    My god, Chas did so much for jimi before he was even seen as a profitable asset by everyone else. Flew to New York for him twice, chased him around for days, helped him order his birth certificate and passport, and waiting 14 days while they arrived and that’s before the real work began.
    Thank you Chas, who knows what would’ve became of Jimi if he never met him. Chas is in part responsible for the fact we have the incredible vibes jimi continues to put into the world with his recorded music

      Hi Ian, agreed, the Animals were a great band. Recorded 'Land of the Rising Sun' for £ 5 on their lunch break. Burdon's legacy in relation to Hendrix, some fans might say is mixed, took a dive when he did the controversial interview after Jimi died, suggesting suicide. He later regretted it, blaming being stoned at the time. Kathy Etchingham also tells a story of Burdon spiking Hendrix's Scotch & Coke with acid at a club in the early days, which she ending up drinking and landing her in hospital. But that is just guy stuff. And I only just recently came a cross the suggestion that Jimi had an affair with Angie Burdon, which some say may have led to bad blood between the two towards the end? Life is complicated. Cheers!

    First off, thank you for taking the time and effort for putting these documentaries together. I recently came across a RUclips video where Billy Cox talks about the early days when him and Jimi were playing in the clubs and bars around the South. This would have been in the early 60’s. As Billy stated, even back then Jimi never went anywhere without his guitar. According to Billy, Jimi put 25 years of practice into 5 years. There seems to be very little known about those early days. I’ve tried myself to find out as much as I can about the pre -fame days. Any chance of a documentary on the early days of Jimi’s first steps into becoming a musician?

    Jimi Hendrix multi-faccted but was cast in an ultra violet spectrum. Over a forty eight year span growing Jimi into my DNA and there's no doubt in my mind JH could be from outer space and flying a strat shaped spaceship took a pit stop here on the planet Earth. It didn't take long before there was obvious evidence in his high I.Q. shared a GOD given feel for the guitar, an artist in string beautiful images to sex driven catalyst that takes you to places beyond the everyday rock artist. Dick Cavett could sit at Jimi's height and conduct an interview with him. The one thing about JH is his child like adult honesty. Honesty with ego and the other negative traits many greats of the greats use to keep on the cost of a controlled rock life style. Honesty to every one including himself. I will try to place myself in a position as Jimi had it's almost impossible for me to do. So there he was a black kid then famous universe wide putting a groove in music and the world so great I think we need to chisel his face ont Rushmore next to our other GOD given men.

      -BBW- song by his truely, Cry Of Love album. PS. Jimi has spoken of recalling his parents arguing and 'fighting' alot, IMHO the song is like alot of Jimi's music, autobiographical.

      I've read that Jimi was inspired to write"Belly button window" due to Mitch Mitchell's wife's pregnancy(I regret forgetting her name).He apparently joked that the child was watching everything from the womb via his window.

    • @cravinbob
      @cravinbob 11 месяцев назад

      That song's lyrics are the thoughts of a fetus wondering if it will be allowed to be born and the concerns of living in a world riddled with death despair and war. Will it be welcomed or be a burden.
      Denver Pop Festival June 29 1969, I was there as Jimi closed the three day event. I stood about 6 feet away as he played Voodoo Child. I watched Noel as he tossed his bass aside and quit the band. Jimi kept playing and Mitch got up and Jimi did not stop. 3 guys came out and took Jimi's guitar and carried Jimi off stage... I am in Univibes magazine interviewed about it. 1969... and I will be 69 in a few days. Wayne 'De Harpe" Ceballos played with his 3 piece band Aum that opened the show. He came out from backstage with Tommy Bolin when Jimi started and watched. Bolin played with Zephyr that day. Zephyr was a band from Boulder. Wayne wrote to me about hanging out with Jimi that day but told me not to share that story! We are Aumigos. He lives in Austin and jams with his kids and grandkids and his friend Tommy Shannon..
      69 years and I have been around the block, seen a ton of things, life, death and the music that marked time... we all have a sound track. When Jimi died it confirmed he was human but his guitar playing made one wonder. I do not recall ever hearing or reading anything about how Jimi learned the instrument, no lessons or how did he learn to tune it!

    I don’t think Bruce Bedspring was around for Jimi’s cafe wha? Days. He would’ve been like 16-17

      @@BELLY_BUTTON_WINDOWsorry to nitpick an otherwise great video, but Springsteen and jimi never crossed paths at cafe wha. Springsteen played there with the Castile s a few times in late 68 after jimi had become a big star and was long gone.

    The stills are great, but the background animation are an annoying distraction.

    This would be better if the narrator wasn't AI or some kind of bot. It lacks the warmth of a human voice and also mispronounced the "Isley Brothers", calling them the "Iley Brothers"! How about a return to human narrators!?!

      Yes, totally understand, you're not the only one to voice this feedback. I'm spending more time of the production values, and am mindful opf this. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers
