    With all due respect to His Eminence, Metropolitan Kallistos is how I envision Gandalf when reading the Lord of the Rings.

    Dumitru Staniloae's Romanian Philokalia has 12 volumes. Paisius Velichkovsky completed his Slavonic translation at the Neamt Monastery, also in Romania, where the hesychastic tradition in the monasteries was strong.
