the other guys the way I rooted for Ethan like sheeeeet. He even helped her look good in front of the Princeton lady and she could teach him to be a good person na😭😭when he was like so you are dumping me I could swear i felt a pang in my heart like brooooooooooo when i saw that she ended up with Ben i went to research it and research said she ended up with Ben because even tho they had misunderstandings he wanted her to succeed and so did Ethan he also wanted her to succeed. Lol I think it’s funny how some people think it’s okay to justify stealing. I’m not immediately saying that Ethan’s a bad person, but he is a person that has done a lot of bad things and is very bad behaved. You don’t stick your middle finger up to your teachers and you don’t steal from other people. If I found out that my man was a thief and stole a wallet from someone I’d end things immediately. Stealing says a lot about someone’s character and I wouldn’t want to surround myself with people like that.
I think it’s weird how they made stealing seem worse than lying, cheating, two timing, betraying other people or carelessly breaking their hearts. At least Ethan was always honest with Devi and upfront about how much he liked her. He was literally the only boy who didn’t make her second guess about how much he wanted to be with her. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have broken up with him. I’m saying the writers did a bad job at making his character make sense.

But it bothers me how people think they should’ve been endgame and that their breakup, over a stolen wallet, was a bad decision, when it was the best decision she could’ve made for herself. But yes, I do agree that they did his character dirty. If it wasn’t for the stealing part I would’ve loved to see more of them together. Heck, even after the stealing part, I would’ve loved to see him develop into a better person and be with Devi if he truly changed for the better. But I don’t know what their reasoning was and I was always team Ben, so this season was a win for me 🤣
