- I used my GoPro Hero 10 to film my batting innings during my village cricket match against Skegness Cricket Club. I feel this was one of my favourite innings that I've played. Took a few balls to get my eye in and then accelerated at the end. Really satisfying!

They heard you I believe. This T20 world cup there is an option to watch from behind the stumps. I believe that requires a special subscription. It would be fascinating to see how quick international pacers that hit 150+ really are.

You have the stump cam view which is occasionally shown. There are also some helmet cams used in The 20 over matches at IPL and the Aussie version of it.
Have you seen the Lords game? Adam Gilchrist has a GoPro, and he faces Shaun Tait! Smashes a short ball for a boundary. Play it at 0.25x speed or you won't see the ball!

Running between wickets not so great at the very start of the video. Hence the run out. It looked an incredible piece of fielding.

The running between wickets is important, puts pressure back on the bowler. You can get 5 or 6 an over with no boundaries.

Great Innings Gareth. Often innings like this where the opposition goes on the defensive quickly and you need to grind and run hard are even more satisfying than swashbuckling innings full of boundaries. Well Done!

Perfect running between the wickets. It really helps when your partner can run with the same energy . Loved the way you picked up the pace towards the end of your innings , overall great performance ! I have seen it to be more exciting when the camera is worn by the keeper for the 2nd innings . Certainly gives us a closer and exciting view. Just a suggestion :)

Used to live for days like this, a game of cricket on a beautiful ground like that, on a day like that... that was living. You'd spend your whole week looking forward to it, then the next week mentally replaying your own personal highlight reel (if you had one, that is... and hadn't gotten a duck or gotten spanked around the park...)

This channel has been an awesome way for me to get further into cricket. I started watching highlight videos about a month ago but those don't really show the regular aspects of cricket as much as this. You get to see the standard flow of the game. Great stuff!

Remember playing cricket as a lad on the local village green… you got 12 runs if you got the ball to land on top of the number 67 bus to town. Every 20 mins you would have an opportunity. And that road was some distance off the green. Such good fun although the bus drivers often did not see it the same way.

Although Gareth is much better than last season, he still has a habit of running towards the non striker, rather than the bowler. Calling is much better and he appears to have stopped turning blind for the second. So he is getting better at it!
You can also say 'your call' if you're facing the opposite way to the ball. More communication is better than less.
their spinner played really well, great consistency and forcing you to take risks for runs. love it

It is such a bittersweet feeling this. While I'm very glad to watch this, I feel like nothing of my past could be recorded like this. What if there were go pros in the times I was playing? I would have recorded all my innings, all my goals, all those rides, all those drives, all those mountain climbs, all those memories...which fade away.

I'm an American who became a fan of watching cricket, then a few years later got to spend a summer in Somerset, UK and joined the local village cricket club and learned to play some. I became an ok bowler (took about 1 wicket per match I played) but didn't get to develop much with the bat (only scored a single run in about 5 or 6 innings total!) Watching this makes me miss it so much, and it's so hard to find proper cricket to play here in the USA. Thanks!

Well done mate, very planned innings. you took singles and doubles so efficiently, and I liked the fact that you played with a very straight bat, only took chances while you found enough time to make a cross bat shot.
Its been fairly 4-5 years, I haven't played cricket due to my temporary residency in US. pitches are horrible here, and worst feeling is playing in a mat which is not flat either. I miss playing cricket in a beautiful ground like this. such a delight to see the match through your lense.

Definetely one of your best innings Gareth especially as you didnt give a chance whilst batting. Lots of ones and twos as Skegness fielded well, and the boundars looked long. Surprised on that form that Skeggy are bottom of the table. Your back in the runs again, although that 99 a few weeks back wasnt bad either. Pleasure to watch as usual...thanks

Fantastic innings Gareth. The mentality that you went in to bat with is exactly what you need to maintain. Remember you play the game because you enjoy it therefore no point being under pressure. Watch the ball from the bowlers hand to your bat and bat nice and straight unless it’s a rank wide or short ball. You have the momentum so let’s use this to move on to bigger and better things. I think middle order is your position. Many congratulations on the innings and good luck in the next game.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I’ve noticed that you have a tendency to become chest on when playing an expansive shot and therefore bottom hand dominant. To prevent this you need to stay side on upon contact with the ball which will ensure you middle the ball more often then not. To remain side on you must ensure that your chin and left shoulder are as close together as possible when making contact with the ball.
I hated this game so much as it is all show business here in India. Your perspective on cricket with POV and unknown player base having a good ol game kept me glued till the end. You have inspired me to go out and give this a shot. I used to be an all rounder. Maybe its time for me to put on my gloves :-)

Be interesting to watch you at Deeping or Bourne as they are local to me in Peterborough. I certainly never played at Woodhall but my sons have played county games at Skegness. My lads play for Oundle in the Northants prem, although the youngest is in Australia this year till next March. He plays for Cambs minor county team left arm spinner.
